  1. Welcome to the forum Craig, you will find other big differences from this and BMW. First and foremost todger envy is non-existent, I think it's fair to say we don't do envy but we do do admiration when someone chips in with a LC500. 😎. The other biggy is people let you out at junctions 🤣
  2. Yes
  3. Try cars for sale on this site? 2004 300
  4. At least it was warm 😁. And of course the name wasn't a reference to you, the customer, it was for the business owner who was happy to find an eater who would pay so much for so little in return 🤣🤣🤣
  5. Well Renato, I have been exposed to so called Continental breakfasts where the texture was indicernable from the packet cornflakes come in🤣
  6. You chaps must be a picture of anticipation 😎. I shall be in Greece soon (not by car but it's a thought one day) and it feels great to be able to see old friends again and return to some semblance of normality. Although with taxation rises on the horizon maybe it'll be halves not pints 😒
  7. Comments like this are what makes this club so valuable.
  8. It's breakfast time here in the UK do you think your next missive can be deferred until the afternoon? 😂
  9. Terribly sorry Eric but what is LSD? In my world its old money or LysergicAcidDieyhlamide? If it's the latter then you are clearly on drugs in which case consider seeking medical attention way before being in charge of an XKR 🤣
  10. Welcome to the club Zed. I too have an XKR and RX450H, so very different driving experiences! In the future I predict they will have the XKR at Alton Towers when they are no longer to be found on the road😒. There, you will pay £50 for 10 minutes to know what real driving used to be like! I do find the RX modifies my driving behaviour as does listening to Mozart. But in the Jag and Janis Joplin, well that's a quite different story 😎.
  11. Brian, it's time you explained to your son that from here on in you are spending his inheritance 🤑 that should calm down his enthusiasm for spending even more😎 and that happiness comes from appreciating what you have and not on the hamster wheel of wanting what you don't have 😉
  12. Can anyone out there recommend a good seat cover? Purpose is two-fold, firstly lessen drivers side wear and tear, secondly, a passenger side one for the odd times I put my mini schnauzer there instead of the boot crate. Thanks
  13. A quick look at the Lexus site shows you the "full fat" service (not warranty) costs and not Essential which you had previously so you aren’t comparing like with like. If your quote shows 97k then the dealer may be helping you out to get a sub 100k plan which would include warranty via the Relax scheme. Clarify with dealer this indeed would be the case! This then leaves the question of your 2022 warranty, does it have a full year to run? In which case you may be able to get a refund to set against your new costs. This will of course mean a Relax Warranty for 2022 and not a more fully featured standard one.
  14. I agree Brian, my 9-5 was a fantastic car to drive, supremely comfortable, totally reliable, monstrous depreciation 😱. One aspect of a higher seat position that often gets overlooked is on-coming lights. Now it's dark morning /nights when I drive my XKR on-coming lights are blinding because of seat height. But with my RX it's not so much of a problem especially with my Hoya En-route specs 👍
  15. You pose a big Big question John. On the RRP of your lexus nothing but on the price of a therm of gas /electricity it's a stack. Same with car fuel, if you're on minimum wage of £9 an hour it sounds like an awful lot to me. 😢
  16. For the avoidance of doubt it was my understanding that non intelligible accents were now in the majority in London and the environs 😅
  17. Yet again another indicator of the transfer of wealth from the poorest to the richest, West to the East. The saddest part is the effect not on the bottom quartile, for those the state is more than generous, but its the next two who studiously go to work every day, pay taxes at the level of usuary, and don't have a voice - who speaks for them? Today I was told one of the reasons for HGV drivers is HS2. Apparently HS2 digger and forklift drivers with zero responsibility, and sociable hours get paid £20+ an hour, why would you wish to drive a lorry? And all Public money!!! Just like this insane drive towards "greener idiology" and the unintended consequences for which no one will ever be accountable.
  18. No Brian, its the Lexus Owners Club of which you are a member for free but a paid subscription, gold member, gets you the Halfords card amongst other benefits. For example, only yesterday I bought Turtle Wax ceramic wet application polish. In the shop it's £18 but I asked for online price match and then 15% card discount so I ended up paying £11 odd.
  19. Presumably Keith you aren’t given the stick?
  20. I am sure you will enjoy very much your new acquisition - I would also recommend a LOC gold card, I have found it incredibly useful for cost saving when I negotiated service Plans and for stuff from the likes of Halfords.
  21. Yes, Stoke were very competitive when it came to service plan deals. Although I use Derby as it is much closer to me and they have been great. 👍
  22. Go back and read age and wisdom again 📖
  23. Actually there is pharmaceutical chalk and also an affliction known as Pica where some people get addicted to eating amongst other things chalk 😱. As to knowledge and for John's sole delectation my favourite Greek saying is - the frog trapped in the well does not know the size of the ocean 🐸
  24. Don't be such a Philistine! Well John you didn't appreciate one Greek proverb perhaps a different one then - Grey hair brings age but not always wisdom. 😅
