    Keys

Hi guys I got one key and the service key when I bought my car, this has bothered me since then worrying that if I lost my key or it broke I would be stumped. Then it happened, it broke, well the case broke and I was forced to resolve the problem. I bought a case, blade, battery and buttons from ebay and then had the blade cut this morning. It was £15 for the cutting which means it was £21 in total. The key looks excellent, just like an OEM key with gold L hidden under a piece of black masking tape. I have now ordered a second one and a little remote pad to fit inside it from the same supplier so I am hoping that will give me a spare 3 button key!
  2. Yes it's a 250 mile round trip for me, Lexiguy Junior will be coming and hopefully the wife too, probably book somewhere Sat night.
  3. Look what my grimy cream interior was like at last years meeting!
  4. Neil is being modest...as usual! He has the fastest SC out (11) there! Mine isn't a garage queen either, it's my daily driver and I enjoy it every day! Don't worry about the imperfections because you will get lots of advise if you want it, and next year we can see the progress! I will be there with Lexiguy Junior and possibly the wife too! It is a 250 mile round trip for me but a 'can't miss' opportunity to meet friend old and new! Hope to see you there, Ant
  5. Hi Andy I have been informed that it is on a Facebook site, look for Lexus SC430 Club UK but I do not Facebook It is Sunday 9th July At: The Bear Inn, Spencer's Lane, Berkswell, Coventry, CV7 7BB. The organiser is guy called Juan, but apart from that, I know no more. Regards, Anthony
  6. Thanks Steve I will have another go to see if it cures it Both the sat nav and the sat nav cover are not working. The radio works intermittently (a mind of its own switching on and off mid journey or works for hours) but the radio cover works fine. Anthony
  7. Hi Andy Look at the other feed on the SC group called exhaust, it is recent and has some pertinent information. The only bad news is you would need to come up to Yorkshire and chill out with us for the day! Are you going to the Coventry SC430 meet up in a couple of weeks? Anthony 20220525_163230.mp4
  8. Hi Malc Yes, this really is top down weather! Not used to this, now showing 28° up here in the hills but the lovely breeze makes it perfect!! So glad I'm not working so I can enjoy it! Ant
  9. Gorgeous day up here in the Pennines!
  10. Hi Zaheid Apparently it is on a Facebook site for SC430's but I do not use that. It is Sunday 9th July At: The Bear Inn, Spencer's Lane, Berkswell, Coventry, CV7 7BB. I believe the organiser is guy called Juan, but apart from that, I know no more. Regards, Anthony
  11. Hi Zahied Are you going to the SC430 meet on Sunday 10th July at Birkswell, Coventry? If you do, you will see many enthusiasts and may get answers to many of your questions. It's good to put faces to names too! Anthony
  12. Hi Steve When I lost sat nav and flap movement I revisited all the connections I could find and reach but that did not cure the nav problem. It was over two weeks later that the I lost my music. I retried all the plug in connections but to no avail. I have made 9 short journeys (start ups) today and bizarrely on 3 of these times the radio came on! Anthony
  13. Yes no sound at all but radio Visually looks like it is all working fine
  14. Hi Zahied Yes I was on both forums but only this one now, it isn't as active or proactive but there are a lot of good guys on here! Ant
  15. I have now lost my CD1 channel, volume control on steering wheel, all sound from the radio, sat nav flap or unit not opening....what has happened, what have I done and is it all linked? Ant
  16. Welcome to the group Zahied, the reason you were initially talking to yourself was that this sort of thing is clever stuff but now you have linked with Steve (clever fellow) you are in safe hands. Easier questions, queries or comments will elicit much more response. Good luck, Anthony
  17. Well guys it didn't work!! But..today I pulled it off again and found more debris right at the corner. When that was removed a drain hole could be felt right on the corner and it was now clear. Removed all the old silicone and re siliconed it and taped it into the exact position it should be in. I have now removed the tape and a water test indicated that the repair was effective! Hurrah! 🥳
  18. Hi Joe Your car looks beautiful! Shame you aren't coming to the SC430 meet on Sunday, it would be great to look around it! Anthony
  19. Thanks for all your replies, you have given me food for thought and different directions to take. I will respond again after some trials.
  20. My 2007 SC430 has marks on the screen which look a bit like water marks, I have tried unsuccessfully to remove them with several products. I am thinking about using wire wool as a last ditch attempt but worry about doing irreparable damage. Has anyone had experience in this area and can make any suggestions? Even my local valeter was unable to sort it so I would be grateful for any suggestions that you clever guys out there can make! Thanks Anthony
  21. Beautiful day in Yorkshire, working at Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield today and enjoyed a beautiful one hour sunny top down journey from home!
  22. There was also a leather specialist who cleaned my seats and did a brilliant job!
  23. Id be gutted too, but dont worry the good news is: At the Sleaford meeting last year there was a really good dent repairer so he might be there again. He did one on my rear wing through behind the rear light cluster. He did a brilliant job but wouldn't accept payment from me and even paid my lad for carrying his bag around for him while he did various repairs! If he is there again he will be able to get in even if he has to drill a tiny hole in the strengthener. Ant
  24. As much as it would be good to see you and your 460, I for one was wanting another look at your super modified SC!
  25. Hi Neil Graham's car was much noiser than him, but only just! 😂 He was not allowed to buy raffle tickets either..poor lad. He lives well north in Scotland now. It is being held in neutral ground this year...its at a bar and restaurant carpark so I suppose anyone could go and park there. This year there are no competitions or judging so that's a good! Anyway it sounds like fate is putting you up here, so it's a no brainer....see you in the carpark!!! Ant
