  1. They say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and when I look at an SC430 I am certainly a beholder! I arrived home yesterday and could not resist taking a photo so I could relive the moment again and again, thinking I'm a lucky guy! Is that sad or what? Does any one else feel like that?
  2. Hi Thomas Happy New Year to you! I am presuming you have checked it has coolant. It could be the thermostat or blockage in the coolant circulation. I would go for the thermostat and Rev Lexus put a YouTube clip out a couple of days ago on changing it. Good luck mate Anthony
  3. I have just heard that the Yorkshire Motorsport Festival 2022 is going ahead on 24, 25 & 26 June, and the link is https://www.ymsf.net/ It is in the fields above my village of Meltham and I will certainly be going all 3 days. Last year it was a great event, loads of things to look at despite Covid affecting the numbers and stopping the live bands performing. If anyone is interested in attending I would be happy to help them with finding local b&b's or anything else, please message me direct. I am hoping that Lexus will have a display, Toyota did last year. Perhaps we could make it a mini SC430 meet.

  4. Thanks for your replies guys (even Malc's) it does help to feel I am not heading for a massive annual tax bill! Anthony
  5. Hi Guys I have just been told the disturbing news that road tax is due to take a massive hike in a few months and my car, a 2007 SC430 will be £2750 annually, is this true? Should I or we be preparing ourselves and saving up? Anthony 🤔
  6. I am gathering together all the parts required to replace rear discs, pads and shoes, also to refurbish the calipers! 😀
  7. Hi Neil It's a bit frustrating as I am finding that Lexus parts including postage are much cheaper from USA or even in some cases Japan or UAE. Besides the rear brake pad trims I am also looking for a chrome bonnet lip finisher and the same seems true for both parts. Ant
  8. Thanks for that but it is really confusing why they would say that to me! Anthony
  9. The parts listed below do not fit a SC430 so I presume they do not fit any other of the cars listed in the description. The first hint that something was awry was when I used the eBay vehicle checker and it only listed manufacturers of motor bikes and so I emailed the company direct who confirmed my suspicions!
  10. Hi Gedwood I am happy to help any fellow SC430 owners but unfortunately I can't accept the glory this time as it was Neil who supplied the information. Good luck with your problem and I hope you get it sorted. Let us know and you may be educating us! Ant
  11. Merry Christmas Malc Apparently it is a secret, paid in cash so I may never know! Is that good or bad? 🤔
  12. Is it possible when the tyres were changed that the wheels we put back on the opposite sides? I believe the sensors should always remain on the same corner of the vehicle or this will cause the system to believe there is a problem. Just a thought that will only cost you Good luck, Anthony
  13. Hi Neil Yes it was in good company surrounded by Ferraris, a Lambo and a Vette. There were 2 Ferrari F40's alongside mine and behind it under the blue cover cost £2.75 million. He opened the door and it was raining heavily, despite this we did a run over the Pennines round and back home, 30 miles in total. It may have only been away for 3 days but....I missed her alot!
  14. Hi Stew I would like to do the rear brakes like the front ones I did but EBC do not have discs in stock. I am hoping they will be available in the new year because I already have new shoes and clips, new pad clips, pistons, paint etc etc!
  15. I have collected my car and I am really impressed, many of the marks on the body and trim which I struggled to remove have been dealt with. The interior is fantastic the leather is so clean and soft. The glass is now crystal clear.
  16. Goodness only knows, it was negotiated by Claire and it will no doubt be our credit card that gets the punishment! 😬
  17. No but I would love the opportunity to see how may horses are missing from my SC430!
  18. Merry Christmas Stew and I hope you get lucky with you request! Yes, it is a poor time of year to have it valeted but they are spending 3 days on it so I'm hoping carpet removal for cleaning is on their agenda! 😀
  19. Please accept season's greetings to one and all here in Lexus Owners Club Usually I have to wait until Santa has been before I get my present, but this year Santa was early! Necessity means my pride and joy will be collected by the renowned Italia Autosport in Meltham and over the next two days they are going to carry out a full valet! What a brilliant present from my wife! Anthony
  20. Hi Bill Yes it is a bit frustrating when a car has the capability to fold its mirrors in yet this is not programmed to operate on locking/unlocking the vehicle. It would be a great benefit to me and I wish it could be configured at a reasonable cost, I for one would certainly go for it! Regards, Anthony
  21. Hi Michael Using a Lexus maindealer can be frightening financially but as there are no independent Lexus specialists in my area who would have the knowledge and equipment to look after my car, I elected to grit my teeth and go the maindealer route! I have not been dissapointed as Lexus Leeds are lovely people to deal with from the top down, infact the General Manager has recently bought a SC430 to prepare for fun times in his retirement. As I said earlier, Kwikfit was unable to reset the TPMS system but they were happy to reimburse me for the sensor when I returned it to them. Lexus replaced that sensor amd all seemed OK but on my way home light came back on. I spoke to Danny the service advisor who was apologetic and rebooked the vehicle back in. On that visit they replaced another sensor which was not working properly. There was no charge for that work due to my inconvenience....and you can't say fairer than that. I have taken a service contract with them and look forward to future visits without trepidation! So going to a Lexus Dealer may be the best move....it was for me! Good luck mate, Anthony
  22. Hi Michael I had the TPMS light on when I bought my car and needed to resolve the problem. Despite experiences of TPMS lights giving false indication in cold weather it felt uncomfortable to disconnect the light. I went to Quikfit who replaced the leaking valve and sensor which I believe cost £80. Unfortunately they were unable to get the sensor to reset the system. I explained I was going to Lexus Leeds in two days so I would ask them to reset it. Lexus tried but it would not reset until they had replaced the Qwikfit sensor with a Lexus one. To cut a longer story short I did not have any problems in the last 4 months until the system warned me of low pressure in a rear tyre due to a nail! I may be a minority but I feel much happier knowing the system works 😀.
  23. I saw my 3rd SC430 on the road in-between New Mill and Holmfirth. It was gone in a flash and the only thing I could be certain of is that it was blue. We guickly waved cheerily at each other but I wondered if the guy who was driving is a Lexus Club Member? Let me know if its you!
  24. There was a big change in the VED, later ones like mine (2007) paying £600 for 12 months. I was initially very keen on just buying the newest and lowest milage example I could find but realised that wasn't the best buying criteria to use. I wish you luck with finding your new car! Regards, Anthony
  25. Yes, totally doable and when I achieved my dream of owning one I am impressed by comfort, reliability, performance and it makes me smile every time I hear the beating heart of the big v8! Go for it...it won't dissapoint!
