  1. One of the cars I would seriously consider, albeit I think I warm more to the latest Z4 which of course is basically the same car. I just feel the Supra didn't quite translate from the early mug shots I had on my office calendar. However, given it's a Toyota, I would imagine the reliability will be better than the BMW. It'll be interesting to hear what you make of it.
  2. Ah, I now better understand the circumstances. Thanks for the update and as you say someone now has a chance to pick up a very rare car.
  3. Hello Brett As I recall you've not had the LC for any length of time and I sincerely hope the decision to sell was not based on the "thievability" of the car? It does seem as if navigating the car to the main road was the primary reason, is that correct?
  4. Well done Essex police! I suppose a new front bumper isn't the end of the world and before it's fitted, an ideal opportunity to safeguard against another canbus attack. Great shame this is happening, and really any manufacturer who leaves this access point vulnerable really ought to be sorting this out with some measure of urgency.
  5. Hmmm, I'm not overly surprised by the final test results, and particularly that the Bridgestone was way down the ranking.
  6. Antony, absolutely no need to apologise and I'm just glad to have if confirmed I haven't misinterpreted the purpose of the two systems.
  7. Colin, I'd be very interested in your feedback because I'm not a great fan of radar control, given its propensity to brake/accelerate and be influenced by traffic in close proximity. I had this feature on a hybrid Golf GTE that I was obliged to use for a shortwhile. Whilst the Lexus isn't quite as touchy as the Golf was, I'd rather live without radar and drive on proper cruise.
  8. Perhaps all fellow owners can now source from "morethanpolish" who now have the required template. 😃
  9. Constant speed control is exactly what I want but it seems that whilst it should be possible when selected there is nothing constant about it but simply radar control with a different name.
  10. Not quite I think. Please find attached the relevant section of the full user manual. Clearly, there should be a distinction between radar and cruise. As one would expect, radar slows the car down when appropriate, whereas cruise should not. Radar and cruisel.pdf
  11. I understand how the radar cruise control should work and indeed it performs entirely as expected but the so-called normal cruise control works in exactly the same way. Nothing differentiates the two methods. To further explain, when I engage radar cruise control the word "Radar" or some such comes up on screen but on cruise control I simply see the green speedo icon on the dash display. Normally on cruise control I would not expect any form of braking as I approach any car in front but that's exactly what does happen. It's as if cruise and radar are in reality one and the same thing.
  12. I, too, have exactly the same "problem". Whilst I have radar cruise control it seems "normal" cruise control behaves in exactly the same way, I really cannot tell the difference between the two alternatives.
  13. Falkens were often praised by members of the Z4 forum I used to frequent, and were highly regarded for their all round abilities. You'd think if they were good enough for a sports car, then they should be good enough for most other users and their requirements. Might be worth a look see?
  14. Same choice as me and or Goodyear. Last choice would positively be Bridgestone, and guess what mine came with.....!
  15. I think you'll find Lexus are prepared to price match so get your prices from whomever and use that to arrange supply/fitment.
  16. I've used "Blackcircles" a number of times and with no complaint. The following is for the back wheels, and obviously the fronts will be ever so slightly cheaper. Rear tyres click here Fitted prices seem to be circa £325 each for run flats and £250 to £300 for conventional, albeit there are some at £125 ish. Not sure I would go with those but presumably if Blackcircel are selling them they may well be more highly regarded than their price might imply. Your call. Hope this helps.
  17. Good call Andy and at that price more reasonable than I would have thought. Mind you I suspect the discs are a different matter...... Just found them on the same Lexus web site and £718 for the front including pads, £596 without.
  18. Ah, that's a shame. I did also look elsewhere and "Part Souq" can and sometimes do offer at a good price, but it would seem not so on this occasion unless they might be inclined/persuaded to offer a discount. Details as follows: Part Souq Will carry on looking because I feel sure I came across a would be supplier who offered genuine parts and for comparatively reasonable money. The hunt continues......
  19. Try this link: EBC They have a part number so presumably they have something to offer?
  20. No artfulness about this, but as was promised, threatened, suggested, taken outside Waitrose.
  21. Right, the challenge has been set, I'm off to Waitrose. Watch this space..........
  22. Arthur, well said! Matt chooses to, as a very learned friend of mine would say, "ignore the bleeding obvious"! I have to say his view/take on matters is, shall we say, bizarre.
  23. I always thought the launch editions were/are a bit special and this proves the point. Great buy, well done!
  24. Took this pic earlier today and as much as anything else to record the front garden as a back drop along with one reasonably well cleaned car!
  25. Where you said, "In general there are no decent garages around me", you were not kidding! I would have thought a half decent mechanic would have that diagnosed in no time at all! Let's face it, there are enough clues to put them on the right track.
