  1. 1/4 tank for me.
  2. I happened to be looking out of the kitchen window where the car is parked on the drive just as the bright sun popped from behind a cloud this morning and the car alarm activated. I'm assuming it activated an internal sensor as there was no movement or vibration around the vehicle at the time. I'm reluctant to disarm the internal sensor (the one for pets left in the vehicle) every time I lock the car. Luckily I live in Manchester so we don't see a great deal of sun anyway! Anyone had this happen?
  3. Bone dry and I live in Manchester where we have webbed feet.
  4. I don't think it will kick in. I believe the privileged few at the top think that the masses have had it too easy over the last few years and this is their version of leveling up.
  5. Can anyone explain this please? I'm used to using a wedge seat cushion in previous cars, although not nearly as necessary in the ES. When I use it and have the heated seats on, the lumber heater works but the seat base heater doesn't, yet as soon as I remove the cushion the base heaters work. I hope I'm not doing something that might damage the heaters like restricting air flow or something. The only thing I can think of is that my weight distribution on any pressure pads maybe different when sitting on a wedge cushion. I'm referring to the drivers seat.
  6. I think it is a mistake. My premium edition has 4 tie down hooks.
  7. It's no wonder there is confusion with such similar terminologies such as 'Active noise control' as opposed to 'Active sound control' and 'LTA lane trace assist' as opposed to ' LCA lane centering assist' amongst others.
  8. Are you saying that active noise control that uses noise cancelling via the radio speakers is standard? It doesn't mention anything in my manual about it. It does mention active sound control that uses a speaker to warn pedestrians of vehicle movement. I understood that active noise control uses microphones in the headlining and my 2022 model doesn't have those.
  9. Is it not active sound control that is standard? Mine does not have active noise control as far as I know.
  10. Great price, that is £3,500 cheaper than I paid 5 weeks ago.
  11. Pm sent.
  12. After careful consideration I have decided not to fit the new mud flaps. They are listed in the for sale section if anyone is interested.
  13. The first thing that springs to my mind after reading your post....... If you are happy to buy used, if you are not bothered about mpg, if you want the wafty ride, what about a used LS? l have had XJ jags, RX Lexus amongst others yet my ES still brings a smile to my face when l drive it. Yes it has it's faults but not many. Personally if l was you l would wait till used prices drop.
  14. Did you hear any increase in noise after fitting the mud flaps may I ask?
  15. That's a good point. As you can see from this photo there is in effect a 2 inch deep 'air scoop' on each one. Times this by 4 and the drag will increase so a good possibility of noise increase as well.
  16. Mud flaps just arrived from China £15.30, amazed!
  17. Salesmen say that because they loose their commission if it is paid off before 6 months. You can pay it off whenever you like. Your right's have change a lot over the last few years.
  18. For information only, when signing up for the finance they have to tell you (and they did) that you are entitled to ask the dealer for the commission they receive on the deal, so l did and it was £220. Like you say why they do the discount this way is a mystery.
  19. I intended paying cash for mine but went for the finance option after doing the maths. I went for paying the biggest deposit possible, which was funded by my part exchange with the remainder of the part exchange being paid into my bank account. I went for the largest monthly payments over the shortest time to get the interest rate to the lowest possible. There is nothing stopping you paying it of after 1 month and you will not loose the 2K discount. The dealership will loose their commission if it is paid back before 6 payments have been made, they also get a black mark (whatever that means) from Lexus finance. If I pay it off after 6 payments I will have paid just over £300 in interest Thus saving almost £1700. Even if I let the finance run for the full 2 years I will still have only paid £1730 interest, thus still making a saving. I will make a decision shortly on when to settle.
  20. Guaranteed the rattle will stop the second you pull up on their forecourt.
  21. Wow! That's not good.
  22. What petty (get a life) niggles do you have with your ES? Mine so far are... No finger cut out in the sun visors. No pull down loop on the rear armrest. Trying to locate that little latch to lift the bonnet. Not being able to keep LTA turned off.
  23. If it helps you guys on this section I've just been given a brand new UX 300e as a courtesy car and it has Dunlop Enasave tyres on it.
  24. Could l just add a little to the above having had a Powder Coating plant as part of my Wrought Iron business (now retired). There are 2 types of powder, Epoxy, cheaper and more suited for indoor use and Polyester, dearer but more suited to outdoor use. We used to re-powder wheels for friends only as it was a pain in the bum. Epoxy powder if left un- lacquered outdoors, will loose it's shine within a couple of days, where Polyester won't. Obviously the best finish is Polyester lacquered, but to save money we have seen others use Epoxy.
  25. Thanks, could understand the gist of it, just not the specifics.
