  1. If you ever see a cheap Starion at auction, snap it up. My mate picked up a widebody Starion for £500 recently, spent about another £500 on it, then sold it for £2,300!
  2. Pics of a GS300 fuel filter here. Looking at diagrams it should be on the RHS of the engine (viewed from the front). Follow the metal fuel pipes back until they become rubber hoses. Should be at the other end, where the two hoses join together, mounted front-to-back with a bracket on the top. The flared-out end points towards the back of the car. Check that the pipes haven't corroded before you take it off. My Carina used to have the pipes changed at the same time as the filter due to corrosion, and Toyota wouldn't change the fuel filter on my Mk.1 for the same reason.
  3. With twin electric fans? Don't know, then - on the Toyota EPC that model's got a single fan, driven by the engine. Checked USA, General, Europe, even the Japan discs (the Celsior had a hydraulic motor instead of an electric one!) Have you asked over on the US forums?
  4. Miss Pritch.......as I live and breathe. A GS, eh ? Certainly a cut above that Japanese station wagon you almost killed us in on our way up to Worcester that time. It's a small world........ ← Oh aye, my old '82 Corolla estate. You wouldn't be referring to the little "cutting up" incident, would you? :P
  5. FER6Y - that wouldn't be your yellow Ferrari, would it? (reg. checked using eBay)
  6. Remember that if your car gets nicked, the coppers won't be able to stop the thieves with a Stinger - they'll just keep on going!
  7. I'm on my second GS now. To be honest you probably wouldn't want to replace the radio that's there, they really are that good. Double-din faceplates for the 1995-2000 LS can be found at http://www.installer.com/kits/ Eibach do lowering springs for the LS. Shop around for 'em. By the way, welcome to the club, Beard. (two diskssss.....) :winky:
  8. Speak to your local Trading Standards department. Carcraft are scumbags. Carcraft in Newport used to be Carcraft @ Empress, which used to be Empress, also renowned scumbags. Check out the following BBC Radio 4 link:- Complaints made against the biggest car supermarket in the UK
  9. It may well be able to produce different tones, but not sounding like they're from different parts of the car! Coming from a bill? What do you mean?
  10. I take it this is an LS430, not an LS400 (I've looked through Toyota's Electronic Parts Catalog and the LS400s appear to have a single fan that's driven by the engine). The fans are controlled by the "cooling fan computer" mounted nearby. Look for a small, finned block that's mounted at an angle near the radiator. Part number is 89257-30040, fits LS430 from August 2000 onwards, and nothing else. Worth checking its connections. Also there's a temperature sensor down to the left of the throttle body as you're looking from the front. Apparently it's a water temperature sensor for the E.F.I., but other stuff might read it, too. Parn number is 89422-30030, once again it only fits the LS430. Hope this helps.
  11. valvecaps' times seem to be a bit better this time round. When trading as mandeoluk he took three weeks to send mine out and eventually got kicked off eBay after having 6 complaints in one week.
  12. I think that was the colour of my Mk.1 :D
  13. We've got the gyppoes round our way for the Royal Welsh Show this week. Apparently Boots have had to post staff on the door, they've been nicking so much! FIVE armed response units were at the site on the weekend, too. Viz described them pretty accurately here! :D
  14. I'd expect it to be the same buzzer, however dangerous warnings would be accompanied by some other indication on the dash. How could you react to an audible-only warning if you were deaf, for example? Switch the headlights on, open the driver's door, try and find out where the warning noise is coming from, whatever it is pull the plug out of the back, then go for a 130km/h drive and see if the car pipes up about it.
  15. 1998 LS models had CBEST, but I've had a trawl through the list and can't find a speed warning option. CBEST settings can be found here. More stuff about the settings can be found here. Why not put a disable switch on the warning buzzer?
  16. I don't fancy ripping out the carpet to double-check, but the top of the strut can be felt through it if you poke about. As far as I can tell the figure you're after is 102cm, 40".
  17. Try Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Tx. Guy to speak to is Darrel Diller.
  18. That's a fantastic job. Nice job of the wall, too. Do they give Gold Discount? :P
  19. Bought lower ball joints for my Mk.1 GS from them. Fantastic service. Discount for mentioning LOC, too!
  20. All you need now is a Friday 13th or Scream mask to put on ready for when they turn round!
  21. Paying off your credit card? In other words, you were unloading cash. Like a Securicor van, only (hopefully) less money.
