  1. Yes Philip we need to know. .with pics!! 😁
  2. Hi guys I bought a Goodyear Dash Cam on ebay about 6 weeks ago, but when it was fitted it did not act like a reversing camera on its display, despite indicating on the box that it would I returned it to the supplier but they credited me rather than replacing it, which leads me to believe that it may be a problem with all of them. They have said I will be credited in the next few days so I have looked for a replacement and bought the following. I should recieve it tomorrow so I will fit it and give my comments on this feed. The last thing I wanted was an expensive one because I would imagine they are a nickable item if left in with the top down! I hope this one works OK as it appears that each time I buy one, they double in price! Anthony
  3. I should have saved the hundreds of small ones I have thrown away from the covid test boxes!
  4. Hi Glyn Can you give us a full report if how it works please. Anthony
  5. Well done Philip, at least you have your initial list of projects! The only thing I find is that I can add them quicker than I can do them! I am not complaining because I enjoy it and love doing the upgrades and improvements. Anthony
  6. Yes John, and it's a relatively cheap job to do if you fit it yourself!

It was a joke John! 😁 I didn't think a cantankerous and cynical old sod would take it literally! Ant 🤣

    MPG

Hi John It would appear that it is more than likely that the MPG recorded could be flawed!

    MPG

Yes John, you are probably right doing a brim to brim test is the most accurate way, although both the MPG readings were taken from the same flawed system! 🙈

So that means I qualify and a petrolhead!
  11. Good job you don't you grumpy old bugger!!! 😂
  12. Hi Philip A friend of mine has two original Lexus chrome tailpipes in good condition for sale, so let me know if you need some, they are horrendously expensive if you buy them from Lexus! Anthony
  13. Well said Richard Do not worry about the miles Philip, its more important to consider the condition and the life it has had. Anthony
  14. Hi Malc Sounds like you went in the right direction going down to Devon and we got all the appalling stuff! There is nothing like having a good rant, crack on mate...it makes me feel so much better...lol Ant 🐜
  15. A dissapointing day for all who take every opportunity to drive top down. The weather here has turned today with torrential rain coming sideways, hail like snow, thunder and lightning! I hope some of you guys have had a better day!
  16. It is dissapointing that Lexus feels that it is fair to charge their customers £160 for a set of wheel centre caps! If anyone is requiring wheel centre caps and need to look at a more reasonable alternative then download the Wish app and you can see the ones below.
  17. It makes me wonder if he was covering himself. This is because a few comments appear to support that swapping wheels arround on some Lexus models can cause a problem. If you tell everyone that it's a problem then they are covered!
  18. I find the labels are very useful especially when my little helper (Lexiguy Junior) is working with me!
  19. Hi Graham Don't look for the sting....just enjoy! 😁 Steaming up It may be basic but you haven't got the system on recycle, also in poor weather I always drive with the air con switched on. Water ingress into boot Have a look at the boot seal at the back under the rear window, it's usually that which causes the problem. Ensure it is clear of any debris which would impede the flow of water around to the sides and away. The seal on mine was pushed onto double sided tape on the flange and was well stuck, it didn't feel right to pull it off to clean, check and lubricate without incurring more work possibly for no reason. In each back corner there are drain holes which allow water into the little catchment trays and out through the drain pipe. So, clean the channel and the seal looking for seal damage or poor fitting, make sure the drain holes are clear, then lubricate the seal very well so it is supple. I would recommend Shin Etsu grease which isn't cheap but I have found it to be fabulous. Then retest. Let us know how you get on. Regards, Anthony

I am just using on the MPG on the led display above the radio unit.

Using the power button certainly improves the performance, its response is quicker and remains in gears longer which makes for a more spirited drive. That's the good news! It is with dismay that I have to report my MPG has gone down from 17.2 to 14.5 over just shy of 100 miles. All the milage was local, up and down hills, odd short flat fast straight sections, pretty much the norm for me. I will continue the test for the remainder of my tankful and report back again. Anthony
  22. Hi Glyn It was the receptionist at Lexus Leeds who told me they were linked to a particular wheel and therefore rotation of wheels to even the wear is not possible without additional work if the rims and sensors are not put back in the same position. I obviously took the information as being true but if you or anyone else can clarify it is wrong I will speak to them when it goes in for service, a week on Monday. Anthony
  23. Plenty of room in those for boys toys!!!
  24. I visited a small powder coaters in Slaithwaite yesterday to enquire about refurbishing my wheels. Big patches of undercoat are now visable where the paint has come off the rims. They were painted by the supplying garage when I bought it. They want the wheels bare, so no trims or valves. Lexus once told me the valves/tpms sensors are linked to a corner of the car so if removed they must be marked so they can be replaced back to their original position. I had confidence that they do a good job but what to do with the trims presented a problem. They asked what the trims were made out of, can anyone answer that? They thought they may be chrome plated under the bronzy coating? Has anyone got experience of refurbishing the trims? Can the trims be stripped and spray painted successfully? Your knowledge on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Anthony
  25. Hi Richard I agree with you about the quality, I had one I bought from Screwfix but it was rubbish compared to SGS boxes. My only negative comment is that both SGS boxes I bought had minor damage which was consistent with a rough carrier but not bad enough for me to want to get involved with sending back and all the stress and hassle that goes with it. Ant
