Hi Glyn Besides the engine it was such an advanced car when it was introduced. Thinking of how complex, efficient and reliable the hardtop is. Then the ML unit and changer, how it can display the album and track names which was way ahead of its time. At that time, the rest of the fantastic things it had could only be found in a top of the range, executive vehicle from a prestige manufacturer. It is tantamount to Lexus that the reliability they build into their vehicles is still holding up well some 20 years on, when other cars have lost their reliability and are riddled with problems. Thank you Lexus for giving us the SC430! Anthony

Hi Graham I was the same, I had never bought a car with 85k and it was an unknown quantity as to the quality of service and if corners had been cut. Mine went straight into Lexus Leeds and as experts they found and rectified concerns. Since they have looked after it I now have confidence in my car to do any road trip. Hi Paul I have never heard that and think it is highly unlikely as it delays up-changes by the gearbox which is less fuel efficient. Give it a go and if you can give confirmation of a way of fuel saving you will be a hero on here! 🤝 🏅 Anthony

Hi Philip In my opinion SC's are a fabulously engineered car and although many are well used and high milage they appear to suffer less problems thsn other manufacturers. If the seals are very hard and dry I would recommend using Shin Etsu grease, it is not cheap but I was told about it and it has completely rejuvenated my rubber seals! Anthony

Don't knock yourself Ken that's a fancy title and I bet you didn't get it if you weren't full of appropriate knowledge and skill. There must be a small task you can undertake on your car which you could start with. It would help your confidence to look at a further project. The biggest thing is to not worry and have fun doing it! Anthony

Hi Paul Lexus SC430 wheels fit other models in the Lexus range so it would widen your scope of potential buyers to confirm exactly which ones from a reliable source. You could then advertise them on here in the Wheels and Tyres section or Sell Parts and Accessories. You could always put looking for £500 and they are off a SC430 but it is believed they fit other Lexus models. Be aware the lug nuts seats may differ on the aftermarket wheels from the original fitment so it's imperative that issue is considered as you you may want to advertise the Wheels with lug nuts. That is okay but I do not Facebook so it would be up to others on this site to help direct SC430 owners to this site. I will contact a few people who run registers for other owners clubs to pick their brains about the implications of GDPR and how they started up. Let's see where it goes eh?
