I went to a dealer who's not on the list, and I STILL saved the cost of membership.

Fitted mine lunchtime. Bracket doesn't fit the GS, but I should be able to bend it to fit, sits there quite nicely in the meantime. Bit scary when I first pulled off, car limped up the hill and across the car park before picking up! Presumably the ECU didn't know what to make of the new intake at first. If it still gives me hassle this evening I'll reset it.

Mothering Sunday

South Wales Police now have a pair of 05-plate RX300s. Silver, battenburg livery, light bar, the works. One's based in Treforest, the other Swansea. Was chatting to two cops sitting in one in Aberdare on Saturday night, very pleased with it. Nice to see that the dash hasn't been butchered to take the police radio, it's on the centre console between the seats.

Go to fasterfilters.co.uk rather than buying off eBay, if I'd done that I'd have saved a tenner (dearer on eBay due to fees!). Got a K&N Typhoon arriving any day now. For the IS300, should fit (or I should say, it had BETTER fit) my GS.

Damage

Mate of mine's got the Canon MV650. Got a big battery too, I transferred 3 hours of DV tape to the PC and only used about a quarter of it!

Gas

Check your head-unit has permanent and switched 12V the right way round. If this isn't it, and it's not something daft like a courtesy light, one by one, remove each fuse and put an ammeter across the contacts in the fuse-box, you should suddenly see a power draw when you're across the affected circuit (avoid pulling the ECTS and ECU fuses unless absolutely necessary as these feed the ECU and transmission). To give you some idea, a 1 amp load would run the battery flat in about 3 days, that's what I'd be looking out for. That should help you pinpoint the fault.

I still haven't got the key-scratch out of my bonnet properly, yet! Going to try and do a perfect job of fixing my Kärcher-blasted bumper first, then have another shot at the scratch. Pity they didn't do it outside my house, got 3 CCTV cameras (and a pan-tilt-zoom speed-dome to fit soon!)
