  1. Nearly got together all the parts I need to do the rear brakes, just trying to source rear pad fitting kit (pins, clips etc) if anyone has found any recently.
  2. This appears to be one way of future proofing the v8 engine!
  3. I have found it on ebay for a shade over £25. My rubbers look like new now 👍
  4. I know mate....but its the best!
  5. Hi Russ I would say not, I was recommended to use Honda S2000 Shin-Etsu grease and I have to say it is brilliant, expensive but brilliant!
  6. Been to Aldi today and picked up a Special Buys leaflet and noticed several workshop, tools and car items and I wondered if any of the items are on the list were of interest of you guys!
  7. Hi Nemesis Where is the cabin air filter located? On which routine services is it changed? Thanks Ant
  8. Hi Mark I am thinking that it would probably be a good idea to have a recording front camera wired in at the same time. A guy on here or another lexus forum recommended one which also flags up safety cameras which would be a good bonus. It would also be good to fit a more sophisticated alarm system because a bonus of that would be that I have seen that it is possible to put the roof up and down with the remote. Who is the quote from? It may be worth me considering speaking to them. It has been recommended to me that if I want the unit to be reliable to only use genuine cds and not to fill the autochanger. I also recommend the latest Rod Stewart cd called Tears of Hercules, its brilliant and even my 11 year old sings along to all the tracks now! Ant
  9. Please share your ideas, without which it certainly looks like it will pan out to be a bigger job!
  10. Hi Russ In all honesty mine is the same and I was waiting for the better weather to address the problem. I looked and surmised the front seat would require removal and thought, that is a sunny day job! When I do mine I will let you know if I learn any more. Anthony
  11. That is your local Lexus dealer.
  12. Welcome Mark, I bought a 2007 SC430 as a daily driver about 6 months ago. I have always bought new well equipped cars and so it was a big change for me. I do have the use of my wifes car, a Suzuki Swace Hybrid which has proved useful in bad weather or for family travel. It is a thirsty beast and has limited space in the back or the boot, but putting that aside it is without doubt the best car I have ever had and makes me smile every single time I get into it. They have an incredibly high specification for their age but I do miss parking sensors, rear camera and the ability to steam music from my phone. These can all be sorted if required (at a cost) I have never regretted buying mine but my feelings are buy one with a good service history and the best condition you can find, irrespective of age or colour. I have also found Lexus Leeds have been really helpful and would encourage you to acquaint yourself with them. Regards, Anthony
  13. Yes thats right but you will need access under the carpet to fit the rings! That is removal of the sill trim and probably front seat. Good luck mate, Anthony
  14. Hi Russ I bought these and they are correct for SC430! Anthony
  15. Hi Thomas I do not know the manufacturer of the genuine Lexus thermostat but I am aware of the manufacturer Gates and believe their products are reliable. What is the cost difference, if it is significant I personally would not hesitate to fit a Gates product? Regards, Anthony
  16. Hi Steve I was not in pursuit of more power it was to improve the tone and volume. Thanks Ant
  17. Hi Russ and Steve Perhaps we can do a South Peak District meet when the weather improves? Including anyone else who wants to join us! Ant
  18. I believe that the 3rd cat serves a purpose and without it the tolerances when emissions are tested reduce. Great video Steve, there are several good ones on utube but few show the configuration.
  19. Hi Russ Welcome to our group! Beautiful looking car you have there, well done. Anthony
  20. Hi Steve Yes, I love touching the proper wood wood too and not just for luck 😁 Ant
  21. Yes, I believe my car still has a stock exhaust but when it deteriorates it will be replaced bespoke from centre cat back. It's on the list! (long list 😁)
  22. Hi Steve You have a great colour combo! I met one in Huddersfield a few months back. I have had mine 6 months and I love the V8 rumble as it starts up! I am told mine has the ivory interior which sure benefitted from a professional clean. I presume you are talking about the really dark wood that looks like bur walnut which is gorgeous, I wish I could get hold of a set!
  23. Cheers Steve It's good to hear I am not on my own...lol What colour is yours and how long have you had it? Ant
  24. Cheers Roy I came home from Manchester top down at teatime over the Pennines on the winding Holme Moss road. She pulled like a train climbing up handling the corners beautifully, then thundered along the straight flat road at the top before dropping down the bendy section with the new brakes giving me absolute confidence. I thought wow...what a car!
