  1. I am writing this reply through a VPN connection and everything is fine, very strange.
  2. Sheer devilment, you test the water, see if anyone is daft enough to pay the price before dropping it. Slightly off topic but l have a friend who is an artist, when he does an exhibition he needs to sell his paintings for between £90 -£120 to make a living. However for devilment he always prices one of them for £750, more often than not that one sells first as people think it must be better than the others.
  3. Can anyone advise how to stop adverts popping up on this site when I view it on my android phone? It is only this site that does it, it's got that bad I can't read anything and impossible to write anything.
  4. Does the one they directed you to work off VHF or GPS and would you have a link to it please?
  5. Looks like you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Surely frost damaged must be covered but you'll never prove it was frost damage, but on the other hand they could never prove it wasn't. You could escalate the claim to Lexus but they will just wear you down until you give up. Is it worth going through your insurance? My guess is it's not. If you think you'll have to stand the cost at the end of the lease period anyway, you might as well buy the part, use the bit you need and try and recover some of the cost by selling the part that you don't need.
  6. Very slow thread this which isn't surprising. My ES300h is 18 months old now, I took it for ceramic coating the day I picked it up from the dealers, still with all it's protective plastic wrappers on and although I will never know how it would have been if it had not been done after 18 months the paintwork still looks like new. It is extremely easy to clean and have never put any further treatment on. I have cleaned it today and although I noticed a couple of tar spots they came off with the slightest rub. I had the windows and wheels done as well, the only down side I found was the front screen water beaded that much the wipers would drag the droplets back across the screen. I removed the ceramic coating from the screen with screen cutting compound (not an easy job) but that cured the problem. I know it's not to everyone's taste but I'm very pleased with it so far.
  7. The recall checker for mine say's 'We have identified that your Lexus is subject to a voluntary customer service campaign or outstanding safety recall.' but doesn't go into detail like the letter does.
  8. I've just had a letter from Lexus recalling my MY22 ES for the DCM (Data Communication Module) to be reprogramed due to four possible faults. 1 Emergency call back can't be received. 2 The most recent location failure 3 Auxiliary battery could be discharged 4 Data lost after ignition turned off.
  9. This is the setup I finished up with after buying the shallow tray off a member on here.
  10. Nothing is perfect! There's always a dammed trade off.🤕
  11. Thanks for getting back. Glad you're happy with them. Can I ask is there a rim protector profile at all?
  12. So the Hankook tyre is rated at 3db less than Maxx 050. On the db scale that equates to a 50% reduction if I've understood it correctly. I hope you come back on here with your findings, good luck with the swap.
  13. Can I ask what you are putting on?
  14. I've never really studied tyres in the past, but having read a few threads about them I looked up the rating of my Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 and it shows 'D' for the fuel economy. What would be the difference between 'A' & 'E' is it minimal or substantial?
  15. I thought the 10% discount was off things like MOT's, parts etc. not off the service plan itself.
  16. So we should see a slight improvement shortly as we have had two winters but only one summer.
  17. I've had my ES for 17 months and the clock is showing 4,345 miles. I drive in normal mode and the average mileage clock has never been reset from new and is showing 41.9 mpg. As you can tell we mostly use it for shopping with the occasional run out. I said before buying it I would be happy with 40mpg.
  18. I'm getting a bit confused here! What happened to the one you ordered in Feb 2021, did you cancel it?
  19. Was that the "Oh dear" that begins with "F"?
  20. I can understand your frustration. I would have lost interest by now as well.
  21. Thanks, so what happens if the soft key is showing 'OFF' as in my case?
  22. Which 'little light' are you referring to? You will see on the photo that the auto light is on.
  23. The only ES I've seen near me just happens to be our Mayor of Bury official car. They do keep it nice and clean. .
  24. Ah! I see what you mean. So if it says 'OFF' it means it's 'ON' and if you want it 'OFF' you press it? So for us humans if it says 'OFF' it must be 'ON' and if it says 'ON' it must be 'OFF'? In other words you are changing the option not the state.
