  1. Hi Philip She is good, isn't she! All makes so much more sense when've watched just a few of her vids.
  2. I don't know whether this might help or indeed whether anyone else has suggested it but I found an extremely useful resource in "Northside Lexus". Link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz01SYFxf4xhV8ok7FYaGyw Melissa provide dozens of very useful video tutorials and has certainly explained what on occasions was unfathomable to me. You'll also be mighty impressed by her obvious enthusiasm for the brand.
  3. You should see the rest of it, lusher still.😀 Must admit it does take some upkeep but always looks a picture at this time of year.
  4. Ah, but do you now feel better for your confession Len which, as they say, is good for the soul 😇 I think in practice I am doing my best to safeguard my laser cut alloys especially having seen my wife demolish 2 of hers in one fell swoop. Just for good measure on opposite sides of the car too!
  5. Took possession of this 17 plate genuine 4K mile 500H on Wednesday this week and was able to thoroughly spruce it up yesterday. Long tiring day but I hope the results speak for themselves. Sonic Titanium and rose leather if I've got my colours right. Very impressed by the whole package and will be stretching its legs later today. Still fathoming the infotainment system but nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe. Already a big fan of the HUD and radar/adaptive cruise control. I haven't got used to the reverse camera, despite having one on a previous Jaguar a couple of years ago. I think I am fixated on the tilting mirrors in reverse as my primary point of reference, so need to build confidence in the camera. Hope to put some serious miles on the car in the coming months, but before then it has to receive its fourth service (a major) come July. Bizarre given the engine oil is so clean it is barely visible on the dip stick! In practice, the car has only done something like 600 miles since its last visit to the dealership! Hardly makes any sense, but it will be comforting to introduce it to my local Crawley Lexus and hopefully experience the fabled service I should receive. All in all extremely taken with the car but now need to move on my previous cars to provide a bit more drive space!
  6. Curiously I prefer Sonic Red but just in recent days I bought a Sonic Titanium on the basis of an offer too good to refuse. If I'm honest, I think darker colours better suit the LC, but I also appreciate silvers once washed look cleaner for longer.
  7. Yep, it's a hard life! 😁
  8. Thanks Philip and the Jag is an XF. Will be sending it off to someone or another some when soon. Need to recoup a little cash whilst also moving the garage queen Z4 to another new home. Shame the LC won't go into the garage even though the previous house owner significantly extended it sideways. Shame he didn't increase the door opening size the same time! Still, my wife won't be shy about housing her Countryman Cooper in there! 😀
  9. Oh, ye of little faith 😀
  10. Curiously I called my would be dealer just yesterday dealer to clarify servicing matters and they too were very excited with the news. Must admit I wasn't so believing but it does seem true! Hopefully this will endorse my decision to move from Jaguar to Lexus. What a great day to take ownership of a "new to me" Lexus 500h!
  11. Good question given that I pick up mine tomorrow! Have to say one of my test drives was within a residential area with prolific and some very obvious speed humps. As per Malcolm above, I too didn't experience any problems, much to my relief. From what research I have made, it does seem as if the LC has particularly good ground clearance.
  12. For my two pennies worth I've used an app called "Radarbot". When the phone is bluetoothed and the app is configured to remain "on" it will interrupt your sound system and provide very clear warnings. For me this all happens seamlessly and it's not a case of remembering to turn the app on albeit I do sometimes turn it off to save battery. The only concern I do have is that I'm not so sure it is up to date given my current experiences on the M23 where it still advises average speed cameras that were removed months ago.
  13. Are we sure it is to do with tax? I ask because it could just as well be because it is parked with all four wheels on a pedestrian pathway, in itself illegal. I'd also say it is parked adjacent to zig zag lines normally before and after a pedestrian crossing therefore severely restricting an oncoming drivers view of the crossing and those about to access it.
  14. Precisely what I am doing now whilst getting familiar with the traits noted by current owners. Bought my last two cars with too little research and given I want a keeper I'm determined to research the LC far more thoroughly. Good news is there is practically no negativity that I've come across.
  15. Thanks AJ, Eddie and Lloyd, your views are much appreciated. I take on board your points regarding the V8 and my focus on the Hybrid is by nature of my driving pattern which nowadays tends to be very local. My motorway driving tends to be restricted to those occasions when my wife and I further explore the UK 2 or 3 times a year. This is precisely why I joined the forum to hear real owners views and again may I thank you for your input.
  16. Very interested to hear of your thoughts on the LC500H. I've just joined the forum in order to glean as much knowledge before I commit to the self same car. I'm really struggling to find anything negative about the 500 and this time I will be taking my time to choose the right model. Coming from Jaguar and BMW both of which serve me well but I fell in love with the 500 when it first came out. It's now at my price point and earmarked to occupy my drive. Would really appreciate any views good or bad to show me the way. BTW despite what my signature says I haven't yet bought a car but needed something to complete registration!
