  1. I must admit I was surprised b your latest post and especially so given how much deliberation you went through in your quest to buy an LC. I wonder, would you mind sharing with us the reason(s) why you sold the car and of course I'm sure many others would appreciate your summary of ownership. It would also be interesting to hear of the proposed or actual replacement, assuming that is already a consideration or even a done deal.
  2. If you are one of the lucky ones!
  3. I amazed that is still for sale as it has been on the market for some considerable time. I've often wondered about taking a drive over to take a peek given it's fairly near me. However, I do suspect it might be by appointment only and let's see your bank account first! Still no harm in feeling its presence and a nice drive to boot.
  4. Can I steal your identity, Paul?
  5. I suppose it's a bit like Oasis tickets with their "dynamic" pricing.
  6. Well let's not forget there is another LC500 Ultimate Edition currently advertised at...... wait for it.......... £225000. Mind you, as they say, one is born every day.
  7. The woman is an absolute nightmare and god help USA if by some quirk, think Starmer, she gets voted in. A babbling incoherent idiot would best describe her!
  8. Curiously, I was with Darwin on 2 off independently insured cars (including the LC) and prices more than doubled on the previous year. Obviously I moved on but my wife has also just received her renewal quote from Darwin which also doubled and she too has moved on. The point is, why are some insurers doubling their premiums when anybody with half an ounce of sense will tell them where to shove it. Darwin has now lost 3 policies and my view is as ever that insurance is run by spivs in suits, always been the case and even more so now.
  9. As Malcolm says above, below pic shows all. BTW, does the fourth button actually work? As for sourcing a new shell then look on Amazon and purely by way of an example then this one: After market fob
  10. Good grief, the rust was more serious than your pics might have suggested! 😗
  11. Interesting that Bilt also provide anti rust coating. I use their snow foam and Surfex all the time. I genuinely don't think there is a better product for whatever purpose. Now lodged in my brain and will be my go to when I look for rust.......
  12. Just remember the title of this thread, "Lexus announcement imminent", and when this thread was started, i.e. 26th June. Today's date, 11th August and some 3 months after Lexus said the fixes would be rolled out. I refer you to my earlier comment dated 10th August.
  13. I genuinely believe Lexus are doing nothing to address the matter and in reality you are out on your own. How on earth they can keep inferring a solution is in the pipeline is now way beyond belief, but if you are into beating a dead horse, you could always contact them on: cr@lexus.co.uk
  14. I seem to recall parking spaces were specified as that large enough to park a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost from way back when. Having seen the Ghost upfront, I could well believe this, nowhere near the size of modern cars.
  15. It does but you may find the settings not quite right for your situation. I'm thinking in terms of height adjustment in particular. I suppose position 3 as mentioned above could be regarded as a more customised easy in/out.
  16. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and I've had saloon cars that were harder to live with but one feature I use constantly is the memory seat positions. There are three settings and when I get out I use no 3 which I have programmed to retreat as far as possible and this definitely helps given the width of the doors and how far you need to open them to exit. Once back in the car then I press seat position 2 programmed to put me into a relaxed driving mode and when the time is right position 1 to get me closer to the wheel. Obviously as well as the seat location you can adjust for height and rake and if I were you I would try (before you buy) the various settings and reserve one of the memory choices for making your exit/entrance as easy as is possible. Given that the car is a GT rather than an out-and-out sports car this is in no small part reflected in the seats. BTW, I'm fortunate my wife will not drive the car, so all 3 seat positions are for my sole use!
  17. There is the nub of your planning problem, successive governments have messed around with long term plans for their short term gain and you have always been the loser, not them. This is not satisfactory and with the October budget threatening to bring about yet more changes I'm left wondering do I trash my careful plans now while I still can or risk suffering a similar Gordon Brown money grab. One thing I have learnt over the years, and I suspect if people would but know it, we have always done far worse under a Labour government than a Conservative.
  18. Couldn't agree more, Malcolm, but the silence from Lexus is deafening. Meanwhile, the crims continue to have a field day and I, for one, wouldn't be in any hurry to buy another Lexus given their lackadaisical approach to this matter and their jam tomorrow platitudes. In all honesty they are no worse than so many other brands, but they are not what I bought into, or at least so I thought.
  19. Couldn't agree more, but boy oh boy, look at the multitude of out-and-out idiots that are now part of this new government. I'm not going to name names but the list would likely run into 25% of Labour MP's. I fear, in the words of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, you ain't seen nothing yet......
  20. I took mine in for a service on the 12th July and asked what is the latest situation. Frankly an uninspiring answer and that I would be contacted by post when or if anything is made available. As I have said elsewhere, Lexus have offered tea and sympathy but nothing else. Indeed, even their own "statement" offers no further information, and my latest request via that page was not even published. Basically, don't hold your breath.
  21. You can use a jack on the seam welds of the sills, there are arrows that point to the correct placement. As for the other jacking points then you can definitely use the centre of the diff paying attention you place where it should be obvious. As for the engine jack point, then I believe there is indeed one but I've never been inclined to crawl under to find it. Most likely somewhere near the engine/bell housing.
  22. No Tom, you order the clip at £16.99, click here: CLIP Then you order the holder which in turn mounts to the clip, hey presto job done.
  23. I must admit the Brodit site might suggest a suitable holder is not available but in reality there is one for just about every phone including your Hawawei. To locate, then click on the "Brodit" link above then select "choose your device" on the left and just a little way down whereupon a second drop-down box will appear titled "Choose model", then select your phone model. See the below pic for guidance.
  24. I've been looking around for a suitable holder and that one looks very good. If it is of any interest, I was also considering this one: Brodit clip You'd also need a phone specific bracket, as can be found here: Samsung or here Iphone
