  1. Not a clue Peter, not a clue!
  2. Since getting the ES 14 months ago l have always thought that I've had the air con on full auto as can be seen on the dash panel (not the screen) that shows the 'recirculation' and 'auto' buttons illuminated, the A/C has worked perfectly in hot and cold weather maintaining the car temperature accurately. A couple of days ago while fine tuning the heated seat settings l came across this setting in a car customisation sub menu (see photo) that shows auto A/C set to 'off'. Totally confused l turned this to 'on' to see what happened, and it blew cold air on my feet immediately, even though the car was very cold. I have now turned it 'off' again and everything has returned to normal. I've looked through the manual but could have missed something. Can anyone shed any light on what this setting is please.
  3. Confused as to what you mean by 'transmission tunnel' the ES is front wheel drive?
  4. It appears to be throughout the range. There is someone local to me that has a stunning looking new LS and l managed to have a chat with him today on a supermarket car park. I expected him to be full of joy with his head turner, but no, he said it wasn't a patch on his old one in many ways.
  5. It's a little hard to see from the photos but the flaps are not hard up against the paintwork. I doubt they will damage the paintwork by rubbing but l could see dirt getting behind them. Yer pays yer money as they say.
  6. Nope! Very interesting read.
  7. I would imagine any insurers who are not on comparison sites these days must be missing a large market, it can take quite a while filling out the questions over and over.
  8. After much deliberation I finally got round to fitting the mud flaps. Quite an easy job. I was concerned about possible increased aerodynamic noise, as unlike most people on here I don't find the ES a particularly quiet car, but they haven't increased the noise at all.
  9. Congratulations,is this a new ES and what model?
  10. I'm not one for running down my tank normally but today l started a journey with the needle fractionally above the quarter mark after only 22 miles of motorway use the needle was on the bottom, not at all consistent with the other quarter increments of the gauge. Now l know I'll certainly not let that happen again. I've had other cars with a quick drop off but wouldn't have thought a Lexus would do it.
  11. Mine are slow on my MY22 but the worst is the rear screen de-mister it takes forever.
  12. The only similarity l can see in those steering wheels is they are both circular, in my opinion.
  13. Less than £300 ooh! Fife must be a lot more salubrious than Manchester.
  14. Surely until you take it up it was only a quotation. It would only become a contract when you sign on the dotted line.
  15. Lane trace assist?
  16. I'm assuming your ES is the next level up from the Premium Edition as I'm sure my 2022 model only has the automatic hi-beam system and not the adaptive hi-beam system?
  17. The ES is defiantly a long car, although it's perfectly proportioned. I believe the rear passenger legroom is actually longer than the LS and the boot space is ample. Although the rear seats don't drop down the pass-through is ok for the occasional trip to B&Q. The width is spot on and well proportioned with regard to shoulder space from passengers. Because of the length the turning circle is not great if you use multi-story car parks, but if you do you will have no trouble finding your car on your return (it's the one sticking out). I don't find it too low to get in and out and I'm in my 70s, I can also reach the centre of the roof to clean it without using any steps. After owning large jags in the past the thing I like about the ES is the fact that you don't get stared at and the kids in the next car don't want to race you. The ES isn't perfect, but for a mid priced car it's not far off.
  18. I received a feedback request about the Lexus dealership but not about the ES itself.
  19. My ES is down from 46 to 43.2 at the moment but will probably go down to 42 before it improves again.
  20. I took out a 6 year plan in December 2021 for £2,430, assuming this will cover 3 intermediate and 3 full services at a fixed cost I'm quite happy with that.
  21. I'm with Aviva and have been for quite a few years. Around 3 years there was a gang of bikers hi-jacking cars in the neighbourhood and I got picked on, I finished up in hospital after putting up a fight (stupid thing to do when you're in your late 60s and could have got stabbed) they trashed the car and Aviva wrote it off. As I had good CCTV footage Aviva were excellent in paying the claim and were a pleasure to deal with. They remain to be the cheapest I can find for the ES.
  22. Just filled up at Asda £1.34p/l. Finally heading in the right direction!
  23. I'm amazed you wanted to take it for a run!
  24. Looks smart. I was toying with this colour. What interior did you choose?
