  1. Hi Roy That's why we always sit in these ones!!! UPDATE, been informed that they are unable to alter the settings to automatically fold because the vehicle is too old and their equipment does not recognise the codes to alter the settings! Over to you Martin!! Anthony
  2. I declined the selection of pastries but Lexiguy Junior couldn't resist! They certainly know how to treat customers!!
  3. I am currently in Lexus Leeds, my car is in for a small service, lexus spring clean, brake fluid flush and change and they are also going to hopefully go into the vehicles settings and switch on the automatic mirror folding on locking! The staff are all fantastic without exception and always make me feel like a valued customer!
  4. Hi guys I have finished, a good job Darren my friend and neighbour helped. Initially dealing with jacking and axle stands on a sloping site. Loads of tricky bits, removing the discs because they were stuck on the shoes despite backing the adjuster of fully. Also the spring clips on the rear shoes were difficult (no wonder many utube clips mess that bit out....lol) also the gentleness needed when replacing the caliper pistons and seals. But with dogged determination the job was completed! They look brilliant and stop great I would send you pics but the site won't allow me to, it just says: "Sorry an unknown server error has occurred....error code 200"
  5. Well done Martin, Your tenacity is impressive, as initially this feed you started was going nowhere fast The power folding of mirrors when locking the car sounds brilliant and would be definitely worth doing when you have sorted the clever bit! Anthony
  6. Today has been a long day....and it will start again tomorrow. Managed to get calipers off and stripped them down and rebuilt with new pistons, 2 coats of primer and 2 of satin black, and removed old brake shoes. Tomorrow is 2 lacquer coats and then rebuild!
  7. Hi guys, I've now got all the parts together that I will need for my rear brake overall, so tomorrow is the long awaited rear brakes time! New discs, shoes, pads, service the calipers with new pistons etc then clean and spray paint them, refit and bleed. Blimy it sounds quite a list of work but hopefully if there are no hitches it should go well! Anthony
  8. Well done Richard! Where there is a will there is a way
  9. I hound this on the Internet when I was trying to find out how the horizontal bars are attached to the frame and how they could be removed.
  10. You might well laugh as you have stripped your car right down and rebuilt.....you've been through the pain!!! 🤣😂
  11. Hi Russ and Stewart My thoughts now is to wait for a good sunny set of days, remove the seats, sill trims and centre console. Then I can remove the beige carpet in its entirety to give it a good shampoo and steam clean, dry and refit the circles and carpet. It is a fair sized job but the result will be worth the effort. Anthony
  12. I hope you are using your Lexus Owners Club Gold Member discount card and you asked them for a good deal as it is an older vehicle. My local dealer, Lexus Leeds are very accomodating to help in this area Good luck, Anthony
  13. Hi Russ I don't know the answer to your enquiry but could you check the part number for a pre facelift model and post facelift and if there part numbers are the same then it would sound like it would work. Great looking car mate, it looks terrific in white 👌 Anthony
  14. Thanks Neil I too believe that the front is the weakest design part of the whole car and hence the thought that a more modern grille would help the front, no end. I have found exactly what I am looking for due to the link you sent but was shocked by one company charging £1000.....ridiculous money! It does appear that it will be a diy job removing the badge and bars then securing the mesh and refitting the badge. I wish I could see the back to understand how he mounted the mesh grille on to the frame. It does need the emblem back on but I think it would look fabulous! Anthony

  18. I have to agree that removing the grill and its horizontal bars and replacing these with a chrome mesh grille would look much more modern. What was your intention to do with yours? Anthony

    Today

Today I went to collect a new front bumper skin for my wife's Suzuki Swace and yes I was guilty of putting an irreparable dint in it! Now not many people know this but it did fit in my topless SC430 with one end down into the passenger footwell. What I then noticed was the bubble wrap and quality checked tape which was around it ( Lexus and Toyota ). After some thought the answer clicked: The part came from Toyota as the Swace shares a body with the Toyota Corolla Estate!

  20. You do need to get out in it more, it would save you all that battery charging and resetting! 🤣 🤣
  21. Thanks Neil, I had a feeling you would put the finishing touches to that 👍 I seem to remember that using that process only sorted the drivers seat, so I mentioned it when it next went into Lexus Leeds and with no comment or charge, when collected it sprang miraculously back to life! Ant
  22. Hi Barry I had the same problem with mine when I bought it and was told the procedure to reset it. I believe it was to move the seat base all the way forwards until you hear a beep, then move the seat base all the way backwards, then move the seat back forwards until you hear a beep then recline it all the way backwards. This should reset it and the memory works. Good luck mate!
  23. Got Lexiguy Junior to help me with washing and vacuuming the car before we went out for a run. We then went over the Pennines on the Woodhead Pass, then to Glossop, Tameside, Barnsley and Holmfirth. Unable to upload a photo I took of washing the car and I cant hnderstand why but I will send them when it allows me!!! It says: "Sorry, an unknown server error occurred when uploading this file. Error code 200." What ever that means 🤔
