RZ 450 delivery
John Adams replied to John Adams's topic in Lexus RZ Owners Club - All-New Electric Lexus
Just read that the useable battery capacity is 64 kwh which means you need to get 3.9 miles/kwh to get 250 miles which I would doubt it would get near. -
RZ 450 delivery
John Adams replied to John Adams's topic in Lexus RZ Owners Club - All-New Electric Lexus
I suppose it all depends on the weather and how you drive. I was expecting it to be at least 3 miles/kwh in everyday mixed driving which in theory would give a minimum 210 miles or so. On the UK test drive videos I've seen on You Tube for the BZ4 they are claiming a real world range of around 220 miles. On the BZ4 I drove I couldn't get better than 2.9 miles/kwh with gentle driving around town which was disappointing. My NX gets better than this is the same situation. I doubt very much that the Lexus would achieve 250 miles in general driving as this would equate to around 3.5 miles/kwh but we will see. If on the Lexus test drive I can't get at least 3 miles/kwh then I will cancel -

Yes, I did 150 miles in it, 50 miles around town and around 100 miles at 60mph on A roads and a bit of motorway. I reset the trips for around town and again before the longer trip to see what I could get. My NX gets a better figure around town. I think there was 10% left. I expect better for 72K -
RZ 450 delivery

I pre ordered mine last May. Got an email last November confirming order now in place but nothing since. Dealer has said likely June delivery. Like you still waiting for test drive to see if it is any good. I had an extended test drive in the BZ4 last week and was impressed so expecting good things from Lexus. The only thing that let it down was the range. Even driving gently it only got 2.9 miles/kwh. At a steady 60 mph the best I got was 2.5 miles/kwh. This was the front wheel drive version so the Lexus will be worse. That will be the killer for me. -
I understand what you say and agree with most of what you say.. But be aware, exceeding the speed limit by 40% is likely to be more than 3 points. I got 6 points and a £1000 fine foe doing 28% over the limit on a deserted M5 in the middle of the night. When/if she gets the summons I would seek the advice of a solicitor because these days motorists are the devil

RZ 450 delivery

2K? -
Is there anyone who has pre ordered the RZ been given an update on delivery ? I am having to push the dealer very hard to get any info at all and have been given various dates since I pre ordered in May 22. I was originally told delivery would be March this year with a demo available to test drive in February before I confirmed the order. I received an email on 2 September 22 from Lexus HQ thanking me for the order and that it was now in the programme to be built but it is not showing in the App as my NX was. Spoke to the dealer before Christmas and I was told delivery was now likely June but the demo car should still be available in February. I rang today about a test drive in February and was told the demo is now not likely to turn up before March and possibly April. When pushed he also explained delivery of my car be pushed back but not sure by how much. I am seriously considering cancelling given no firm delivery and also the tax advantage for private buyers will soon disappear when a retrospective road tax will be applied from 2025. Given also the problems with charging which I have witnessed a lot on the motorway recently I think the electric dream for me is losing it's appeal. Any info from anyone would be appreciated

NX 450 + Rubber mats
John Adams replied to Mobeam's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Lexus may not actually make them, but the question was can anybody recommend a good supplier/good quality tailored rubber mats for front footwell and boot areas. Well Lexus are certainly a good supplier and they supplied mine. -

Another recall for my Gen 2 NX

But Lexus UK have just told me it is not their policy to replenish fuel for warranty and recall work. It must be dealer specific who decide what to do. -

Hi Ken I have received a response from Lexus UK to say that it is not their policy to reimburse fuel costs for a recall no matter how long the distance. So it is obviously dealer specific when it comes to paying fuel costs. Looks like I might need to find myself another dealer. -

Hi Ken I've asked Lexus UK for their policy on this and will report back when they reply -

Hi Ken As reported before, my dealer flatly refuses to pay for petrol as "it is no longer Lexus policy". As it is a 240 mile round trip for these 2 recalls I'm not too happy. Not sure whether to contact Lexus HQ and ask for clarification -

Hi Kevin If you have your cars driven down for such a long way, do you have any problems with damage? I'm thinking in particular of stone chips which is a pet hate of mine. -

Thanks Kevin, hadn't seen this video. I think I need to have a few test drives to see how I get on. -

John Adams replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Hi Kevin As I have said, I've never had a problem except in the last 18 months. I was with Toyota since 1976 and never had a problem and then moved to Lexus in 2003 but have only ever used 2 Lexus dealerships. I'm getting to the stage where I don't want to go and find a new dealer but may have to. A neighbour of mine swears by BMW and buys new every 18 months or so. He knows the dealer principle and has passed my name to him. He rang and we had a good chat and I might go and see what they can offer. I don't even know who the principle is at Lexus let alone ever spoken to him. As it is only 10 miles away it is more convenient that a 120 mile trip to Lexus. I'm still reluctant to move from Lexus but we shall see. The iX1 looks tempting! With regards to the UX300e I would be tempted because the new upgrade is good. But the downer with me is they are still sticking with Chademo which is a backward step. anyway All the best John -

Well I've been called many things in my time but never a Gold Nugget!!!. I did speak to a senior person on Saturday but not the principle but I will soon. To be honest I got nowhere and I think I'm getting to old now to bother. I was particularly peeved to be told that it's not Lexus UK policy to pay petrol for a recall. This is absolute nonsense as on many occasions they have compensated for unscheduled recalls most notably the old IS 250 dash rattle where they looked after me very well. But the least they have done is fill the tank and wash the car. The problem with this dealer is the high turnover of staff in recent months meaning the people I knew well have now left and the new ones seem to lack interest in building a relationship. I know one guy has gone to MB. Might give him a call and look at some Mercs. -

To put this in perspective, I have been a customer of Lexus since 2003 and purchased 11 new vehicles in that time. So you would think I would be a valued customer and they would look after me. Well, up to about 18 months ago they did. They were extremely helpful and went the last mile to sort out any problems I might have. In short, superb customer service. Now though, they never ring back when they say, have refused point blank to pay refuelling costs for the recalls (120 mile round trip each time) and have yet to sort out a multitude of albeit small problems. This never happened in the past. I ordered the RZ450 in May and despite many promises they never ring back with any update. As this is a 72k car, I'm tempted to cancel as there are a lot of cars out there with better range for a lower price and I doubt any worse customer service. To be honest, I am losing faith in Lexus and it's probably time to jump ship. Perhaps it's me but I do expect better before everyone shoots me down! -
Another recall for my Gen 2 NX
John Adams replied to Andy B's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I know that in the past -on the rare occasions I have had to take a car in for unscheduled work- they have paid for petrol. I remember on the old IS250 a few years back when I took it in to have the dashboard rattle fixed there was a bottle of wine and a bunch of flowers for my wife on the back seat. Those were the days. I will clarify this with the dealer before I agree to take the car in. -

I thought that was the policy but when I went in for the last recall I asked and they refused. As I say, 240 miles for recalls is not cheap and also time consuming.
