  1. Errr, *didn't miss a beat. 😄
  2. I scan the car and the only codes I seem to get with Techstream are C1210 and C1336 codes. Zero point calibration yaw and acceleration. I haven't noticed the problem lately. But the weather is much warmer, if that was helping causing it. But codes related to the engine Techstream finds none. My calipers are fine but the car is getting new brakes all around this week.
  3. I fill with 98 anyways. So the switch to E10 doesn't affect me yet. I'm just worried that they will either keep raising the price of E5 or just make everything E10. But the car does run much better on 98 or 100, which is why I stopped putting 95 in and switched to 98 after a few months I had the car.
  4. But the car is really absolutely fine! Last Saturday I did another trip with it. About 200 miles and it didn't miss a bit. Eating Mercs and Bimmers left and right on the motorway. 🙂
  5. No, I didn't click on the engine looking symbol bottom right of the screen. I didn't know how to clear codes till I read this. 🙂 Thanks. Here is how my dash lights look like:
  6. Well, it seemed to be in good condition. It was low mileage, all original, including the 15" wheels. Seemed very well kept. But I heard they all can sufer from oil burning, even low mileage. So could be that. But visually I saw no il burning. Engine bay was clean and exhaust wasn't smoking. Just a correction. My IS250 doesn't feel like a granddad car at all. Maybe because of the manual shifter. Maybe because of the sports exhaust and Fsport intake. But it just doesn't. It feels as good as any 3-series, which I also drive quite often. 🙂
  7. I'm not really comparing them point by point. 🙂 All I'm saying is I was disappointed the MR2 felt slower, when it has a better power to weight ratio and is technically faster on paper. Maybe it's because my IS250 is a manual and I drive it like I stole it when I feel like it, and it has more torque. But the 1.6 tons 4 door saloon felt more spicy than the 975kg sports car when you stepped on it. It goes a lot better. Not talking curves. I just wasn't expecting that. Or the MR2 I drove was shot. Hence why I asked. To see if that is how they are.
  8. Handling Thanks. Handling I'm sure the MR2 is better. I was talking about acceleration. It felt slower, even though it shouldn't have, as it has a slight advantage on power to weight.
  9. I see. But doing it via Techstream as you mentioned above is probably safer? Maybe the ODB in the engine bay was in another car then. Maybe IS200. Saw it in a video on YT.
  10. On paper they should be slightly faster than an IS250. They have a slightly better power to weight ratio and slightly quicker 0-100km. But I drove one and can't say it felt quicker than my IS250. I would say it felt slower. Any of you have one or have driven them and can compare? 🙂
  11. Tecstream found C1210 and C1336 codes. Zero point calibration yaw and acceleration. Yes, the VSC light popped up right after I got into the car after the oil change. It wasn't there when the car went in for the change. But as soon as I turned the ignition when they were finished, it was there. Could be a coincidence. But it happened this way. I don't have the repair manual. All I could find about fixing C1210 and C1336 codes was the wire hack to connect the 2 connectors in the OBD port in the engine bay. But I didn't get around to do it yet. if there is a better or safer way I would rather try that first then. 🙂 The procedure you describe does the same as the hack then?
  12. I also came across this resetting steering sensors. is this the hack with the wires in the OBD port in the engine bay?
  13. No idea. But I have techstream. 🙂
  14. Can you click on the image to enlarge it? I can click on it and it opens in a larger size and is possible to read it. But I don't know if it's working for others.
  15. Thanks Vlad. I had actually run a helth check a couple of weeks ago and saved a screen shot:
  16. I tried doing some of this. I didn't slide on a roundabout. But I spun my rear wheels on take off. I did a feel hard brakes till full stop. I went into techstream, but I wasn't sure how to clear the codes. I will have to check online. But does the code clearing have to be right after the maneuvers?
  17. Alright. So it seems it's not as bad as I thought. 🙂 Here we still have 98 and 100, both of which are ok. I have mainly used 98 anyways. I just fear they will keep raising the price on those and eventually phase out and leave only E10. But if they do, it's good to know I could still run the car on E10 with maybe an additive or just try to change the 2 parts which are different in the 2008 and up IS250.
  18. So it seems you gentlemen are saying that running it on E10 will probably be no problem?
  19. 2007 is on the boarder right? I think early 2007 is not E10 compatible and late 2007 is? Your 2007 is or not E10 compatible? If not, how long have you been running it mostly on E10?
  20. By the way, the OEM caliper number is 47750-22460 it seems? I need to order brake pads. As a note, I found out that there are different 334mm x30mm front discs for the GS. One won't fit the other. I think something with the ventilation. Maybe RWD vs AWD? The part numbers listed here are the correct ones though it seems. But going by just Lexus GS350/450 might not be enough. I was looking at a product which said Lexus GS350, correct generation, correct 334mm x30mm size but it turns out it would not have fit. So just leaving his out there for future reference. 🙂
  21. I found a post on another IS forum saying apparently the only parts which are different in the E10 compatible IS made post 2007 are the plastic fuel pump basket, and a rubber O-ring beneath it, and that maybe changing that would make or help the car deal with E10. That's interesting. But nobody has tried it.
  22. I know this is probably old news to most of you. But over here E10 only arrived this year. My car is not E10 compatible. For now, not a huge deal as it seems to affect 95 only and I always filled 98. But makes you wonder how long they will sell E5 98, or eventually push it to only the more expensive 100. I'm also wondering what this will do to the value of cars. I have invested quite a bit in my car. I know post 2007 IS are E10 compatible though. I guess the engines are the same and only parts are changed to be compatible? But I'm thinking it's not feasible to even try to make your engine compatible or even swap in a post 2007 engine as most likely the tank and fuel lines will need to be swapped. Although I just had a "new" tank put in and I think that was from a newer IS, as it looked almost new. How did you or are you dealing with the E10 issue if you owned or own a pre 2007 IS? Thanks.
  23. That's good to hear. Fingers crossed. I have ordered all parts now. 🙂
