  1. OK, VW Beetle, Fiat 124, Toyota Corolla? And you will note my RX is tall and not elongated, this clearly shows my wish to be 6 foot 3 and not 5 foot 8🤭
  2. Ah! There speaks the voice of a Trophy owning wife. 🐰 As a woman once said "to attract men I wear a perfume called New Car Interior." And the beautiful looking Lada must have been easy to sell cause they sold 20 million, 😂 But I agree car looks are imperative for some men who relate them to their lower appendage🤥
  3. It may just be me but I can't see the outside when I am inside driving so for all practical purposes what difference does it make exept maybe other people's verbal opinions which aren't worth the paper they are written on, as Mr Goldwyn famously opined. ?
  4. Is that your back being 70 degrees to the horizontal when getting out, I know I am with my XKR 😂
  5. Good point about overseas purchases completely forgot its been that long 😱
  6. You do question malc as to if the £13 a month is paying its way? I now am covered via Lexus for breakdown, phone cover, neither here nor there but the biggy is travel insurance. I have an age extension and at 95 £ a year seems a good deal maybe?
  7. Look carefully at this Den, to my knowledge dealers will offer no discount on Essential service plans but if you have a LOC gold card some dealers will offer you the "full fat" service plan including Mot's with 20% off. So this works out to be approximately similar. In addition I used a 0% credit card which gives me additional Section 75 assurances. The other big advantages I feel over independents is that the plan is transferable should the need arise and the use of genuine parts. I have some experience of using non genuine parts in my XKR and you end up paying twice!
  8. So that's the weekend sorted now what about "afters"? 😋😋😋
  9. I agree entirely, life is more than a P&L account and you have above outlined an admirably positive balance sheet, and I love the Rioja entry🥳
  10. As a slight aside from the main topic does anyone have experience with Glasweld? I have wiper scratches on my screen and was looking for ways to cosmetically improve looks. Thanks
  11. It's a bloke john😱 Your Spanish voyage sounded fantastic 😎 at least you were in a hybrid which hopefully helped with the traffic, did you ever compute the economics of the end to end journey?
  12. Well I feel sorry for people who don't drink because when they get up in the morning that's the best they're going to feel all day "Jackie Gleason" 🍺🍺🍺
  13. I know it's stating the obvious but LOC gold members get up to 20% off labour and parts from some dealers, well worth the investment, I saved hundreds recently so make a few phone calls Tom👍
  14. I agree John, Numpsies? Predictive text is such a pain 😉 but I think the writer also meant to say remainers were suffering from narcolepsies defined as: a disorder characterised but sudden and uncontrollable attacks of deep sleep, sometimes accompanied by paralysis of thought and hallucinations 🍺
  15. Perfect "full fat" explanation of my Cola lite one 😎
  16. These are in fact Phil, arrowheads from the fairy folk who live in the fens 😂
  17. C'mon Richard! How quickly you forget the feeling of in your teens after having a heavy session on cider beer or drambuie shandies🍺🍺🍺
  18. Thank-you Herbs for that tour-de-force on how my car functions, and I now know more than I did previously but please don't tell me there is an examination at the end🙏 I am learning as I go along and one thing I have noticed is some people think all forms of EV are a: the same and b: an anxiety inducing form of transport. I was merely trying to point out to the other chap that unlike all EV cars ours will /does function independently. Thanks again
  19. Needs one that size to have the maximum number of beds under which to keep all his money as he clearly distrusts those nasty banks. 🤑😂🤑😂🤑😂
  20. They do say that at Uni if you were not a lefty, socialist leaning, I want to change the world Trotsky there was something wrong with you, but alongside responsibilities in your 30's (wife, kids Lexus etc) suddenly the concept of capitalism seems a jolly good idea 🤑
  21. Bernard the correct spelling is ladder. It's a device for getting somewhere unaided! You can use it to give people a hand up not hand out, as the saying goes.
  22. Ever since Ralph Nader in the 1970's coined the term "planned obsolescence" some people have eloquently argued that, it's simply not true! Perhaps they should spend more time with ordinary people with everyday products 🤔
