  1. Do you need a decicated device to do this, or could it be done with any Android tablet/iPad?
  2. I'm in two minds about oil additives, as you hear some stories of success, and some where it makes no difference. Additionally, in the case of the OP, where he reports some success, it's hard to tell whether that's the result of the Marvel Mystery Oil, or simply the effect of doing several 2-3k mile oil changes in quick succession.
  3. Worst appliance I bought was a vegetable drainer, but it took 24 days to drain the vegetables... ...it was an advent colander.
  4. Buy more clothes, I say Malc. I used to put a wash on once a week, based on when I run out of clean socks and boxers. So, I just bought more socks and boxers, and now the machine goes on once a fortnight 🙂
  5. Including a manual electric car. https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-electrified/
  6. Yes, Brazil are favourites, with France second favourites. Argentina are next, followed by England. I'm unsure about England as, whilst they've won their matches convincingly, their opponents so far haven't been top level ones. That said, they've probably got one of the best squads, where team changes don't detract from the overrall dynamic. So, if games go to right to the end, or even extra time, they have an advantage with fresh legs. Saturday will be the big test though, if they can beat France they can beat anyone.
  7. Good news with the tyre pressure. Couple of things to try regarding the noises. Remove the rear cover entirely for the time being, and then check that the rear seats are firmly locked in place. Also, if you haven't already done so, lift up the floor of the rear cargo area and check that the spare wheel, battery and toolkit are all firmly secured, and that there's nothing else loose in there that could be getting shaken up.
  8. This afternoon I was driving down some roads with a lot of speedbumps so, with this thread in mind, I thought I'd take them with a bit more speed than usual and see what I noticed. Yes, it was a bit bumpy, but more bouncy than harsh, but there were no creaks or rattles at all when I took the bumps.
  9. I also have Michelin Crossclimates at 35psi and, apart from speed bumps, find the ride smooth and quiet. Regarding your rattles, check that the rear seats are fully secured, as that can cause rattles. Also, if you feel that the car is rolling/swaying and think there might be a problem, see if your local dealer does a free winter health check. I had one done last year and they check over things like suspension, brakes, tyres fluid levels, so worth getting done if they do it.
  10. That seems harsh, as I recall recently reading on another thread that someone had their control arms replaced for worn bushes, under the 10 year plus extended warranty. Don't know if Relax warranty is the same. What are they saying is wrong with them? Are they saying they must be replaced, or is it just an advisory on their health check?
  11. Also, if you're concerned about possible punctures on expensive tyres, then it's worth having a look at National Tyres. They do a lifetime warranty on tyres they sell for £7.99 a tyre.
  12. In the past it used to be mobile phone operators, who offered to supply and maintain CCTV free to local authorities, in exchange for being able to put in a cell site.
  13. I doubt I can help much, but here are my thoughts regarding your questions: 1. Given its location, then yes. 2. Yes. Doubt a body shop would check for transmission damage. 3. If there were problems with the transmission, then yes. Continued driving with fault lights, without knowing the cause, always carries the possibility of further damage. Probably not. 4. Possibly, see 3. 5. Who can say. My advice would be to bounce it back to your insurance company, with all the reports/inspection info you have. Also, if you have legal cover with your insurance, it might be worth getting them involved.
  14. Hi Joe, I'll answer what I can. 1. For the leather seats, have a look at the Furniture Clinic, they do a leather repair paint. They can match to colour code, if they have it, otherwise they can match to a sample. On mine I found that I could cut a bit of excess leather from one of the front headrests after removing it. I've used on a previous car with ivory leather, and on my current one with pale grey, and found it will cure all but the worst cracks/creases. It's simple to use, just wipe on with a sponge and leave to dry, takes about a minute a seat. 3. I found the satnav awful to use, and so I stick to using Google maps or Waze on my phone, which are much better. 6. You need to make sure the parcel shelf, and the rear seats, are firmly locked in place to reduce any rattling. You could also try sticking some thin padding in the mounts if yours is bad.
  15. Replacing those heavy wheels is one thing I definitely don't enjoy. You're probably right that lack of use during covid accounted for your corrosion. I dont think the atom-mac would be very long lasting on the disc surfaces, but you don't need to remove the wheels to use it, I just give the discs a quick spray each time I wash the wheels. It does get into all the crevices though, so probably provides longer protection there.
  16. Barry, you might want to check out Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac. It's a water based corrosion inhibitor, so safe to use on brake discs. You dilute it at 5% (so it goes a long way), and spray it wherever you like.
  17. Indeed, that would be my choice Malcolm. Although, if things were provided on a monthly subscription, I might consider a lower spec one, and only rent the heated seats in the colder months 😉
  18. I suppose, but the argument would be that it was fitted with a capability that wasn't yet paid for. A bit like a cable tv box that is capable of receiving premium channels, but they're only made available once you pay a subscription. Essentially, the old option is to pay to have a new capability supplied and fitted by a garage, against the new option of it already being fitted, and you pay to have it switched on. Swings and roundabouts, depending on costs, and the latter could ultimately be more convenient.
  19. If they're the same then I would think so. Personally, I've never understood the wheel rotation thing to get even wear across all four tyres, as I'd rather be replacing 2 tyres at a time than the cost of replacing all four in one go.
  20. Probably, but to what practical extent I don't know. I can say that I haven't noticed any change in mpg since fitting my aliexpress ones.
  21. I would assume so, but it might depend on whether they consider them worn enough to need replacing. As for the roof, I would also imagine it would be covered, as the seals can't be replaced independently, in the same way that control arms are replaced when bushes are worn.
  22. The Gummi Pfledge I bouught is a llquid in a plastic bottle, with a sponge applicator on top. Goes on easily, like those shoe polish things.
  23. I'm not aware of anything being greased when serviced but, once a year, when I give the undersides a spray of rustproofing, I go around all the hinges with a can of WD40 white lithium grease spray, as well as giving all the rubber seals a wipe with Gummi Pfledge. Only takes a few minutes.
  24. I believe that the renewed warranty covers you for the full 12 months, even if the car has gone over the 10yr mark in the interim. Others will correct me if I'm wrong. After that you've got the option of the 10yr+ extended warranty, which is around £540 pa for an RX.
  25. Brilliant, thanks Phil. I just checked my emails and saw that the dealership emailed me the pdf the day they set it up. Thanks also for the heads up on the LRA, as I can stop waiting in vain for documentation on that to arrive.
