  1. Congrats and welcome!
  2. Have used PlastX in the past, long lasting results, as in several years later car sold and they were still gleaming. Done by hand. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-G12310EU-Plast-RX-Plastic-Headlight/dp/B07X9N3PPK?th=1
  3. Doesn't look right to me. Here's a close up... I'm OCD too and that would get on my nerves. What bugs me on mine are the parking sensors not sitting perfectly center. Anyone else have that? I'm talking fraction of a mm gap making a crescent on one side of the circle, on all of them grrr!
  4. you can also deactivate the keyless entry on the key by holding down two buttons on the fob, can't remember which off the top of my head
  5. I wouldn't have guessed that re sound quality. Older anc systems were notorious for this problem with limited processing power. But newer systems supposedly read your audio output and subtract any wavelengths from anc that would degrade the audio signal. Must try this out while stationary.
  6. Wow! People actually buy that? I really must dig into my box of random crap and see what I can sell. @e-yes yup it's a thing, but like the thread you have linked there it's a 1-3dB difference. Most of the heavy lifting is done by the structural sound proofing. Was in an electric (no range extender engine) BMW i3 the other day, ignoring the terrible ride quality, it was loud compared to the ES in town. Since we're talking quiet cabins here. It can be quiet enough in the ES that I can hear faint wind noise coming from the sunroof area at motorway speeds. Just closing the blind is enough to make it go away. Anyone else here noticed that? Yes I checked the seals while open and closed, it opens and closes normally, and when closed I don't feel any air movement on the inside at speed. I checked the outside parked, seems to be a snug fit, nothing popping over or in fact under the roof/bodywork. Now I'm obviously being nitpicky here, just curious if anyone else noticed it.
  7. Here's the Sep 2020 brochure. P19... "HYBRID SILENCE Powered by our latest Lexus Self-Charging Hybrid technology, the ES is incredibly quiet to drive. Whether in near-silent Electric Vehicle mode, or cruising at motorway speeds, you can enjoy talking to passengers or listening to your favourite music with very little background noise. Further refining the technology developed for the latest LS flagship saloon, advanced aerodynamics combined with Hybrid Acoustics™ and Active Noise Control have resulted in an outstanding level of cabin quietness." does not have an asterisk with *Available on selected grades and packs like ML or HUD unfortunately didn't download the list at the time, if you have it that would be geat es_brochure_102020_tcm-3157-2093698.pdf
  8. That's how I knew it has it, both sides and back. If it was just the microphone for voice commands, phone it should be only drivers side, right?
  9. Not sure when they standardized it across the range, but can confirm my 2021 has ANC. Not a new feature. Honda accord got it about 15 years ago in the US. Nice to have but the well dampened floor, wheel wells, double glazing, and even noise absorbing floor mats are I think more important. @Alan305 I wouldn't turn on ANC on a C6 either 😀
  10. Apparently, brake bias was different, with cc using rear bias for a smoother (less nose dip) braking.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, this used to be a feature in a lot of manufacturers, but then there were widespread complaints about brake disc consumption, especially the rears, so got dropped.
  12. Have them on mine. Had them on my old Civic, and they lasted for 83k Km(when the car is being sold). So far so good on the Lexus.
  13. 2021 ES manual specifically states that it will not control you speed going downhill and it will exceed the set speed. Mine and what you're describing for yours are behaving according to the manual. CC "On steep downhills Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill." ACC/DRCC "On steep downhills, or where there are sudden changes between sharp up and down gradients Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill"
  14. oh missed that, it's been about a couple of decades since I heard it last. Should be in my collection!
  15. Could you write us a mini guide on what to download, from where, which cables...? That would be great is this right? https://www.toyota-tech.eu/DiagnosticTools/Software/GTS
  16. Vanessa-Mae - Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (fasten your seatbelts) If country western with some nice bass is your thing then and last but not least EDIT can't believe i forgot
  17. Congratulations! Welcome to the chill club Is that silver or grey? Can confirm, sunstrip on my premium edition. Just noticed door jamb sticker says compact spare tyre. Did it come with one? Note to self: check own door sticker.
  18. congratulations! welcome to the club. The quiet and road smoothing suspension plus large driver size friendliness got me too. Long legs here, seat all the way back and still a little bent at the knee.
  19. congratulations! nice choice of color. Was tempted myself, but went for silver.
  20. What's your MPG on that bad boy?! Also, i wouldn't lean in to hear the pump priming if I were you 😀
  21. Last fillup was the first time I paid attention. It gave me an estimated 535 miles of range. That's when I averaged 52MPG. Wish I had paid attention when I averaged close to 60MPG on a tank. Tank is 50L ( little under 11 gallons).
  22. I filled up last Thursday as I was down to a quarter and noticed some pumps had those plastic out of fuel covers on them (Nelson). I think they were regular diesel and petrol. Didn't think much of it at the time, filled up with my usual vpower, clear I got lucky. Hope this blows over the next couple of weeks once the hoarders are done and I need to fill up again. Bunch of morons ruining it for everyone else! There's only so much medicine I can teach online, some skills can only be learnt hands on.
  23. UPDATE: So after a couple more thousand miles, this car is happiest as a very long distance cruiser. My current commute is mostly motorway 28 miles each way, some in town, quite a bit of up and down (elevation) = 51-52MPG. Much less then I got on the 700 mile trip. Did a 90 mile (45 each way) motorway round trip the other day = 55MPG. It seems the longer the drive the higher the MPG number goes. During that long trip it kept climbing till it hit that 60 peak, which was around the 200+ mile mark. Overall impressive for such a big cruiser.
  24. Thank you for the recommendation
  25. Does anyone have any personal experience with a moving company that they can recommend? I moved as much as I can personally during my trips back and forth but there are some things that just don't fit in a car (bed, couch 🚫). So I'm not shipping anything fragile or irreplaceable, and will have done all the packing beforehand. Just some help loading/unloading would be required. The move will be from Germany to here in the UK. Appreciate your insight as always. Thank you.
