  1. Today, I wish to moan about Steve, originator of this rich vein of vitriol. After more than 500 responses it can only be described as making a very successful contribution to the overall enjoyment of members of the LOC. And that is the very essence of my complaint, he's been too successful which is the very antithesis of moaning. 😎
  2. Fascinating John, who cannot but applaud "the pursuit of excellence"? Where did those aspirations go, into the swamp of mediocrity? As to those operatic titans, including Callas, imagine what they would sound like with today's modern recording technology?
  3. Try HJ Hall, Hinckley, Leicestershire made quality durable socks
  4. Have you thought of wearing them with shoes Ed?
  5. You make a good point Bill, not only selling a similar product profile but undoubtedly from the same supplier so price becomes the only notable point of differentiation. Consolidation being the only eventual outcome.
  6. Not surprising Bill, both The Range and B&m have shown astonishing growth with very little under a quid, couple that with huge increases in shipping costs from China don't suppose they had anyplace else to go. Although the dollar store in the USA is now 1.25 I believe
  7. What were the volume numbers compared to 2020 I wonder?
  8. Steady on Renato 🤔 need to keep something back for next month 🤣
  9. Is this your new year resolution Len, looking for mushrooms? 😎 Oops, thought it said morels😅
  10. Quite simple Malc, £30 a month is broadly speaking £45 pm/540 pa or say 5k before tax after 10 years. So in your case £14000 for your car in incremental tax. I don't consider that to be insignificant unless of course you get free money from the Nat West Bank? Just another additional tax based on pandering to the lowest common denominator
  11. Today I shall be moaning about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING 😎. But tomorrow? Well that's another day 😁. Until then hope you all have a memorable Christmas day, be with nice people (in thought if you can't be) and think nice things. Yesterday was my granddaughters birthday, in her card I printed, work hard, play hard eat lots of cake. A motto for birthdays and for life. 🎂
  12. That's not doom and gloom, it's just the joy of living 😊. Like the Swan whatever makes you think you can glide along on the surface of life serenly without paddling like crazy underneath?
  13. Very prescient as usual John. What does the Tarot cards say for 2022 👀
  14. And before Coca-Cola there was Charles Dickens who did more to form the idea of celebrating Christmas than anyone else 🤔
  15. Erm, my comment was directed towards the word Christams, not a word that I am familiar with, perhaps you are? 😎
  16. A nice sentiment Danny, but just what is Christams exactly. Some kind of Christian fundamentalist offshoot 🤣?
  17. Morning Vlad, fascinating how some people join this forum with the mindset of "what can you do for me"? Rather than "what can I do for you?
  18. Are you in reality that YouTube chap who does Rate My Takeaway? 🤣
  19. Brussel Sprouts are bad for your health, Scientists have shown that everyone who ever ate a Sprout between the years 1762 and 1815 are now dead . You have been warned — Ade Bozzay
  20. Yet I and others thought it an obit 😅
  21. Having a similar background I can fully understand your position Bill, no doubt you will eventually arrive at the conclusion that suits you. The YouTube vid I referred to in an earlier post "Should I buy a Lexus" gives a good summary of why Lexus, one I can fully agree with. Not as pioneering as British Standard Whitworth but darn close 😎
  22. One of the great joys of belonging to the EU 😎
  23. There is a long long queue ahead of you for that particular accolade 😉
