  1. Well I live within a 1/4 mile of mobile masts and we get an excellent coverage with speeds of 140mbs on 4G and BG tell me the reason I cannot always connect the app to the charger is because of a poor signal. My smart meter works well on 2G so I suspect there is a problem with the charger. I am on my second now which is a lot better but still drops out. I think BG need to rethink their responce
  2. If it's any help, I sat in the BZ4 the other day and there was plenty of headroom for me and more than my new NX. I'm 6'.
  3. I was in my dealers the other day and specifically asked if they have any run flat tyres in stock. They acknowledged that they are having serious problems getting tyres and are working hard to resolve this. I made it clear that if Lexus have sold me a car I can't get a replacement tyre for if needed I would expect them to supply me with a car for the duration. They said they would "come to some arrangement" if required. Otherwise I presume you could reject the car as "unfit for purpose" if they can't provide such a basic thing as a Tyre. I hope I don't get to find out.
  4. They actually did change my first one because it would only connect occasionally. They subsequently said it was a faulty modem. The new one connected first time and was fine for a few weeks and then started dropping out. This has gradually got worse and goes down muliple times a day.
  5. Very interesting. This morning I again spoke to the electrician who fitted it and he has given me a different story. He from day one repeatedly told me that it is a roaming sim card and I must be in a weak signal area. I again mentioned connecting to WI-FI and he said he had checked with the office and there is no facility to connect the Alfen to WI-FI and no plans to introduce it. Must admit I have never heard of a Easee charger but I will call him again and mention this to him and see what he says.
  6. Many thanks., I will ask the question. I also have a local Toyota dealer around 10 miles away who would always do warranty work on my previous Lexus cars but stopped doing this a couple of years ago. They told me Lexus no longer allow them to do this and they had also stopped them accessing the Lexus database. A pity really because it was more convenient.
  7. Hi everyone. I keep getting reminders to get this done ASAP and have booked it in for Thursday next week. As this involves a 200 mile round trip, does anyone know if Lexus compensate you for the cost of petrol? I don't want to sound petty, but I don't see why I should pick up the tab for this with a new car especially with fuel prices at the moment.
  8. I had front and rear fitted by my dealer also on the last two cars. Have to agree it is a pain trying to download to the app so I take the SD card out and download to the computer which is much easier in my opinion.
  9. I have it in HV mode and sport setting which combines the engine and electric motor and it goes very well indeed!
  10. That's interesting. I asked my electrician if it would work off wi-fi as I have a strong signal in the garage. He told me it was impossible as it wasn't designed for this only 2G. I think I will mention this to him and see what he says.
  11. Firstly. we live literally 300 yards away from a mobile mast and have excellent coverage in the area. I am with EE and get 140mbs on 4G which is more than good. When I first rang BG about the problem they suggested I was in a poor signal area which obviously I am not. I have got to know the electrician who installed it quite well as he lives a couples of miles away and I know from him that other people are having issues. It cant all be down to poor signals as far as I am concerned. I have just charged the car and I confirm that I don't have a white standby light. It goes green when I plug in and changes to blue when it starts charging and that is it. I am not sure if there is a problem with these chargers but signal certainly is not a problem in my area.
  12. I have Hive for heating etc but this Hive charger is a nightmare. First one fitted would not connect to the app. Various things were tried and eventually they concluded the unit was faulty and replaced it under warrant without any fuss which impressed me. The new one worked fine for about a week and was then repeatedly showing off line and will only work on rare occasions which is quite frustrating. The electrician who fitted it rang me to ask how I was getting on and I told him the problem. He said he has another customer about 5 miles away who has the same problem and BG will investigate. They have now come back and concluded we have a problem with 2G in the area and that's why we have problems connecting. Whether or not this is true I don't know but it is annoying not seeing the data although it charges ok. Not impressed to be honest with the charger but at least BG tried to fix it.
  13. I pre ordered one about a month ago mainly to be high on the list when deliveries start. The only perk I can see (not sure if it is a perk) is that the price they announce in August will not change even if deliveries are delayed and prices rise in the meantime. Of course, the price might be too high for me when announced but we shall see. I want an EV going forward and having owned Lexus cars for a number of years this would be my preferred choice if everything pans out ok.
  14. I occasionally have the same problem where my trips disappear for a few days then magically some - but not all -return. I spoke to Lexus about this and they told me to delete the app and then restore. I have done this a number of times but I still get the problem. With regards to sending a destination to the car nav, I cannot find a way of sending to the car (as I did with my previous NX) and so far Lexus have not provided any solution or answers to this which I find disappointing
  15. Why should you accept it? I have had a number of new Lexus cars overs the years and most have had no hint of a noise or rattle but on a couple (including my new NX) there is a rattle at the back on a bumpy road. The dealer will sort it out. That's what they are there for. Do not accept any rattle/noise from a new car.
  16. Not sure whether you have seen the new "My Lexus" website which has a different look and a few more features. It says I reached a speed of 135MPH over the weekend and in the driving analytics I averaged 84 mph on the M5. It also shows me parked 2 miles from my home when the car is on the drive.
  17. Did you pay £86 for a tethered cable? They tried to charge me for the cable but I queried it and they removed it. The BG installation was totally free and all I paid was for an isolator to be fitted.
  18. My car is affected but the dealer has no information on what they are required to do yet as they are waiting for Lexus to provide details in a service bulletin
  19. Didn't realise that. In fact I'm finding some of the settings confusing and I still can't get to grips with the the touch sensitive buttons let alone my profile which keeps disappearing.
  20. Just for interest, my wife always leaves a shopping bag (don't ask) on the back seat and when I turn the engine off a warning comes on the dash saying "check rear seat) and when I lock the door I get 5 loud bleeps and a warning flashes up on the screen again. Quite annoying really.
  21. My wallbox is being fitted this Monday. The only annoying thing is that I have to pay £96 to have a tethered cable. The reason being I ticked the wrong box on the website and although I soon realised my mistake, I contacted BG and they said I had to pay extra for the cable as I hadn't specified it at the time. Must be more careful next time I tick boxes
  22. BG told me once the isolator was fitted they give me a firm date. I pushed the DNO I've finally had the isolator fitted last week at a cost of £231. BG said once it was fitted to send them a photo and they would arrange an installation date. So far I have had nothing back and they are not responding to emails and I have so far spent the last 30 minutes waiting on hold and finally gave up even though my call was "important to them" I'm not sure what else I can do to speed things up. I've got the car and currently charging from a 13amp socket. With regards to the fuse, my DNO say they always fit 80 amp fuses as standard and that's what I have which is fine for the load.
  23. My DNO will fit my isolator this Friday with the cost being £231 + VAT. A rip off but I have no choice. When I mentioned BG charge £48 they said they were quite happy for BG to install it and they would come and connect it to their system. However they wanted £160 + VAT to connect so I thought it was easier for them to do the lot rather than coordinate two separate engineers. They will change the main fuse for free though which I suppose is a bonus.
