    Well presented argument Len. Owning an older car is one of choice, usually driven by financial constraints. I doubt many owners would turn down a swap of their vehicle for a new one, unless it's maybe a series 1 jaguar e-type. So in essence you can't afford a brand new one. That being the case by what logic should a second-hand car be afforded the same privileges as a new one? I see this as yet another example of the current vogue for "fairness & equality" whatever that may mean!

    To get back on topic chaps I listen these days to talk radio and they have just run an advert by Lexus for lexus Relax! And, promoting it as a manufacturers warranty which I guess, technically speaking it is but could be seen as a little disingenuous?

    Paul, the worst thing about sitting on a fence too long is rail marks on your arris 😎. But there are some other options. Consider a Nationwide flex account for £13 a month you get, breakdown cover, travel insurance and phone cover. Next find a dealer as I did who will give you 20% service plan discount. Use the savings to fund parts if /when needed or a 3rd party warranty offering. For example I recently bought gas struts from SGS Derby for a fraction of Lexus price and fitted them in 5 mins.

    Apart from, the history, fundamental to Western Civilisation, the contribution to the richness of the English language, the hospitality of the Greek people, spectacular islands that rival the Caribbean , an attitude to life that underpins longevity, great food, wine and music I can't think of a single reason why one would go 😎

    Well I have just returned from Somerset on the straight and narrowish M5, horrible journey 🤕. But I stayed in an exemplary enclave in Bridgwater and travelled back in something similar (my RX). And now, my local beckons where a few pints of Pedigree will see me sound in the arms of Morpheus whether I have a soul let alone a conscience 😇

    Agree with you entirely John, but didn't realise no discount for LOC Gold Card members? Here am I extolling virtues of same to find out no longer true or is it 🤔

    Ditto John. Also Casa, an Mot can be had for £40, do you know anyone who pays the AA £200? It's one of the most highly discounted services available. Regarding lexus service costs I urge you to get a LOC gold card, then find a centre who will give you upto 20% which will save you a stack.

    Yes Graham, but in your defence the extended warranty/Relax does not offer the same cover as the initial 3 years. I suspect some people will interpret as being the same

    Why 4.9% Apr? Scandalous rate considering base rate is practically 0 assuming your credit score to be good lots of places offering low cost finance. Also with new NX being announced next week who knows effect on used cars prices? If its design is significantly different maybe a lot.
