Thank you so much for this clarification, John. This makes so much more sense now!
Unfortunately I don't have access to a Techstream atm and the only option seems to be the Lexus dealership, which will 9/10 charge me an arm and a leg for the work. IF they want to do the work, because often they don't do the encoding if you haven't purchased the spare from them.
Also, being mine a Gen 3, I'm also aware that not every version of Techstream works with this model and I might have to get ahold of an older version + a cable + a Win laptop. Not sure which option is quicker/cheaper/non-stressful. Just keeping the alarm permanently on is not off the table!

My tyre fitter told me the ECU should recognize the sensor automatically, but from what you tell me it should be done through Techstream?
-
Yeah, it's a TPMS sensor which the Italian MOT doesn't require either, but since the sensors are there, my ECU needs them to be functioning, otherwise it gives me an error. So unless I fix that, I'll be having the alert on my dashboard turned on forever, I fear.

Had to change a sensor in my tire. Found an (apparently) original one on eBay, but I still get an error in the dash. Wanted to understand why this is happening.

Hey all,
I'm trying to find an iOS or Android app that has an exhaustive diagnostics for my 2006 GS 450h. Some have the GS model, but only go back to 2012. Anyone has experience with this?
Thanks

That's excellent! But I forgot to mention I'm in Milano, Italy. In the meantime I found one on eBay with the same serial number.

Hey all,
During a recent tire change, one of my 2006 GS 450h tire sensors broke and need to replace it. The official Lexus dealer asked for €300 plus labour, which is a lot.I was wondering whether any of you had any experience with non-genuine replacements and whether the ECU was able to recognize and use them properly.
As an alternative, I thought about used spare parts on the internet, in which case I'm not sure which of the various codes I should use in order to find the right parts.
Thanks.

I was referring to AC auto Locksmiths Ian. Perhaps worth contacting them ?
I'm in Italy, I'm afraid that wouldn't work for me. I did find a few options: Lexus asks for €630, a local locksmith asks for €350 and a friend thinks he can do the job for free (he has done plenty Toyota fobs, but never Lexus) since he has the sw, as long as I get ahold of the (possibly right) fob. 😄

I still have two spare fobs for a GS Mark 3 if anyone wants to do the diy route to reprogram them for a spare.

If you read all of this Thread, you might find a solution Ian.
Hi Roy, thanks for chipping in. I did read all of the thread and once more after you invited me to do so. I haven't seen anywhere anyone talking about the transmitter frequencies used in EU, US or Japan. Have I missed something?
-
Hope I'm not OT if I piggyback on this topic, but I'm trying to get the same thing done. I noticed that there are 3 different frequencies for these keys: 314.3 MHz, 312 MHz and 433 MHz. I'm unsure which one is the right one and I should go to a professional locksmith to have my only key read, although I might fear they'll tell me they can't do it unless I get the whole spare key done with them. An engineer I know told me that 433 is the right frequency for EU, while the other two are for the US and Japan. Anybody know which is which?

I did note that the missing knob looks identical to the knob on my Toyota iQ.
Yeah, I reckon that aesthetically they do look like the ones on other models (and makes), but I guess it's about how they connect to each other and the vent itself that might be unique to certain models.

Hey all,
I recently purchased a GS 450h and I only now noticed that the front half (the one sticking out) of the front-center vent slider knobs are missing. The back part was still stuck inside the grid, so I was able to recover it, but the front part was apparently lost or broken off.
I tried looking online for a replacement and could only find the site https://www.venttabs.com/, which only has tabs for the GX 470, which I'm not sure are compatible. I'm in no circumstance willing to change out the entire vent block (which I hear is the solution that Lexus would suggest).Anyone else had to deal with a situation like this one and if so how did they fix it?
Thanks!
Ian

Yeah it looks like I can do that with my iPhone. Will update when I get my car back and get it fitted.
Hey Paul, how have you managed to split the two BT profiles? (streaming and phone)
Also, how's the GTA BT system working for you? -
Sorry for the double post, no idea how that happened: today I was just checking in if anyone had replied and now I see my post was duplicated...

Hey all, new here too. Anyone have an opinion/experience regarding GTA vs the GROM version of the BT adapter for a 2006 GS 450h?

I suspect I might need Techstream for that too! 😂
