  1. Thanks James, Wow you have volvo 240 and 740 love those old school bricks proper volvo those! I had mitchelin cross climate few years back on the prius the sidewalls were really weak had to replace them under 20k! The worst tyres I've ever had were Avon zz3. Had a issue twice with them. Once in my mrk2 mr2 and a blowout on my e34 5 series bmw. After that's would never touch Avon ever again! 👍
  2. Hey everyone, Hope your all keeping well. Over the years from my limited experience with tyres I've found that Bridgestone with A rating for wet grip have been the best all round tyres. Their sidewalls are strong and they last a long time. I like continental but found the sidewalls aren't as strong. On last car had Pirelli Scorpion winter tyres (they came with the car so don't know what they're like when brand new). I always go for the tyres with A wet grip rating. How about you lot what tyres do you like? I think brakes and tyres is where you want to spend money! lol
  3. Lol I don't have much spare time at moment but sometimes you can go overkill! When I was in my 20s I developed a 32 step procedure to valet the car but I was slightly obsessive with it! Lol I can see why some people get ocd with these things! It's a workout itself to do it and you need time to rest afterwards 🤣
  4. Sure will update the thread. Probably be in July when I get some holidays. There mini valet seems good value 12 autoglym products used for £22!
  5. On a side note in my profile picture is when I was in Monaco next to a mazerati MC12 bet the heart rate would race in that thing! lol
  6. I've got a fitbit need to charge the battery. As an experiment would be interesting to wear it for a week and track my average heart rate when driving the LS! 🙂
  7. Hi Vlad, It's on Stockport road in Manchester. Not sure I'm allowed to put details in this thread have sent you a DM
  8. Hi everyone, Had Lexus before. Do you guys find driving your car makes you more relaxed and calm? I'm between in all the cars I've driven I still find Audi drivers to be the overall most obnoxious (fill in the expletive of choice) ! Lol 🤣🤣
  9. Thanks, I always use genuine parts if possible. Oil filters are cheap enough from the dealer. Spoke to Lexus they told me to use toyota 5w30 oil. Toyota main dealer have a special offer on where if you buy 4 you can get 5 litres of oil for just £12.50! It's the same oil which goes in the crown xf30 as the engine is the same so seems like a no brainer! Spoke to independent mechanic today and he said the same! 👌
  10. I've always used Varta as the volts and cca have always been good. I think the silver dynamic is Vartas premium line 👍
  11. Yeah I noticed autoglym is quite dusty. I think that's down to my ability though I think it might be technique. At some point gonna try the autoglym valters in Manchester. They told me for a mini valet it's £22 not too bad as their advertised as using 12 autoglym products in the valet so using quality stuff 👌
  12. Yeah Paul's gonna sort it all out for me 🙂
  13. The shark nose still got a punch to them! Never had French/Italian cars before what they like?
  14. Sorry D5 not d4 for Volvo would be year 08/09
  15. Not talking about really flash/expensive cars. These would be my top 5 pick: 1) LS430 - has to be were on a Lexus forum of course! lol 2) LC4 Landcruiser 3) BMW e34 535i (auto) 4) BMW e63 m6 (manual) 5) Volvo XC70 D4/T6 Or Volvo s80 V8 awd What would you have? 🙂
  16. Meguires are nice products to use. Have you tried dodo juice, poorboys and autogylm?
  17. In my old Rav4 tried Tesco regular diesel seemed bit sluggish. Went back to regular shell diesel and it seemed to fly!
  18. Also the label on the back says API: SL/CF ACEA: A1/B1,A5/B5
  19. I spoke to Lexus Bolton couple of weeks ago. They told me that Toyota 5w30 oil would be fine for it. It makes sense as the same engine is in the Toyota Celsior XF30 and cross referencing with Toyota they said that engine oil is the correct one!
  20. I'm a big believer in preventative maintenance but expensive 😭😂
  21. As above 🙂 Use meguires think it's the best stuff what about you guys?
  22. Hi Everyone, What oil do you use? The 3uz engine is in the Toyota Celsior xf30 and Toyota told me that uses 5w30 oil. I asked Lexus Bolton and they told me you can use toyota 5w30 engine oil in the 430 (as the engine is the same to my knowledge). What oil do you use? For petrol I've always used vpower in bigger engine/performance cars I've had. I've heard tesco momentum is supposed to be quite good and you can get clubcard points on them but I've always been hesistent of using supermarket fuel!
  23. Thanks guys, got booked in with Paul Frost lots of work, cambelt, idlers, tensioners, pulleys, oil cooler, waterpump and coolant
  24. Thank you everyone 🙂 I chose LS430 as old enough not to have too many electrics but new enough to feel modern. Good blend, plus old fashioned solidly built. Away for a couple of weeks will get couple of snaps. Black on black 🖤
