  1. Now then, if that price is for the premium edition, your wife might have a point. That's a hell of a price and it's a fabulous car.
  2. I don't see much wrong either I'm afraid. If you park next to a 'nice' Lexus the chance of the 'nice' Lexus driver bashing his door is reduced, plus he has only one side to worry about now.
  3. The car has been at the dealers today to sort out the rattle and on the return journey no rattle was heard so hopefully it's fixed. It got me thinking about who will foot the bill for the fix? Will the dealer invoice Lexus, how does it work? The service I got from the Bolton dealership today was impeccable yet again.
  4. I've got a UX as a courtesy car today and it's showing 48.8mpg which I thought was quite good for a courtesy car.
  5. Wow! You must have the patience of a saint. I would be cancelling if it was me. It drove me mad waiting almost 4 months for mine.
  6. Glad you sorted it. Mine goes in on Tuesday for investigation. This is a video I did to show the dealer the rattle. They confirmed they could hear it over the road noise, it's more of a tick, tick noise. BTW while my wife was doing the video l wasn't concentrating on my driving and got nicked for doing 59 in a 50 zone on a 'smart' section of the motorway. 1873202618_WhatsAppVideo2022-06-18at12_30.22PM-Copy.mp4
  7. I used this on a boat windscreen that got badly stained with salt spray. It worked very well but never tried it on a car.
  8. Good advice, never thought to record it. Recorded it today and called in to see the service manager who agreed it needs investigating and the car goes in on the 28th.
  9. All closing the sun shade does is to quiet the rattle slightly from hearing it, so no not that. It's definitely along the length of the front edge of the opening and not the glass door. I'm even thinking of getting a stethoscope to narrow it down to a specific spot, or am l loosing the plot here.
  10. My ES has a rattle and it's driving me crazy. When l say a rattle it's more a low tic, tic, tic sound coming from the sunroof. It might do it on rough roads but it definitely does it on very smooth roads. It's very intermittent and might not do it for a couple of weeks but then again it might do it on every trip for a couple of weeks. It only does it when the sun roof is closed and l think it might have something to do with the wind deflector bar that presses down when the roof is closed because if I open the roof just 1 inch or so it stops. I have gone over the closing mechanism with a fine tooth comb and rocked the car but can't replicate the sound manually. I have lubricated the rubber with that stuff that members on here use but to no avail. The best way to explain it is if you could imagine a very tiny nut rolling around in the wind deflector bar. It's not due a service until December but l very much doubt any service guy would be interested in such a small thing. Any ideas or experiences???
  11. Lexus dealers are probably as frustrated as you with the current situation. I can't see any reason why a Lexus dealer would treat you badly unless their hands are tied and they are genuinely unable to offer you their normal service. Lexus dealers have to meet certain standards of customer care set by Lexus or they face loosing their franchise. Having said that there is only you who knows how you have been treated. Buying a 40 grand car is not something you do very often (well at least I don't) and yes it would be nice to be treated nice, and I'm sure the vast majority of Lexus buyers are, I know I was. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
  12. I agree with steve2006 do you really want to be driving 20,000 miles a year in a car you don't like. Assuming your 20K miles are not on country roads and there's only 1or 2 people in the ES you should be returning around the 50mpg mark. Will you be charging this car that you don't like at home or rapid charging at a motorway service station. You must have liked the ES to have placed a deposit on it so I assume that is the size and weight you would prefer. Stick with the ES it is a superb car.
  13. Too many variables to be able to comment off the brief you have given.
  14. Looks great! Do you intend keeping us updated with photo's of the coating process?
  15. Congratulations on the new car. What colour? I had all the wrapping left on as well. Picked it up like this.... and finished up like this...
  16. I went for Black after the dealer couldn't show samples of Hazel and Forest Brown and having now seen them I'm glad l did.
  17. I recently bought one of these. Quite good once you get the knack, will dry the ES in less than 5 minutes. The downside is the air blast is very noisy but the machine itself is ok.
  18. My 2022 ES has... More power than I ever need. My average since new is showing 43mpg, well over 60mpg on motorway runs and 30mpg nipping to Asda. Pay attention to the rather poor turning circle when you take one for a test drive, with it being so long it's not easy getting out of tight spaces in a multi-story car park. Other than a few other very very slight niggles I love it. I moved from Jags and Audi.
  19. Mine was 7 days from that message.
  20. I put this question to Lexus, I also said I thought it might be as Peter (NemesisUK) suggested. This is a copy of the chat. I don't intend taking it in as they suggest as I'm sure it's not a fault as others seem to hear it. Hi, would it be possible to put this question to your technical team about my 2022 Lexus ES? Assuming all ES's do it, what is the servo type sound I hear 90% of the time just before the car comes to a dead stop when gently braking? I don't have 'brake hold' switched on. Enter Lexus Hello Neil, thank you for your question. We believe you may be talking about the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System in your ES. By law, this system will need to produce external sound via a sound generator when running on electric power at speeds up to approximately 12mph, and will need to show whether the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating. Is this what you are referring to? Thanks. Enter You sent Thanks but that's not the sound. It sounds like a pump kicking in for a second or two just before the car stops. I thought it might have something to do with hydraulic pressure building up. Enter Lexus Unfortunately without seeing the car in person, this is not something that we can diagnose. We would recommend taking your ES to your nearest Lexus Centre for further assistance. Thanks.
  21. Not sure, lets see if others hear the sound.

  23. On my 2022 model, all plastic as far as I can see. The process is shown here
