  1. Given the diminutive home garage sizes in the UK, this would be a useful feature. I've seen too many garages where if you can park, you better sleep in the car. You ain't gettin' out. Next time I see an architect design or builder build a sub 3m wide garage I'm going to slap them.
  2. If it was intentional, I hope there's a special place in hell for people like that. Had mine, as you say, "baptized" the other day too in a traffic jam by an a$$wipe taxi belting down the hard shoulder. Left side got hit by rocks, some polished away, a couple were fingernail feelers that needed some touch up paint 🤬
  3. Germans don't do subtle, do they 😆 I should know, dealt with them for a decade As for the ES, as I approach the car in the dark the handles light up enough for me to see where to reach for. I'd say functional without being vulgar. Same for the footwell lights, enough to see where to step getting in without spot checking to see if my shoes are shiny enough. P.S I leave daily early morning in the dark
  4. Congratulations! One question why do the panel colors look a bit different between the front and back doors, or is that just from the shooting angle?
  5. Is it just me or does it seem capable of taking a full size spare? EDIT: just answered my own question, it can https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-drives-initial-ownership-reports/205507-driven-lexus-es-300h.html
  6. I'm favoring the last one on that list recently, it's easier and not far off the 365 for longevity which can be a faff (make sure to apply liberally and technically requires 24h to cure). So f you don't have a garage and can't leave the car for the full 24h I'd go with the waterless one step process. Another advantage of the waterless is that you can use it on windows and it behaves like rainX. Last thing to mention the 365 has excellent sheeting action while the waterless beads more. The 365 might suit you more if you don't let it completely strip, then next wash might be easier to dry as the water would mostly sheet off, so not much left to dry. Just make sure to use a shampoo that claims not to strip wax, and stay away from the harsh jet wash shampoos. See

  8. If I'm feeling up to it, I use meguiars quick spray detailer, (the lubricant you get with their clay bars) to prep the surface, making sure there's no remaining dirt after the wash is left over, followed by meguiars 365 paint protect (lasts a couple of months longer than the next method). Although now I'm older and lazier, and they have basically combined those 2 in their waterless wash and wax (just make sure to shake the bottle frequently as you apply, be generous, and use 3 microfibers not 2 = apply/dry/buff). I Still wash (jet wash, foam and mitt), still do a quick drive, then use waterless wash and wax and I'm good for a few months of touchless jet washes with only water (preferably DI). Dirt just falls off. Once the beading is reduced and you start seeing road film remain, repeat. I've cut down my actual touch washes to 3 a year and that's with jet washing the car in winter once a week to rinse down the salt (touchless and only water, don't forget the wheel wells and undercarriage). Application is easy and gentle, no hard rubbing required for either post wash method.
  9. Yup haven't hand dried a car the last 4 years. Makes a huge difference even under LED worklights. Although I just drive it after the wash (quick motorway jaunt in dry clear weather) then apply lubricant/polymer based protection.
  10. minus the merc's recent reliability record
  11. oh the samsungs are not that much more btw 16 pounds for the 64Gb, that is if they are in stock https://www.samsung.com/uk/memory-storage/memory-card/pro-endurance-microsd-card-with-sd-adapter-64gb-mb-mj64ga-eu/ Either way, on amazon pay attention to the seller. I wouldn't trust third party sellers. I think direct from amazon the sandisk is 12.29 (only 7p more). Sansung can't find it direct from amazon,so above link included but they're out of stock.
  12. if it can only write to 64Gb then the 128 might not even register unless you jam it in wrong, I don't see how a storage card can hurt the camera
  13. You're right on SSDs (I use samsung for my machines) but sandisk SD cards have been flawless for me for the last two decades in multiple devices including cameras. Just make sure you don't buy counterfeit ones. A lot of the bad rep comes from those. See https://www.techadvisor.com/test-centre/storage/best-microsd-cards-3640745/
  14. I would save your money and get a better spec and also made for high number of read write cycles like this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Endurance-Monitoring-Dashcams-MicroSDXC/dp/B07NY23WBG?th=1) at less than half the price with double the storage.
  15. Have you tried turning it off from the instrument cluster option menu rather than the button. Last menu on the right (the cog wheel) and scroll down to the vehicle settings. Car needs to be on and parked, it greys out when moving. Also remember to turn off the lane departure or active LKAS if you don't want any steering intervention when getting close to lines, or at least to warning mode so a beep or a vibration. It's a two part system LKAS and LTA. First keeps you in the lines, second centers you in lane when DRCC (adaptive cruise) is on.
  16. Level 1 warning visual - hands on wheel Level 2 audible warning Level 3 system disengages with audible warning and icon turns white Yes depending on the road the system can be a bit nagging, surprisingly the system in my last civic was better at resolving the lines. This one seems a small step back compared to the honda one, although the ACC here is miles better. The Honda one was a lot harsher on the brakes and picked up more cars on exits and while over taking. eh you win some you lose some. In either case, the system does reduce fatigue on looonger journeys. I can attest driving 13+ hours to germany and back with and without the system. System default for the LCA is high sensitivity, I haven't lowered it. Would be interested to read about your results next time you go out.
  17. I've had cars with and without. Can't say I mind either way as long as it's motorized.
  18. Highly unlikely, looks like a man. defect to me.
  19. You do have auto high bean, but not of the matrix variety. Just high when no-one is around, and back to low when an oncoming or overtaking car is detected. No blanking out trickery. Simple button at the end of the stalk to activate and deactivate the system.
  20. https://insideevs.com/news/550021/cold-lfp-battery-tesla-model3/ Depends on where it's parked overnight, can in worse case scenarios affect charging.
  21. Good step for cheaper mass production, agree, really want to see a scale up production run of their tabless batteries.
  22. Nice link, but that's just November that they overtook the diesels, scroll down to the YTD and there's still a 60k gap. Overall they're still just 10.6% of all YTD sales compared to 14.7% diesels; the rest of that pie goes to the various petrol/hybrid guises at 74.7%. I like BEVs, we have a Tesla model S since 2017, which fits my father's retired needs, they just aren't quite there yet for the majority, wish they were.
