  1. My '52 GS300 occasionally snatches between 2nd and 3rd when accelerating, as though the car forgets to ease off the throttle when changing.
  2. Closest I can find (in the RS catalogue) to what Mike's after is PMA COFLEX Retro-Fit. Expensive, though, and probably a bit big too (smallest is 18.7mm outer diameter!). For braid, try here (plastic braid) or here (metal braid). As Mr Singh pointed out, stop the ends from fraying with heat-shrink sleeving.
  3. Just had a look through an old set of CBEST settings, nothing there. Don't know if anything was added since, though.
  4. The PUK code will be asked for if the PIN is entered incorrectly three times in a row. It'll be O2 that you get in touch with, as I believe it's the SIM card that's locked in this case, not the phone. Have your SIM card number handy when you call them. You might need a bill or other customer details to hand, too. DON'T try to guess the PUK code, if you screw this one up the SIM locks up permanently.
  5. Might be worth ringing up the cop shop regularly, quoting your crime number and asking what's happening regarding compensation, seeing as the cops caught them!
  6. Weather was fantastic, as was the food (I was the only greedy b*****d who went for the full three course meal, though! Spent the afternoon on the beach with Mat and his wife and kids, enjoyed watching Mat tackle the seemingly impossible tasks of (i) keeping his eldest happy and (ii) stopping the youngest from devouring the beach, as she seemed to like the taste of Weymouth sand! All in all, spent a nice week in Weymouth! Oh, one more thing, I feel I must extend thanks to the owner of BuildRite Trade & DIY Supplies Ltd. Not only did he let me use his car park for a Quik Detailer pit-stop that morning, he also offered me a bucket of water to clean the car (didn't need it, though). Pity he's got a BMW X5 and not an RX, eh?
  7. Yes, it did (I'd have posted sooner but only got back from Weymouth yesterday morning!) Peter026 was there with his missus. Mr. Morse was there with Baby Shake. Monster Mat was there with his family, in his Pajero. I was there. Someone was there in an RX300, completely oblivious to the gathering (myself and Mike both had LOC T-shirts on, for Chri$t's sake!), a few peeps went past, too (white Mk.1 GS springs to mind). Expensive beer, fantastic food, perfect weather. Nice!
  8. I'm happy with the gold ones on mine (Canterbury Blue). Midas Touch do emblems (often a link at the bottom of these pages), but check eBay first.
  9. Not built to last - or built not to last? Hmmm...
  10. On the ones I fitted this week (LPA400) there's an optional switch that can be fitted in the boot to disable the sensors (if towing, for example). Look in the boot for a round switch about 2cm in diameter. Failing that check the wiring (and your reverse lights for that matter), they'll take a feed from the red wire with black stripe.
  11. I seem to remember seeing it as one of the options in the CBEST list, so the dealer should be able to do it.
  12. Had an e-mail off the guy selling them (his name's Sid James!) Part numbers 81170-53050 and 81130-53050 are on the boxes.
  13. High beam (sold individually) Use your existing bulbs for the rest. You'll also need to buy a pair of ballasts if they're not built into the headlight assembly.
  14. Unit, Headlamp, LH GXE10, JCE10..RHD W(Discharge Headlamp) 81170-53050- Prod. date 0107-0308 Unit, Headlamp, RH GXE10, JCE10..RHD W(Discharge Headlamp) 81130-53050- Prod. date 0107-0308 I see no headlamps that are JCE10-specific, but there are several GXE10-specific ones. I've also noticed that the GXE10 headlamps from 9901-0207 (81170-53030/81130-53030) can be replaced with those from 0207-0308 (81170-53090/81130-53090). I've asked the seller for the part numbers, that'll be a big help.
  15. Item no. 4556782285, ends 22-Jun-2005 20:53
  16. Toyota in Builth Wells also use Pro Align kit, theirs is the SPACE 800 model though, not the 900. Impressive to see these machines in action.
  17. Got stuff to do on Saturday, so will be driving straight down Sunday morning.
