  7. hi all
  8. When I got my is250 she had cheap tyres, they were so noisy I thought she had bad wheel bearing or something. I put Hankook tyres on and the noises went away and I've been very happy with them. The rear ones need to be renewed soon and will use the same again...
  9. Update. Well ordered subframe bolt from Lexus £40 and £65 for the part that needs replaced...
  10. Car Mechanics' magazine latest project car is a Lexus IS250. This should be interesting...
  11. I have long breaker bar and blow torch but dont want to damage the rubber mounting. I only need the 1 bolt out I'm not removing the sub. It seems to go up through the crossmember/box section behind the rear seat so have sprayed lots of wd40 down the holes on top hoping it reachs the top of the bolt.
  12. Thanks
  13. Has anyone had problems removing rear subframe bolts, were they rusted in or do they come out easy? I need to remove the front nearside bolt and am worried that it will be rusted in and break when I try to remove it. I need to replace the lower subframe stopper. Should I order new bolts as well when getting the part from Lexus?...Thanks.
  14. Your like me. Last auto I had, had a dipstick so checking the oil level and changing it was easy...
  15. Has anyone replaced the rear suspension lower stopper. mine has broke off
  16. Mine was doing the same. Cleaned maf and air filter with carb cleaner [k&n filter]. fixed the problem and she got her oomph back.
  17. This happened to my car at that age and i found my pipes between the first and second cats were badly rusted and blowing out behind the heat shields before the second o2 sensors. had new pipes welded in and that was 2 years ago and had no problems since.
  18. you are right. but the older cars have the same profile front and rear 225/40/17 on front 245/40/17 on rear.
  19. I never let my tires wear down to the 1.6mm legal limit as they are more prone to aquaplaning. and never use cheep tires.
  20. All the wheels are 8j's the 245 tires rub on the front suspension.
  21. putting 225 instead of 245s will lower the gearing because the rolling radius will be less which will make your speedo read high and use more fuel.
  22. I also hate battery cars and will be keeping my Lexus as long as possible.
