  1. Not at all Dave, get yourself a copy of the Joy of Painting and you will feel a whole lot different 😂
  2. Actually Dave, weather isn't getting more unreliable as people imagine as a consequence of fake news and pseudo science. Look up the GWPF for more reliable data
  3. 😊 Brushes - Paint - Corner? As in painting yourself into a corner which I believe you have just done 🎨🎨🎨🤗
  4. Is that for when you find the right corner David? 🤣
  5. At least you are showing resistance John to the pingdemic, lock down mask wearing madness 🎭
  6. You need to look at the new NX interior design to see how RX may transition in the very near future which may affect second user values unless of course you can stump up 50k for a new one? Either way should you wish for an environment that cocoons you from the nasty old world out there the RX is the only way to go
  7. Well if he's Scandavian I'm a China man 🤣
  8. Isn't it interesting Linas how Volvo are pursuing these philanthropic values centred on empathy with people, the environment and well being of the world in general. All very laudable aims until you find out they are owned by a country opening a coal-fired power station a week, control their people with social credits, and eshew democratic principles 😱
  9. Yes Bernard and look what it states ; As long as there are accidents Volvo is committed to always strive towards zero accidents through high quality and innovative products that reduce the frequency of accidents and their consequences. Zero Accidents Is Our Vision - What utter Corporate balderdash 🤯, so Volvo accept there will be accidents, ie a non predictable non foreseeable event or series of events yet they will be striving to do something about the unknown. With such magnificent insights can they share with me this week's Lotto numbers?
  10. Great Post Dave thanks 👍
  11. Unless Berkshire is a pseudonym for Monaco 🤣
  12. Do you now see how pervasive this thing Kieran 😱 I guarantee its rolling around in your head like some old ABBA song 🤗🤗🤗
  13. Do hope you can Phil, it's a wonderful place, a delight for us older folk and families but I also agree it can be reassuringly expensive if you aren't selective enough about accommodation/nights out etc. Flights are affordable and very quick, 45 mins, duty free is back😜 and beaches as good as anywhere 👍
  14. Oddly enough Phil we were using a great bus service in Jersey last week highly recommended although my bus pass didn't count 😕. Locally where I live they are like hen's teeth and enjoying an active modern lifestyle would be impossible without independent transport
  15. If you substitute the word cyclist for car/tractor /van we wouldn't comment on it because it happens all the time therefore we accept it as our basic defensive driving assumption is that ALL other drivers are idiots. Although it does give us a chance to practise our Anglo-Saxon expletive heritage. However cyclists do engender a different range of emotions and frustrations. My single biggest gripe on my local rural roads is why do they think it acceptable to impede my progress? Tractors pull over why not cyclists when they have a queue behind them? Can you imagine the outcry from the lycra community if they were constantly behind say a steam engine doing 3mph.🤠🤠🤠
  16. Ditto, but if by then you aren't driving, near a good bus service and totally beholding to the State financially speaking I should imagine it will be a pleasure to retire there. 😎
  17. Just back from Jersey by air, 45mins 🤗. But I am thinking of taking my car and dog next time. I see Condor has a 4.50 hr crossing have you used it? Would you recommend? Thanks Phil
  18. And they are right Nick and as I understand radar detectors are illegal? But the driving environment sounds idyllic 🚘😎
  19. Fantastic post Phil 👍👍👍unfortunately you and I are one of those dreaded impediments to an Alice in Wonderland illusion of progress by the very people you speak of. Each day that goes by thousands of pages of new rules and regs get slid onto the books with 99.9 % of people it potentially covers totally oblivious to the possible consequences. They undoubtedly start life as a "good idea" supported by dubious statistics and well-intentioned people before they gain a life of their own. Witness the headlong rush to pave over deserted town centres and increase parking charges so driving away the very people who coincidentally have the highest levels of discretionary spend. Or in Cornwall and Devon where various public sector bodies have signed up to Vision Zero which is to have zero, nil, none, road fatalities and serious accidents by 2040 0️⃣. Just think for one moment about the real-world practicalities of such an ambition without the state having total control over your mobility freedom - EV's anyone?
  20. It's Wednesday every one should be allowed at least one a week 🤣 and you forgot to mention drivers on country roads who believe the centre of the road extends to the opposite kerb 😱
  21. Forgot to say also glad you don't blame the Govt, farmers the man from the Pru 🤗 and demand they grub up the hedges. In our village some years ago "townie" incomers complained about lack of footpaths and street lighting and noisy sheep and cows, 🤣
  22. Let me apologise should you feel David, that other people's views are impacting you in an emotionally negative way, I feel for you. As a matter of interest do you concur with the pragmatic viability of Vision Zero?
