A replacement key and a guarantee that the new key would work. They are happy to refund if they cant get it to work

I lost one of my keys so took it to my local locksmith who specialises in car replacement keys - and only charges £200 compared with £400 plus from dealer. They attached their computer to the car and followed the instructions but could not get past recognising that two keys (i.e. lost key and sec ond key) were recognised by the system. The next stage was to place the new key to the ignition and that would programme the new key. But they couldn't get that far. Anybody had this problem?

My garage slightly improved on this by using rubber tubing instead of tape - a previous owner had used tape and this had worn away. So good but a bit eerie to have a car with no rattles!!

The car is really quiet when the hood is down but there is a rattle - I think on the drivers side from somewhere in the hood mechanism on bumpy roads. Fine when on smooth roads like the Motorway. Local garage couldn't pinpoint it - said they would have to remove back seats etc - big job. Anybody had and fixed this?

Just purchased a Wind deflector for my newly purchased 2010 IS250C from justroadster.com. They seem to be the agents for https://www.cabriosupply.co.uk/lexus-is-250c-350c-wind-deflector-2006-2013. Good price, fitted very easily (you just need to drill holes in the two plugs) and stops all wind noise - even at an illegal 100mph! Throughly recommend.

My 2010 car didn't come with a spare run flat wheel. Is it worth buying one? It has done 44k miles. 

Thanks Steve. Dids you buy a Lexus Wind deflector or an after market one? Funnily enough my Lexus seemed to have been in Wales once - it was serviced by Lexus Cardiff in 2013. I will go out and buy some rubber door stops!

After an Alfa Spider, Mini convertible and various other cars just bought myself a 2010 IS 250C with 44K on the clock. (Pictures to follow - Gunmetal Grey) Wonderful car but have some questions

There was a dreadful rattle from the hood when the roof was up. Garage reckoned it was the "parcel shelf" - and they half fixed it and I fiddled around in the boot which seems to have fixed it. Anybody any experience of this. Also there seemed to be a rattle from the front door. 

It didn't come with a spare tyre - is it worth getting a run flat one - any idea of cost.

It's quite cold at the moment and I was thinking of a Wind Deflector - anybody had any experience of one?

Its my first Lexus - and we have just moved to Dorset - so no experience here. 

Just about to buy a 2010 C with 40k on the clock. I live near Dorchester and wonder if anybody has experience of good garages around here?
