  1. The luxury tax is one of the reasons I went with the ES rather than one of the competitors,
  2. I’m quite happy with my premium edition, the fake leather is just as good and really comfy, headlights are great especially with the turn lights that come on when you indicate or steer to light up the direction you are going I guess the front camera would be useful, we have it on my wife’s Nissan x trail and it helps when parking For the price though it has everything you really need and a little more
  3. Lexus have released the ES to us as it has been a huge success in other countries and needed a replacement for the ageing GS until they start swapping all models for electric over the next several years. Did you see the YouTube video of their future models recently the ES does its job as an executive high spec, cheap to own and run option to the usual European boxes I see we are now a hot topic, very exciting 😂
  4. Don’t forget long term value. £40k? Try less than £35k for mine after discounts etc, equivalent 5 series/ E class etc can be got with big discounts too but start just over £40k immediately hitting the owner with luxury tax payments in the future on top of the out of warranty repair bills. And I too agree my car is not flashy and slightly boring etc but that also translates to dependable, safe, efficient
  5. Just looking back and my Jag had a nice rear as well. Maybe I’m attracted to a certain type, 😂
  6. Just been in my garage gym and whilst rowing nowhere looking out I noticed how much of a step you have from the slightly flared rear arch to the door line and then to the window line. The car is so much wider at the hips, something I hadn’t noticed before and it looks really cool. Also the garage lights and the twilight sky really shows off the gold in the paint
  7. I’m guessing the factory has run out of some components for the ES now. I know last year Toyota/Lexus we’re in a good place having stockpiles of bits that others didn’t. last time I spoke to mine over Xmas, they said the shortest wait was on UX electric with delivery within 8 weeks on some version’s
  8. No idea, but I haven’t seen one as small since my breadvan early 80s 3 door polo. The main problem is the height from floor to the wobbly parcel shelf thing. If you need to put in more than a few bags of shopping you are folding the seats and taking out the flexi thingy. the boots were locked in the showroom so I had to look in through the folded seats. I laughed and asked is that on purpose to hide their size from prospective buyers. trim was swapped over very easily, and they even took it round the corner and topped up my petrol as well
  9. Picture of the scratches now sat with my coffee and shortbread just looked in the boot of the UX in front of me, I have seen bigger gloveboxes, 😂
  10. I have watched hours of high praise US reviews of various ES models. Firstly Americans have had the ES a lot longer, secondly they get what it is and is trying to achieve; as in it’s not a performance bred 0-60 car. It’s a comfy, hi spec cruiser like an S class, the size of an E class and cheaper than a C class
  11. I’m in Milton Keynes, it’s a Steven Eagell (Lexus and Toyota only)
  12. Very minor repair tomorrow when I collected I noticed 2 tiny scratches on the chrome trim around drivers window I pointed it out to the salesman doing hand over and before I arrived home I had an email from the site manager asking me to come back in and arrange for a repair. further exchange of emails and calls and they have the new bit of trim which will take half hour to swap, they have given me an exact time to drop in so I’m only their as long as I need to be. They could of picked it up and dropped it back, but for the sake of half hour, a cup of coffee some biscuits and a look around current stock I decided to make the 3 mile journey myself. I will upload before and after photo if I remember
  13. I need to get some more quotes next time, I swapped over on my existing insurers (Lloyds) and mine went up £4 a month even though I am now 7 groups lower than my old XF. Could be worse though the Lexus drive away quote came through at double
  14. The plastic on the lower dash, doors, seat bases. Sorry to say I really didn’t like it
  15. The first one I drive was the brown plastic takumi and (at risk of upsetting) it felt very 80s British Leyland. The other thing I really like in the Lexus interior is no shiny black plastic that scratches when you touch it (Mercedes’ is worst for this at the moment)
  16. Wish I had been brave enough to match you on the interior. I went black in the end as I was worried about denim bleed. I also had some sunshine today and the Mesa does look good, and in the dark under street lights
  17. Arriving in UK means Bristol, from their it goes to Derby (big Toyota delivery hub site, you can see them all lined up in fields on Google map) and then to your dealer. Mine took two weeks from arriving in UK to pick up
  18. Makes my golfing umbrella I got a week before Christmas seem a bit stingy
  19. Just do it through the website and see what you get back https://lexusuk.service123.co.uk/ServicePlan/Quote
  20. Surely you can’t loose, fixed price for 6 years with no inflation added. No big bills every December around Xmas time.
  21. My 3yr one is £34 a month. I plan to keep mine until the 2yrs. Then decide I love it and keep, love it and upgrade or give it back and look elsewhere.
  22. I took the service plan, I would rather pay monthly interest free for the 3yrs than have a big bill every December. I also took the paint insurance as mine is on a PCP so need to make sure she stays looking her best. I traded my Jag on motorway in the end, I got an extra 2.8k over what my Lexus dealer offered. It is now for sale in Derby.
  23. So far so good, does everything I expected. dealer gave me a free umbrella as well because it is my first Lexus Pioneer sounds good enough using CarPlay as source colour looks great in showroom
