  1. Fill up with momentum? Is that the new nett zero petrol?
  2. Just got back from my regular 400 mile round trip to London area. Approx. 300 miles motorway and 100 mile across country. Cruise set to 70 mph on motorway and ambient temp between 16-18 deg c. Got overall 3.2 miles/kwh which is lower than my usual average but still good.
  3. Len, all you would do is buy the annual subscription which is currently £114.50. Obviously this would probably go up but it would certainly work out cheaper than paying for each prescription. Certainly for what we both take each month
  4. At least you got a laugh. When I said I was on the pill she wrote it down without question. A laugh would go a long way in instances like this.
  5. Len, you are so right about the number of managers. At our hospital they are proliferating and coming up with all these wonderful ideas. You won't believe this- but I am not joking- but when I went for a scan a few weeks ago, the receptionist asked me a few questions. Do I need a translator, what is my preferred language of communication and then to cap it all I was asked if I was or could I be pregnant. Honestly I couldn't believe it. A man of my age. I was told this was their new diversity policy and that I had to answer. I know what I would have liked to have said but they would probably have kicked me out. So I said I didn't think I was pregnant because I am on the pill. This was accepted without question. What has this country come to?
  6. I should add that at the time my ultimate boss was Lord King who was a favourite of Maggie. He was as tough as nails and wouldn't stand any nonsense. Maggie made him Chairman of BA which at the time was a basket case. I remember the unions threatening an all out strike to bring the airline to standstill. He told them in no uncertain terms that if they did that, he would close the airline for good. Whether he meant it or not, it worked and unions gave in. I often wonder what his reaction today would be to all the current employments laws and woke nonsense. Different times then but good memories for me.
  7. Well I'm of that "certain age" and I remember John Harvey- Jones with fondness. Met him a few times and not only was he a gentleman, but he was extremely knowledgeable. I think we need more people of his calibre now in the business world
  8. Matt, 3 miles/kwh at 11 deg temp is good on the motorway. I'm expecting mine to do that next week in similar temperatures. Prior to the update, I was getting about 2.8 miles/kwh last November at around 11/12 degrees.
  9. Matt, since the update, mine regularly shows 220 miles full which is fairly accurate. However I have seen some impressive figures on the motorway in warm weather. I regularly do a 400 mile round trip to the London area. With the cruise set at 70MPH, I have regularly achieved 3.6miles/kwh. On one 80 mile stint between service I saw an impressive 3.8miles/kwh with a temp of 24deg c , probably never to be repeated. The last trip I did was 3.2 miles/kwh which I again think is good at motorway speed. Have to say though that range is now dropping rapidly with the colder weather. I am doing the same trip next week so it will be interesting to see what I get. I do though drive steadily/economically as I can befitting the old git status I have so that probably helps. Overall though I am pleased with the car since the update.
  10. I contacted my dealer yesterday and quoted the reference number and details you posted. They came back and said this was the update I had in February and no further updates are available. Puzzled by the 271 miles. I've never seen anything like it on mine and my range is now dropping because of the colder weather.
  11. Send an email to Lexus Customer Relations at cr@lexus.co.uk. They will usually respond within a day or so.
  12. From what I've seen so far, Reeves job at the BOE must have been the tea lady. She certainly doesn't understand business or finance
  13. My car was bought in June 23 and has the HUD and the update. But they did pause the update on HUD cars for a short time for technical reasons. However as far as I know, all cars should now have it. Speak to Lexus Customer Services as the dealer might not be up to date.
  14. Malc, I though the "black hole" was so bad that they had to rob pensioners of £1.3 billion WFA to help fund a £11 billion pay-out to the train drivers and public sector. I was always reasonably good at maths but I think Thieves and Kneeler need some basic financial education.
  15. Not sure where you get 251 miles from. I was one of the first to get the update and fully charged it still shows 220 miles with ac on and around 230 miles with ac off. These figures are very accurate now and a vast improvement from when I got the car. Last weekend I did another 400 mile round trip to London travelling at 70mph wherever possible and this time I got an impressive 3.2 miles /kwh with cooler whether. Obviously this will drop when the colder whether arrives but as I say, the software update has made a significant improvement, but 251 miles would be a game changer.
  16. Yes, if you have the % indicator you have the update.
  17. Is she the one who left school with more kid's than GCSE's? Think I might have read it somewhere
  18. I have been using Saga for a number of years and always found them reasonably competitive. Paid £537 last year when I first bought the RZ and renewed a couple of months ago at £620 so a 15% increase. Could be worse I suppose. I did use Lexus insurance about 8 years ago but they started getting silly with their price so moved to M&S insurance first then Saga after M&S increased their prices significantly on renewal.
  19. I had multiple "clicks" on mine from new and difficulty charging. As I said above, it took ages to get the dealer to acknowledge the problem but eventually a new charging socket was fitted and no problems since. Give the dealer a call and let them sort it.
  20. Bob, for info mine is still showing 220 miles on a full charge although I expect this to start dropping soon with the colder weather. With regards the software upgrade, I am reliably informed that all Takumi cars now have it as standard when delivered so the issues must now be resolved.
  21. Have to say I have never noticed any reflection in the infotainment screen even on a bright day and I can see the maps quite clearly. I had a number of issues with the RZ in the early days of ownership but thankfully no issues with reflections
  22. Just saw this on You tube which I think is hilarious - to my sense of humour anyway
  23. Good news!!! According to my MP it looks as though they are going to let us keep the £10 Christmas bonus. All we have to do know is decide what to spend it on. Difficult decision.
  24. It would be interesting to know if this car has had the software update. I had multiple problem with charging when I first had the car but mine was related to getting the plug to lock so I could start the charge , not stop it which was never a problem. Since the software update I haven't -touch wood- had a problem. I have used a Tesla charger a couple of times and stopped without problem. I do agree however that the software is generally poor as stated in the video
