    I'm not. I will be keeping my older bigger engines as long as possible. Hopefully petrol will get cheaper as demand drops as everyone jumps on the electric car bandwagon. Then Ill be able to run a nice big V8. Just like heating oil drops in price in summer time when nobody wants it...

    Mine is starting to stick in the low gears longer than she usually does. But changes up eventually. 87000 miles on her now. I'm thinking it's time for a oil change. She had full service history till 72000 but no mention of automatic transmission fluid change so don't know if it's ever been done.

    My pipes between first and second cats on both sides where badly rusted and leaking. I got a custom exhaust place to weld in New pipes for me , much cheaper than new exhaust... £80 par side

    Mine did this too then cut out and wouldn't restart and I replaced the alternator and everything was fine

    Engine back to running much better today. I think it must have got water in something and it's dry now

    The old alternator flattened the battery not the new one and it wasn't cheep. She was running well until the very heavy rain the other day. had to drive through lots of flooding so I still think it's wet has got in some were. Haven't used her since yesterday hoping she runs better when she drys off in garage

    Thanks I'll try that. Alternator was replaced a couple of weeks ago which flattened the battery. And I charged the battery for about 48hours which is only new a year ago

    Only when throttle is closed she should creep smoothly but surges. Drives smooth the rest of the time

    My engine has started surging when in drive or reverse but idles smooth in neutral and park. Anyone have any ideas y she is doing this? Thanks (been a lot of heavy rain lately wandering if water has got into the electronics).

    The steering became heavy on mine then engine cut out and that was it

    Did yours just die too without warning or did your ignition light come on to tell you she wasn't charging?

    It seems like its a age thing rather than mileage for the alternator to go. Mine has only done 86000miles. And she just died with out any dash lights coming on and had to be recovered home. Thankfully my insurance this year covered break down so didn't cost anything as I was about 15 mile from home

    thanks but could you please take pictures close up of connection between coolant cap and inlet manifold. I can't make out the wire colors in the pictures you sent. Thanks

    Got alternator in and everything back together only to find I've pulled the wires out of one of the cam solenoids and don't know which way round the wires go. Engine starts and runs but management light on because the wares are disconnected. Could someone take a picture of the top of their engine so I can see which way round these wires go please. Thanks

    It seems that the recon alternator I got is a bad fit for some reason. So I have returned it and got a dearer one this time so hopefully it will fit easyer

    Has anyone left the rear bracket off for the alternator?. I'm having trouble getting the front bolts to line up and think it's the rear bracket that won't line up. Most alternators don't have a rear bracket. I think Lexus is just over doing it. What do you all think? thanks.
