Rubbing/Skipping From N/S Rear Wheel
Rob RCF replied to FishShapedCar's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Could be the tyres "crabbing" which when I first experienced it I thought it was coming from the rear, but it actually comes from the front tyres. Exactly like you described though, happens on low speed manoeuvres near full lock, usually in colder weather. Feels a bit like something seizing up causing the tyres to skip. Can be quite jarring and makes you think something's wrong with the car. Crabbing is usually associated with wide performance tyres and run flats due to their stiffness. If you've had your ISF for 2 years I'm surprised it's only just started happening though. It was a bit cooler last month, but hardly winter temps. Had new tyres recently? -
Said goodbye to my RCF today

Which one did you drive on track? The base model was underwhelming to me (on the road at least). Thanks though, I am really enjoying my GT. -

Thanks Tim. I am enjoying it very much. It's a special car and I can't get over how much fun it is to drive around in. I haven't even gone full throttle yet (still running-in). -

Which A110 did you try out of interest? The base model didn't really do it for me and neither did the S, it was the GT that wowed me with the increased torque and power combined with the soft suspension. GR Yaris seems like a really great choice as well, did you pull the trigger on one then? -

Not as much as I wanted! But I could see the car hanging around for weeks or months if I tried to sell privately. PM me if you like, I'll give you more detail. -

Ha, yeah I like the white too. I almost chose white for the A110, but I've had quite a few white cars so I thought I'd go for a change this time. Don't get me wrong I will definitely miss the V8. I'm glad I got to experience it and the RC(F) is a really nice car overall. I won't miss the fuel bills and the road tax though! V8 aside, the The A110 GT does manage to make a decent noise, they've used a sound tube so you get a nice induction growl inside the car. -
So some of you probably saw my RCF up for sale recently, well I drove it to Lexus Reading this morning and handed over the keys. I've replaced it with something lightweight and mid-engined. A very different car, but I was just hooked from the moment I first drove one... Alpine A110 GT

RCF manifold onto ISF
Rob RCF replied to Akite's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
The part number is the same for both RCF and GSF exhaust manifolds so they should fit. You might already know, but fitting them is a difficult job. Try to use a reputable place that has experience with this kind of thing. I've heard the same thing many times btw, that the ISF ones are prone to cracking and the newer (RCF/GSF) versions aren't. -
If you're looking at the Evora give an Alpine A110 a go as well. That car really impressed me. Make sure you try one with the sport exhaust as it gets not just an exhaust valve, but more importantly a sound tube for more induction noise. The GT was my fave. I can't comment too much on the Evora as I haven't driven one, but I have no doubt it's the more raw and exciting car to drive. It depends if that's what you're after and whether you're willing to subject yourself to the ownership experience which seems to range from "not the best" all the way to "downright awful".

Also worth noting that at least 2 cars turned up that weren't even part of our meet and got directed to the inner car park in case they try to invoice you for those. Silver GSF and red RC I think. I had a chat with the GSF owner just before I left, nice guy, he said he was meeting his son there and was surprised to be directed to a special "Lexus only" area. 😂 He's a member on here, but wasn't aware of the meet.

First things first, everyone who didn't pay please pay David aka @B1RMA as soon as possible (this includes myself btw). He organised this and may choose to just pay the invoice and get on with life, and if so that's his decision imo. Let's at least make sure he's not out of pocket. David if you do in fact want to pursue this you may wish to put in a formal complaint rather than dealing with Susan (if it was her that made the mistake regarding arrival times). I don't know if my advice is worth much, but I would say (annoying as it is) pay the invoice as at least then they can't argue that you haven't done your part, and then it's on them to sort out any goodwill/reimbursements. I agree it was disorganised with conflicting information, a rude marshal on arrival blaming us for being late, at least 6 cars being sent to separate car park outside the main event etc. BUT despite that it was still overall a very positive experience and I really enjoyed meeting everyone and being around some cool cars. 😀

What truck do you drive? Must be a diesel? Is it a V8? I6? How much power? What gearbox? How much were you towing? Sorry for the barrage of questions, I've always been interested in trucks, but never known any HGV drivers.

Anyone selling an RCF?
Rob RCF replied to ISF V8 JAY's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
When are you looking to buy? I might be selling, but it wouldn't be for 2-3 months. PM me if you want more details. -
RC F - Fuel Vent tube recall.
Rob RCF replied to RadicalCoupe-Fuji's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Got mine done today. All good, no petrol smell whatsoever. Got a UX 300e as a courtesy car. My first time driving a fully electric car. Didn't particularly like it. Strange wobbly ride going over bumps that kind of rocks your body side to side a bit. And the seats rather than holding you in, seem to feel almost convex in the upper back area so you keep sliding side to side. Quite bad visibility and the high bonnet seems absurd when you see how little space the electric motor takes up. Quite fun to stamp on the throttle though and it gains speed well, at least up to 50mph or so. There's just no drama - no noise except for a slight airliner-like whine, no gearshifts etc, my partner loved the quietness of it though. -
More Carbon Delamination
Rob RCF replied to F.A.'s topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
My RCF has the silver carbon trim on the interior and is fine. I have heard of some having problems with the RCFs with black carbon delaminating around the window switches though. I don't think I've seen any examples of the silver carbon delaminating so maybe it's made with a different process or something. -
RC F - Fuel Vent tube recall.

Mine's booked for Monday. Will be good to get it done, it's been well over 4 months by now. Anyone know if they disconnect the battery/reset ECU during the work? -
Looks great, double the F's compared to last year! Bit gutted I couldn't come, but had already committed to a weekend trip to Wales. Track time must have been fun, I would like to have done that, my RCF has been feeling so quick lately.
