You'll be doing a Max Bygraves next Len 😊😉

Ah! You must represent the younger contingent on here 😂. I recall the most fantastic of brands available at one time. Passing Clouds, Sweet Afton, Sullivan Powell straight cut Virginia hand-rolled in rice paper, Balkan Sobranie, Frieborg and Treyer. And Pall Mall plain in the crush packet, with the motto "Wherever particular people congregate" sounds like the LOC😎

No 10! They were a fine cigarette 😎

Clearly a nark. Understanding this would serve him well in future. 👍

At least you have a choice. Right now we have none. 🙁
-
I have nothing against him personally,😱🙂. But his "style" or lack thereof is entirely due to him being incapable/unwilling to talk at all without notes or a teleprompter which is why he sounds like the speaking clock. Compare that to Nigel Farage. 🙂. Who might you prefer on the International stage?

Don't know where you get them from kev but they are marvellous! 😅

Productivity is falling all around in the West. Economies are in free fall. The Icarus of Net Zero will mean everyone will have the chance to WFH at this rate!

Me too, tea & ginger nuts 😜

I see Costco have £100 off 4 Goodyear tyres 👍

Two things Phil, firstly Turpin wore a mask secondly he eventually got his comeuppance. Incidentally in Bham, there is a Gt Hampton Street maybe that might fit! 😂

I think Rishi Sunak not keeping to the triple lock promise and reducing the award by 5% far more egregious. How quickly we forget 🙁

As if you need reminding Malc 🙂 King Henry V: What’s he that wishes so? My cousin Westmoreland? No, my fair cousin: If we are mark’d to die, we are enow To do our country loss; and if to live, The fewer men, the greater share of honour. God’s will! I pray thee, wish not one man more. By Jove, I am not covetous for gold, Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost; It yearns me not if men my garments wear; Such outward things dwell not in my desires: But if it be a sin to covet honour, I am the most offending soul alive. No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England: God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour As one man more, methinks, would share from me For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more! Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host, That he which hath no stomach to this fight, Let him depart; his passport shall be made And crowns for convoy put into his purse: We would not die in that man’s company That fears his fellowship to die with us. This day is called the feast of Crispian: He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’ Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars. And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’ Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he’ll remember with advantages What feats he did that day: then shall our names. Familiar in his mouth as household words Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remember’d; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day. From Henry V, Act IV, Scene III

The good, the bad, the ugly

I agree there's no perfect car as indeed there's no perfect reviewer. After all it's only a car not a successor to St Paul's Cathedral. As to the opinions of TV personalities they are just that an opinion, and optional. But if the advocacy is to deny the legitimacy of their views then the attack ultimately is on the millions of avid followers who enjoy their contributions. Are their opinions equally invalid? It's an interesting one! -

Speaking of books, Thomas Sowell in his ;Intellectuals and Society, writes about intellectuals and why they think they are the annointed ones, for example, Verbal virtuosity (rhetoric) versus evidence or logicedit Sowell suggests that intellectuals rely heavily on what he calls "verbal virtuosity" (clever phrasing, vague euphemisms, witty quotes, deceptive labeling, name-calling and sneering asides) to substitute for evidence, logic and analysis. Other tactics of "verbal virtuosity" include dismissing opposing ideas as simplistic, portraying those making opposing arguments as morally unworthy, invoking "rights" which have no legal basis, vague calls for "change", reliance on the abstract versus the concrete, and a constant "filtering of reality". His book Economic Facts and Fallacies is also helpful in filling out those holes in our understanding of how economies really work. As to Ayn Rand well the Uber founder finds her inspirational as does billionaire Peter Thiel oh and Alan Greenspan amongst others. Selling 37 million books worldwide no doubt helped in her leaving eight hundred thousand dollars her will. And yes, when dying of lung cancer she did sign on for state medical assistance. Whilst this looks contrary to her long held position on the State she did see it as taking back some of the money illegally plundered off her by the State in taxes.

But apart from that Mrs Lincoln did you enjoy the play? 😎 -
I've come from an afternoon in the pub 🍷and I've had a thought (pay attention at the back). Locally we are being overwhelmed by applications for solar panel farms on best agricultural land. Match that with withdrawal of the WFA. Where's the connection you may ask? Well if pensioners have their demise brought forward then they will have no further use of vegetables which of course they, alone, know how to cook, ergo no use of farmland so why not solar PV which can be used to power the microwaves for ready meals from the supermarkets? Which of course are acronyms for chemistry sets hence the reduction in human longevity. Welcome Aldous Huxley v2

To be even more specific it's called the Winter Fuel Payment and it's payable in 25 countries other than the UK if you are being means tested in that country. No room for fiddling there then 😎
-
😂😂😂, there's no let up to this is there? Can you imagine what Spitting Image would have made of it? Oddly enough Aldi beans been have voted first place with Heinz coming 5th 😎
-
Perhaps the ECHR can facilitate this? Since there now exists a clear threat to life for a marginalised community by staying here this may be a viable option funded by UK plc. At a cost of say £30k a head HMG would break even in about 10 years. Far more cost effective than a wind turbine. You are definitely on to something here. 👍

She clearly demonstrates sound judgement which is far more than can be said of most in government. They do say genetically intelligence skips a generation, she must have strong grandparents? 😅

I think we are on the cusp of a brand new topic - Foodie Heaven maybe? Lexus owners are by default a very discerning group of people harbouring secret sources of the best of British produce. As a caring community I am sure sharing the knowledge if not the produce would be your charitable deed of the day 😎🍻
