  1. I don't buy online, I don't trust it. I buy all my parts from my local motor factor.
  2. This happened to my car. every time the AC came on she stalled. So I removed the AC fuse and she runs fine. I don't really need AC where I live rarely gets warm and if it does I open the windows lol...
  3. Did you bleed the cooling system? mite be air locked...
  4. Helogen bulbs last a long time if you buy good quality ones. I used to taxi and they lasted for years. my mate had a BMW at the time and replacement Xenon bulbs were a £180 each. Much easier to find £10 or so then £180...
  5. Mine was damaged in 2010 and repaired by Lexus. The bill for it is in with the service history. They did me a favour then lol.. Halogen bulbs are so much cheaper to replace when they blow...
  6. Mine has normal Helagen bulbs. Not sure what year they changed to the deerer HID bulbs...
  7. I don't see why you can't use a cleaner disc. I always had more success removing the top cover and cleaning the lens with a cotton bud with lens cleaner on it. Not sure tho' how to remove the player on the Lexus like on older cars that was easy to remove with pins... Maybe someone else on here can help on how to remove it from the dash...
  8. Removing the battery should not cause any problems other than having to reset the windows. I've had no problems with mine since I charged it up when i posted this...
  9. Fully charged over night on Monday and seems to be holding full charge so far. fingers crossed...
  10. I measured the amp draw with the car unlocked and it's reading .13amps I take it this is the clock and radio settings using this. I mostly only use the car twice a week unless the weather is really bad and this is for round trips of over 20 miles. The battery is 70 amp hour so shouldn't go flat in 4 days. I think I may have left the side lights on and didn't notice the warning buzzer which is working ok...
  11. Nothing seems to last as long anymore. Can't see new cars lasting as long as my Lexus at 18 years old...
  12. Does anyone know of any common problems that cause the battery to go flat other than I have left something on... Car not been used for a few days and battery flat only reading 8volts...
  13. I had an early 90's 2.9 Granada that hit a bad pothole one morning going to work and had to be towed into work to find the inertia switch had triggered...
  14. I do. I trained as a mechanic in the 70's
  15. As you say modern electronics are probly more sophisticated than the 90's cars. I looked in the handbook and can't find anything about this. I was more used to working on cars with points and plugs and carbs. Electronics is over my head.
  16. I mean the switch that cuts power to the petrol pump in a crash so petrol is not spraying everywhere. where I live there is really bad potholes and im expecting this to trigger the inertia switch and I have no idea where it is. This happened me in my first injection car back in the 90's and had to be towed in to work early one morning only to find this switch had triggered and only needed prest in for the car to start... I think all injection cars have this kind of switch now...
  17. Do any of you lads know where the Inertia switch is on my IS250? Thanks
  18. I did away with my pollen filter and my windows clear so much faster. no need for it unless you live in a dusty place...
  19. Its a real pain I used to be able to suck some out for my lawn mower. I now haf to remember my petrol can or its a 10 mile drive to get some, its worse now this new petrol goes off so quick...
  20. I removed all the engine bay covers when I got mine and left them off. They don't do anything other than be in the way when you want to do anything...
  21. Mine was £360 last year. Just got my renewal letter and it's £395 this year...
  22. Road tax up again. £395 for a year really getting out of hand. Wouldn't mind so much if it was spent on repairing our roads that are in a dreadful state...
  23. I know the feeling, I'm finding it hard to do my own repairs now but, don't know any local garages I would trust as I've always done my own.
  24. I fitted a recon which cost just over £300 well over a year ago and have had no problems so far... Brand new Denso £ 180??? Don't think so. Online fake Denso I wouldn't trust anything online. A good quality recon 1 cost me over £300 from Moterfactor.
