  1. The security code has been set by one of the previous owners. It can be customised, or disabled. I no longer have a Mk.1 GS so I'm afraid I can't tell you how to set, change or cancel it. You'll need:- User manual (it's fiddly to do) THE CODE (ask the former keeper(s))
  2. Sensors required front and back in order to determine the angle of the car relative to the ground. If the back's heavily laden, the sensor will detect that it's closer to the ground than usual, making the front end point higher, and correct the lights accordingly.
  3. See page 3 of the US CBEST list, namely the AUTO LOCK, LOCK/SHIFT BRKE and AUTO LOCK/SHIFT options. Wouldn't mind getting one of these switched on on mine at the next service.
  4. Keep your spirits up! A lad in work with me had a brain tumour the size of a GRAPEFRUIT :o removed. Remained in VERY good spirits during radiotherapy (presumably because his blinding headaches had now gone), is now back in work and was recently given the all-clear. Good luck!
  5. She'll be expecting a surprise, then. Hide the MR2 in the garage (if you have one), leave it in there for her to find eventually. As for the airport collection, use the Starlet instead, and act like you've not been up to ANYTHING. :P Oh hang on, who the hell am I to tell you what to pick her up in and what to surprise her with? :P :P :P
  6. Was talking to a guy who worked for Sony the other day, he said he never buys Sony, and he'd even get staff discount! They seem to be all about looks and style, nothing about performance and reliability these days. Their Digiboxes are stylish but slow, their games consoles are stylish but burn out their drives due to poor design, their TVs are stylish but when they break down it's cheaper to buy new. Do I need to go on?
  7. Lexus Nottingham are selling one, same age, same mileage, same spec, £30,650 on AutoTrader, just to give you some idea of what they're outing them for. Cheapest 04 SE-L is £27,500 with half the mileage.
  8. Looks like a hatchback. Hope it's a hatchback, 'cos that picture shows an awfully small boot-lid for a saloon!
  9. What are you saying about the BBC and the RX ← Ummm, the top post is a clue, where peter026 said
  10. Welcome to the club. Cracking deal there, 16,000 is barely run in. Then again, for Lexus 60,000 is barely run in!
  11. Here's a picture of the arse-end of the amp. What do you think? :D
  12. Definitely worth booking a test drive or two :P
  13. Dammit, you could've put me down as a referrer, I'd get 50p off per month then!
  14. For speakers, buy a cheap amp and speaker setup from Richer Sounds, as Derek pointed out. When it comes to PC speakers, it doesn't matter whether it claims to put out 200 watts or 1,200 watts - PMPO figures are a load of bull. The RMS figure gives the true power of an amp. £180 spent at Richer Sounds will get you a Yamaha RXV350 AV receiver that puts out 90W RMS per channel, plus a Yamaha NSP100 six-speaker package to go with it. The sub has its own 100W amp built-in, so you've got a total of 550 watts RMS to annoy the neighbours with! Oh, don't forget to take out the Richer Sounds Supercare warranties, they're dirt cheap and you can cash them back in if you don't use them! Even more info on the RXV350 here and the NSP100 here.
  15. I just thought I'd correct the lack of double entendres in that reply, BobB!
  16. Will be joining the club soon. Car's going in to get a Romano autogas system fitted on Monday, should get the car back Wednesday. Around £1700 inc. VAT for the whole shebang.
  17. I'd put money on him commencing with a K&N Typhoon! ;)
