Remember Convertibles are more desirable when the weather improves so their prices strengthen similar to 4x4's with the first covering of snow. You might wait a long time to find a good one on your doorstep. Good luck, I have never regretted taking the plunge! Anthony

.....and there was Perry and I thinking it was one of those special tools you had bought from Lexus 🤣
-
Hi Richard Sounds like a top tip!!! Well it appears that you have given us many for any other brave owners out there! Anthony
-
It looked like pine to me Perry!! 🤣

Hi Paul The only problem is he is a Yorkshire man too and will be looking for the best deal too! 🤣 They are collecting and delivering mine again tomorrow for this reoccuring problem with my TPMS light staying on , lets hope they cure it this time! Anthony

Hi Richard Well done for sorting that complex problem out. As you say, it was not a job for the faint hearted! It just shows what the right parts, equipment, knowledge and a good dollop of bravery can achieve! Thanks for sharing your experience of what you did with pictures. Anthony

Denso Parking Sensor Control Unit and 430 Water Leaks
Lexiguy replied to Graham Wilkinson's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
Hi Graham Well done to you......CURED!!! One down more to come eh? Get the top down and have fun! Anthony -
Hi Richard It's even more frustrating when you want to help but do not possess the experience, expertise and knowledge to help. Also, as this problem would indicate, sometimes it is not easy even with the Internet and manuals at hand. Well done, Anthony

Hi Petrocelli When I bought my car about 2 years ago, a 57 plate I was petrified that I had bought a lemon and was not happy until Lexus had done a check over and serviced it. Although corrosion is not a concern we commonly hear about it is always possible depending how it has been treated and kept, salt corrosion etc etc. It is impossible to check it all over for rust except on a ramp but if you are a serious buyer, by prior arrangement a local garage will pop it on a ramp for you. Good luck and be brave, Anthony

Besides, she looks a bit 'high maintenance' to me 🤣

Hi Stewart I'm not surprised he looked ****** off with that big bottle stuck into his groin, only two cans of beer and she is not even using the recommended two bucket process! Regards, Anthony

Denso Parking Sensor Control Unit and 430 Water Leaks
Lexiguy replied to Graham Wilkinson's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
Hi Graham I have been wracking my brains about your original question and realised that when I worked in Bradford for Lexus we used the Denso factory to help us with problems and sourcing items. It is in Shipley on the outskirts of Bradford. They were always very helpful and me be the answer to your problem. Regards, Anthony -
...and the General Manager has a silver one with the same problem, perhaps there is a deal to be done 🤔

I mean he is ginger and she is blonde 🤣

Hi Perry I feel you may be running too low at 32psi, I have mine at 36psi and like the feel of them at that. I reckon anywhere around the 36psi but it depends on the temperature (how hot they are when you start driving) if its short runs (so the don't really warm up) and driving style to name a few! Good luck Ant

Hi Paul Yes getting Lexus Leeds to do it might be the best thing, am I right in thinking yours is silver too? Perhaps we can do a deal...two for the price of one?? Ant 😆

Denso Parking Sensor Control Unit and 430 Water Leaks
Lexiguy replied to Graham Wilkinson's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
Hi Graham Good to hear from you, and a happy new year! Ah water ingress, it still makes me cringe despite it being many years since I was in the motortrade. They can be very difficult to find their entry place and sometimes even harder to fix them! My water ingress is in the ns of the boot lid aperture below the rear screen. I have thought it was cured more than once but when we have a severe rain storm it seems to start again. I will cure it one day which will stop me having to check her nervously after rain. We get plenty down here too! Good luck and keep us informed. I am considering returning to Tony Banks Exhausts to have my single chrome tailpipes replaced with double ones each side. It would look a beast then! Regards, Anthony Thoughts chaps, or chapesses if we have any on here! -
Hi Lance That was a fabulous offer you made for any SC430 owner needing tyres but their finances are tight. I hope you were successful in helping a fellow club member. Regards, Anthony 👍

Be aware that the prices we see advertised are sometimes not realistic and not achieved. Buyers of a niche market vehicle like an SC430 are not abundant and sometimes its a matter of waiting for the right person. Good luck and you are in the right place with the right weather for the car to attract attention. Good luck, Anthony

I know what you mean but I can see beauty in some of them, especially the Japanese lowered ones. Although we have a guy who attends the annual meet with a blue one that is on bags but the loss of boot space is too much of a compromise for me.

It's not an exact science, I had to choose wisely (more like trial and error or educated guesswork likmmm to choose the correct bulb and maximum led light possible. I think they were all bought on ebay. Then I removed the front bumper to get access to renew the foglight bulbs and remove the headlights. You could do with two people to remove the bumper one at each corner and something soft to set it down on. While the bumper is off you could kill two birds with one stone and fit front parking sensors, I bought a set of flush ones which look very modern and easy to fit. The only thing is modern bulbs are so good that they make the zenons look poor! Have fun, Anthony

It appears that we are quite exact guys and it is important to always supply them with the correct presents for birthdays and Christmases! My list of parts supplied this Christmas included: 1. A fitted luggage set 2. A pair of boot struts 3. A sunvisor glasses clip 4. A set of plastic coated lug nut sockets. 5. Front LED repeater indicator strobe light units. 5. Oh, and a car battery charger! I have started the birthday list for May as I believe it is only right and helpful to give them a large selection to choose from. Anthony 😂

Steady on Bill, next thing you will be saying they have small feet to get nearer to the kitchen units and they wore white wedding dresses to match the old kitchen appliances! Anthony

Remove Sat Nav disk player/ control module from trunk of 2001 SC
Lexiguy replied to RIB1001's topic in Lexus SC430 Club
Hi George The Internet, particularly you tube is is a great place to start when carrying out any new job on your car. I am sure there is a video on there which will help. From I'm sure it is an easy job, no special tools and no fiddly bits. Just remember the removal sequence and follow it in reverse for the rebuild. I speak from experience! Good luck and let us know how you get on. Anthony
