I refer the Honorable gentleman to the answer I gave a few moments ago 😎
-
Good man, glad you accept it comes with the territory 🤠

Presumably then David you have signed up to Vision Zero? Because if that's an example of your Town Hall meeting decision making rationale it's really hard to find a way forward for Cornwall. You live in one of the most economically deprived regions in Northern Europe hugely depending upon two golden geese State funding and tourism. Yet with the latter as with London you seem determined to make extinct this particular goose. It seems you like the tourist money but not the nuisance of them actually being there? Try suggesting virtual holidays in say St Ives, to your Town Hall and I absolutely guarantee someone will support you.

Totally agree Steve 😎 Interesting how we have morphed into a country of commenting on people who don't adhere to the rules, no matter how non-sensical they are. Do you think that there will be a time when we, the people, say enough already? And how sly and surreptitiously these "rules" have slid in without hardly a murmur? To give you, the ordinary bloke/woman a flavour the UK tax code stands at 17,000 pages long😱 what chance do you have?

I agree Paul, that other reason was money 💰💰💰

Well Betamax was a technically far superior model to VHS. It was only when the rental companies were seduced by the VHS manufacturers that Sonys system was doomed. But that was a binary choice thats not quite analogous here. Your later statement is spot-on and I agree completely 👍

I believe journey times in London then were shorter than today? 🤠

The sense of frustration is from the contradiction of circumstances not volume of traffic. Where we have a legal right to drive at a certain limit we can't due to, never completing roadworks, traffic calming measures, surveillance cameras, cycle lanes cyclists etc. Where we can there is a constant cacophony of noise about parking, pollution, and now speed where does it all end? Well obviously when all cars are banned from towns in favour of bikes and tuktuks making them indistinguishable from every other south Asian town.

Read an interesting article today stating over one third of Councils already had 20 mph speed limits and there is a aggressive campaign to make them country wide and if that wasn't bad enough some Mways are going down to 60 to lower nitrous oxide emissions 😱 Don't know about you but I find 30/70 mph hard enough most days. Maybe it's time to use an old tractor 😎

Picked up an RCF

I know this will be controversial Kieran but do you think its possible to change the prefix from F to something else? I keep reading your comment and can't get out of my head it should have read " Another F****** car comes to Hampshire 🤣. Are you a closet member of Extinction Rebellion, we have a right to know 🤗🤗🤗 -

This is an interesting conversational trail to follow! From a personal perspective I view all taxation as theft 😕. And it is your duty to yourself and family to minimise the impact by managing all legal avenues ie avoidance. If you do not concur ask yourself how many people you know have given up their 12.5k tax free allowance or ISA's or Premium Bonds? Before you adopt a particular stance - reap as you sew 🤔 I presume you mean being stitched up with a PCP deal? This method of financing is a huge time bomb waiting to explode with unknown consequences for not only the car industry but the economy as a whole. Look up the numbers they are truly astonishing. UK taxation right now is hovering around 60%, how much more is "fair" do you think when other sections of the community contribute next to nothing? If you can add value to what little is left of your discretionary spend I say do it 👍 -
Malc, you must be in your dotage and confusing Relax with Relapse 😊 you are maybe lapsing again into a time when you had a carefree new car warranty, Mars bars were a tanner and policemen didn't look 12 years old 😎, And if you're ordering rolls may I please have a ham & cheese on brown with a gherkin and Meaux mustard Ta😛

Ah yes, Denning, I do recall giving him security clearance you know 😎 (apologies to Flanders & Swann)

Always admire your resilience John 😊

In HJ today; What do we think of this answer?

As Del Boy might say "what a plonker" 🤣 -
How many years have you been a member? Speaking of "members" suggest that you measure endorphins after the trail of some of these comments 🤠
-
Well John you strike a rather wistful note reminding me of Kiplings "IF" and not the cakes 🎂 But also of Lou Holtz 'You're never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you're never as bad as they say you are when you lose" 🤩 I am still in Jersey and about to adjourn to the Lamplighter in St Helier to renew my acquaintance with a long standing friend - beer 😛, have a good day.
-
John, you are displaying your hang 'em and flog' em side I never knew existed. 😎. I have never followed football always preferring RFU in the winter, cricket in the summer and listening and reading about last night's debacle confirms my choice 🤠 But if I understand it correctly at the conclusion of 90+30 minutes England had not lost? So no matter how high you laud the Italian strategy, play, tactics whatever it simply wasn't enough to overwhelm England was it? And England could not have been that bad albeit we finished as first alternate as the Americans would say.

A couple of other points I should have mentioned are firstly, because it's so quiet you can easily neurotic about each little squeak and noise, if you are so minded do not under any circumstances put a dog crate in the back if you do turn up the radio volume 😀. Secondly, again related to the lack of noise, cruise control is crucial in keeping your licence endorsement free (or freer). Some kind person on here recommended Radarbot which I have and find its auto connect feature really useful. Oh, and I should have pointed out Bill and Ben the flower pot men were marionettes in an early childhood TV programme and not a reference to the old bill or big Ben. 😉

I think Len's compass is adrift here. MD is entirely an allegorical tome which I also used to express the task in hand and an interpretation of self-confidence. As to the whale being a mammal well everyone knows if it swims in the ocean it's a big fish really 🧑🍳but if you've ever eaten it you also know the best way to eat it is to add tartare sauce liberally then throw it away and get yourself a decent piece of Dover Sole . Which I did earlier on yesterday the seafront in St.Helier, marvellous 😎

And still it interjects a 5s substitution not 4!
-
Interesting? I distinctly typed, Moby Dicks *****?
-
Almost John, it should have read, Moby Dicks *****. 🤠
-
Bravo Sergio, you take notice of the English Press but not the Italian ones as you clearly believe them to be untrue. Now take the next step of understanding the true nature of that self-confidence in Zig Ziglars very eloquently described quote : Self-confidence is like going after Moby ***** in a rowing boat and taking the tartar sauce with you 🤣
