  1. My son lives in Australia and has an Australian amazon account. I live in the UK and have both an Australian amazon account (for use when I visit him) and my UK account. Today he sent me a $600au amazon gift card by email. When I clicked on the tab 'add this gift card to your account' it went into my Australian account (I didn't see an option to put it into my UK account) so now I can't use it to buy the Christmas present it was for. I have had a live chat with amazon and they told me I can't transfer it to my UK account and my son won't be able to cancel it because it is now in my account. I have tried to buy the present using my Australian account but it can't be posted to the UK and it would cost to much to have it posted over here if I had it sent to my sons address. It appears I'm stuck in no mans land. Can anyone come up with any suggestions???
  2. And here as well.
  3. Sounds to me like the dealer is trying to pull the wool over your eyes in order to get rid of current orders that have fell through.
  4. Message sent.
  5. It does look superior l agree. Could I take this off you please?
  6. Steve, would you say this one is better quality than the one l got off you recently?
  7. My car was Ceramic coated, it is left outside and I live in Manchester, so there's no hope for me 😁. On a serious note I am going to blow them dry with a car dryer and give them a spray with silicone lubricant and hope for the best.
  8. Just got the ES back again after having yet another parking sensor replaced, so that was drivers side rear on Monday and drivers side front today, hopefully not just vaselined up. I was sat next to another guy at the service desk that was having the same sensor problem but I don't know what model.
  9. With Vaseline probably.
  10. Ah! Yes I remember reading that. It's a bad do when you spend almost 40K on something then you have to 'make do and mend' with a tub of Vaseline.
  11. I've been having trouble for a few weeks with a parking sensor fault, sometimes flashing a fault warning for a few seconds and sometimes staying on until I re-start the car. It went in for it's annual service last week and they found a faulty sensor, so been in again for it to be replaced. Within a couple of minutes of leaving the dealers the warning message was back again, so going back in to the dealer on Thursday. Anyone else had problems with this? I seem to remember reading on here about a problem, but can't find it now.
  12. Could it be another vehicle whistling at Tiff, she does seem a bit of an attention seeker?
  13. I'm also in my 70s and can see where you are coming from, although I think it will take an actual unnerving driving incident to make me give up driving. With the standard of driving on the roads these days that may not be far off!
  14. Yes not the best! I've never had that new car feeling from day one.
  15. Time to do something about this. Am l correct with my thinking that a Ghost immobilizer would stop theft via the Canbus system? I realise that there are other ways to steal vehicles.
  16. The original post was mine. The rattle on my car mysteriously cleared up about 4 months ago after the Lexus dealer failed to fix it 3 times. It certainly was the worst, lasting for 18 months from new. I hope I've not tempted fate by saying it has cleared up.
  17. Maybe you did close her boot and she's a bit of a Floozie and likes to show of her privates to all and sundry that passes by. If l was you l would leave a packet of you know what in her ample boot, or you might hear the sounds of a little CT on the drive. I would get her sterilised at the next service.
  18. If you mean full beam, mine very rarely switch over, it has to be very dark, no street lights, no car in sight, total darkness.
  19. This is an email conversation I have had over the last couple of days with my local dealer. I answered with my thoughts. I have removed names to protect the innocent as they say! Good Afternoon Mr I hope you are well. How are you getting on with the ES? Is it still suiting your needs? I have an amazing opportunity on a Brand-New ES 300h F SPORT Takumi. It is physical in our showroom, ready for immediate delivery. I can send you a video of the vehicle. Let me know what you think. You are in a very good position to change. Could you come in and see me, we can have a coffee and go over everything. See how much your car is worth and go through a deal. What do you think? Looking forward to hearing from you. Many Thanks, My reply…….. Hi I will be hanging on to my ES for the time being. To be honest l wouldn't consider another Lexus particularly an ES while they are so easy to steal. If Lexus where to address this matter l would reconsider. Neil Their reply………. Good Morning Mr I completely understand where you are coming from, and a lot of our customers have said the same thing. But if you are enjoying the ES 300h that shouldn’t stop you from having a car that you love. Have you considered a steering lock just to put your mind at ease. If you change your mind, please don’t hesitate to give me a call or drop me an email. I am more than happy to go through everything with you. I will send you a video of the ES 300h F SPORT Takumi, let me know what you think. Looking forward to hearing from you. Many Thanks,
  20. Back in the late 50s my father had a Ford Prefect. Myself, brother, mum & dad headed south for a holiday. Dad was a member of the AA (not the drinkers club). At the bottom of Porlock Hill there was a AA hut, when the AA man spotted the badge on the front of our car he saluted and waved our car down, he then suggested we go up the worst part of the hill in reverse as that was our strongest gear. Sorry nothing to do with Lexus.
  21. So now when you have to answer the question 'have you ever been refused insurance ' and you answer honestly (yes) the premium increases.
  22. Sorry to hear that. Despite the fact that any make can get stolen, if mine goes that's me finished with Lexus unless they do something about it.
  23. Since reading your replies I have found S-Flow in the manual but I cant relate it to my vehicle. I haven't got a switch with the symbol the manual shows on the 'centre control panel'. Maybe the premium edition is not equipped with this option. I have never been able to get any air flowing through the vents into the rear of the vehicle either warm or cold, with them open or not. I'm just as mystified as the mist I'm trying to remove!
