    Just cleaning under the bonnet for the first time since it went into Bolton Lexus for the recall last week, not only was the air filter not clipped down it wasn't even in position, shoddy work Bolton, shoddy work!

    It's when you come to navigate and park in a multi story car park that it becomes problematic. I've stopped trying.

    Been into Lexus Bolton today to have the recall done. There was a transporter there unloading a few green ES's, I've never seen as many new ES's waiting for collection as there were today.

    I bought a Milenco steering wheel lock a couple of days ago for my ES. The only place it will fit because of the gear paddles and the other wide spoke, is at the top of the wheel. Because of this and the weight of it, the lock is quite loose and can easily slip down and damage the plastic paddles. I got round this by covering the lock bar with some B&Q adhesive type 15mm pipe lagging, ok it’s not my best DIY job but it makes it nice and snug and protects the wheel covering from denting as it still does even with the latest design.

    After reading on this forum about Lexus fitting CAN Bus protection plates to the RX range under warranty , l queried if they had plans to include the ES range. I have just received a quite in-depth reply saying there is no plan to include any other model.

    Has anyone with an ES (with paddle shifts) actual used the Milenco unit? I keep reading on Amazon reviews that they are not suitable with paddle shifts.

    I queried the tracker issue with them a couple of weeks ago by live chat and the reply was it's not required. My renewal paperwork says unless 'tracker required' is stipulated in the conditions I'm covered. I can't see this mentioned anywhere. The paperwork states my excess is £400 plus nil voluntary

    An addition to my post above, l now spend more on insurance per year than l spend on petrol.

    Same here, best thing l ever did. It's nearly two years old now but still shines like new. Even tar stains come off with a licked cloth.

    Well, I was hoping to be one of the lucky ones who's renewal wouldn't too bad, not to be I'm afraid. Last year with LV £438 renewal quote for this year £711. After shopping around the cheapest I could get for the same cover £741. After speaking to LV the lowest they would go was £675, an increase of 54%, I'm shocked!

    Well! I'll go to the foot of our stairs. I've had the ES for 18months and never tried the CD player let alone play a DVD. All works well parked up with auto brake on and in auxiliary mode.

    I've noticed the same with my Lexus rubber boot liner with regard to getting a good finish. I've tried lots of products but it doesn't look great.

    That really was a terrible way to present a car for sale, sheer laziness.

    Congratulations. It is annoying and amateurish of sellers not to display anything to it's best. Knowing what a perfectionist you are, seeing how you clean the engine compartment will be interesting. Maybe another thread?
