  1. I've had mine almost 2 years now and love her to bits. Put new struts all round and she drives like a new car and has now 90,000 miles on her. only let me down once and that was the alternator packed in but, this happens to younger cars. had a mate and his packed in on a 3 year old ford.
  2. I think fuel system needs bleed . Im not sure how its done on the lexus
  3. Anyone know a easy way to get some petrol for my lawnmower from my is 250? it cant be done the way i used to do it on my older cars by puting a pipe into the filler neck and sucking some out. Or removing a pipe from the carb and turn the engine over. I dont want to nip out to the petrol station for a ltr or two as my nearest place is about 10 miles away.
  4. I just polish mine every time I polish the car and never have a problem with my lights
  5. lexus dealer. i was able to get new front strut bolts and nuts from them as mine were rusted on and i had to cut the old ones off.
  6. most of the year where I live the temp never reaches 20c and there is always a cool air to keep the car cool with windows open and parked in the shade..
  7. I have this. Thanks. you can get them in Halfords.
  8. some times it needed to leave my dog in my car. but i always leave windows open and park in the shade.

  10. Thanks everyone for your help. It's made her feel much better and got her umph back

  12. Hi. The last time I was out the management light came on and when I got home I got code 172&175 which is both banks running rich. So I pulled a plug out and expected it to be black and it was normal tan colour. So I cleaned the air filter and air flow sensor. Now she's idling @1500 rpm and can't get it down. So wondering if the pressure regulator is sticking. Which used to be easier to find on less complicated engines lol. The lexus has so many valves and solaniods on the engine lol
  13. Can anyone know where the pressure regulator is on my is250? Please
  14. This happened to me and a local welder, welded it back on for £60 and welded the rear mount which was broke off as well. He made a good job of it
  15. Automatics can be towed for short distances . The trouble is the pump that pumps the ATF around the gearbox only runs when the engine is running so can cause damage. Don't know about CTV as I have no experience of these. Being an old school mechanic lol
  16. I think this engine is a BMW engine and was never great. I m not a fan of diesel engines. Only had one in over 40 yrs of driving and hated it
  17. This happened to me and I got a local garage that does welding to weld it for me a new rear part is a fortune to buy
  18. You need a electronic engineer not an auto spark these days for cars
  19. I agree with this too. Then give the runner's and other moving parts a good spray with WD-40 from inside when you get it to tilt even a wee bit
  20. I buy my plugs from local motor factor and no what I'm getting. I don't trust online shopping you never know what you are getting
  21. Classic cars are meant to sound like a car not a washing machine on spin
