I wouldn't bother with the FriendTech 1.466GHz modified Xboxes, I believe they're a bit problematic. A standard, chipped Xbox running XBMC will do the job nicely as you don't really need HD stuff in a car PC setup. The upside is that it's cheap for the spec of machine you get. The downside is that it's a bit of a lump, even without the 300W inverter needed to run it!

Having heard Raz doing his stuff, I can't imagine him doing this, it's not quite his thing, is it? Top marks for Raz's performance on Saturday night by the way!

My fave's the slutty looking one in the top pic! I think she was the one who was chatting to me and Ryo as we cruised past the RideTones stand (why walk when you've got aircon?), reckoned the RideTones stuff was a bit to chavvy for my car!

But would it fit in the car? :P I think Maneesh is looking along the lines of Mini-ITX boards, not a tower PC in the boot! Obviously he wants a blue screen of death to go with his blue paintwork and blue strut-brace!

Got home about ½ an hour ago (stopped for grub at one services and a nap at another). Was watching everyone wearing bin bags as I darted out of one of the GS's (the one with the TVs in the headrests) to grab a box of cans from the boot of mine!

Steer clear of Tiscali, their customer service sucks big time (they've ignored two requests to close my account and have sent me a bill for the next 3-month period, insisting that it's paid - going to Trading Standards on Monday...)

Buy an Accumate off eBay, you can leave it connected to the battery all the time you're away, it'll keep it in tip-top shape. Accumates come with two cables. One terminates in a normal set of crocodile clips, the other is fused and terminates in a pair of ring terminals. Putting the car on charge is then simply a case of parking it in the garage, popping the bonnet, plugging the cables from the Accumate into the mains and the cable on the battery, then walking away. You can even drop the bonnet and set the alarm, it'll run the lot quite happily. Don't buy the closely-related Optimate, they're for bike batteries and can't handle the big boys.

Chillers feeding our server room kept tripping out today, reached at least 36°C in there! We've shut down most of the servers for the night and dragged portable coolers in there just to get the temperature down!

I want one. Unfortunately, I also want to afford one! Will be a while before a second-hand 400h falls within my price range, unless ERNIE's feeling generous!

Had 'em sweep a big chunk of our number range the other week, trying to sell mobile phones. I had "Raj" on the phone, who was quite surprised when I told him I spend £220 per month on my mobile, and get no inclusive calls ("two-hundrd-n-twenty-pound-oh-my-gott!" was his excited exclamation). He then proceeded to offer me some fantastic deal for £20 per month instead. The mock-Indian accent (don't know why I slipped into it) didn't deter him. The karaoke echo mike I received a few Christmases ago didn't deter him. Pressing Recall and diverting him to the fax machine upset him though, especially when he rang back, a colleague picked up and told him that he had no way of finding out who "Raj" had just been speaking to! Trading Standards dept up the corridor (they got calls as well) kept a seller on the phone for about ten minutes, then said they weren't interested. :P

apart from the folding mirrors and the Toyota steering wheel, that is!
