My facelift gs300h '17bis due for its service (60k) according to the lexus website. I will call lexus of course but I wanted to know if anyone knew why this service costs fairly more compared to others I've done and future ones? Must involve additional work?
Also any chances that give discounts?

An update: got new tyres on and no issue at all now. The old tyres didn't look weird or anything so not sure what was causing it.

Sounds normal to me. Likely to do with cold weather and summer tyres.
That's normal?!

I seem to have issue with my17 plate gs300h. Everytime I turn both way close to full lock. The wheel bounces like I've gone over a rick. Knocking sound too.
I suspect its control arm issue as I has similar issue on a merc
Am I still under warranty and is this kind of issue covered ?

2mm is the increase in tyre diameter. But the sidewall height of the tyre is greatly reduced as the alloy wheel is larger.
235/45 means a sidewall height of 105.75 mm (235 x 0.45)
235/40 has a sidewall height of 94 mm
So you are giving up nearly 12 mm of sidewall height which will make the ride harder.
What about 240/40 instead of 235/40?

I can't tell the difference on ride quality on my 19" wheels on my GS4 vs my old 18" on my old GS3.
What tyre size do you have, also what is it like over small bumps and imperfect Roads?

FYI Shane the GS F Sport is fitted with 19" wheels as standard. 8"x19" front and 9"x19" rear. Tyre size is 235/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rear. If you were to fit 8"x19" all round with the 235/40/19 tyre size, the difference in overall diameter from 18"to 19" is only +0.28% (or 2mm), not the +1.48% (or 10mm) if you fitted 245/40/19. I personally also don't think that a reduction in the tyre profile height from 45 to 40 would make a huge reduction in ride comfort.
Thanks for that info. If the difference is only 2mm I don't think ride comfort will change much ?

My advice would be, if you go aftermarket - buy a good brand of alloys.
Cheaper aftermarket alloys are cheap for a reason.
Best of luck and show us pics before and after.
These are the options I've narrowed it down do. I have always preferred black wheels. But I think diamond/polish face will give the car a more modern look. Also as its only 18 inch I think the spokes will need to touch right to the top of the rim or the wheels will look small.

Absolutely. It will be firmer / harsher. Depending on how you look at it.
You will also go 1.48% longer each turn of the wheel.
Thanks, I think I will go for aftermarket 18s as I don't like the stock ones. Too much tyre height and gap on the GS but I guess that comes with the comfort. I had 20s on mercedes e class lower ride and very little gap. But that was a bit harsh as expected.

Currently have 235/45/18 on my 17 gs luxury.
For 19 is the correct tyre size 245/40/19?
Also will this affect ride comfort? I see the tyre width increase but tyre height decrease.

Looking to change my luxury grill to f sport, if anyone can get hold of one please let me know.

Has anyone here tried to replace the rear shelf subwoofer on the latest GS? I've seen YouTube videos on older lexus wondering if it'll be the same thing or much different?
Looking to replace it with an aftermarket sub

I've read on this. Seems like bad brake design

There seems to be a small crack on my rear light, I was wondering if it's possible to get the plastic cover/lens repaired instead of changing the whole unit ?
If so any recommendations to where in London

Hi,
It's been three weeks since i picked up my new (to me) GS 450h SE, and i have given up on the Lexus maps guidance and use Google Maps instead, when using Google Maps (GM) on a journey i can't get the voice direction to work maps are fine but no voice, i'm not sure what the problem is but i believe there might be a conflict between the two systems caused by Bluetooth which i use to connect my iphone, any suggestions?, is it worthwhile or possible to upgrade the existing Lexus map guidance system, my car was first registered in January 2010
BTW, i love driving it
Regards
Mike
I love my gs but I would definitely stick with Google Maps.

Thanks
Use this website http://www.balancemycar.co.uk/ to find you nearest road force balancer

I have asked Lexus Glasgow to check the suspension a few times and they never found a fault, in a last three years I have done 4 or 5 times wheel alignment and the car still not as direct as I got used to based on my previous cars. Lexus does well when you go well above speed limit though! 🙂
I have done just under 60k and I noticed this behaviour when the car was at 30k! So I can't say the suspension is/was tired. I got used to this by now, I think! 🙂
Road forcing balance - I never heard of it, does dealers do that or it needs to be a specific garage?
Thanks for the input Shane.
Vlad
I had my car serviced twice and they never mentioned any suspension faults. I had to specify with a different garage to do a proper suspension check which was when they found my worn control arms.
Good tyres are also key
Road force balancing- will need to research and find local garages. Quite rare tbh

Does anyone have diagrams/speaker size and locations for my 2017 gs300h. I seem to have standard speakers with navigation. I would like to upgrade the speakers in my car. Thanks

Two things that fixed unstable movement on my other vehicles.
Front control arms suspensions replaced as they were worn.
Road force balancing along with alignment.
Road force balancing is different to normal wheel balancing as it uses your cars weight and Road condition to balance the wheels which ensures better balancing when the car is driving under load.

For good braking, the fitter should ensure the hub is cleaned before fitting the disc. Any guide pins and moving parts should be lubricated correctly.
Also once fitted, normally check the disc using run out tools to ensure the disc is even. No dust or dirt on the pads.
Using manufacturer parts for best application.

Hi, if you download an APP called Android Auto App Downloader AAAD - you can use the AA to watch youtube videos, netflix etc. You may have to download an older version of AA but the AAAD website has all the support you need

I had Goodyears on them. I've decided to put budgets on them as I won't be driving more then a few miles a day for a year.
