  1. And 15% With your LOC card?
  2. The Trolls Road is probably Norways most famous road for it's engineering, views, hairpins, snow, rockfalls 😱😎, should keep you occupied for a while. Maybe not this time but Trondheim is about 4/5 hours from there. Beautiful beautiful place, fabulous food, you could live there if it wasn't so ruddy cold most of the year 😅
  3. Having worked for Telenor for almost ten years I know the roads pretty well. I can further assure you that the only way to truly appreciate the scenery and get admiring glances is in my Jaguar XKR. Twenty years old and purrs like the big cat she is, oh forgot to mention, appreciating in value which offsets fuel costs. 😎.
  4. As I mentioned in an post earlier the subscription model is evident in all sorts of ways. Mobility have been on it for years. Perfect for "driving" a two tier system, those in work, with the latest model and being a hamster on the wheel, and those not in work. Interesting how over time hire purchase became socially acceptable followed by leasing followed by PCP followed by continuous subscription.
  5. Well I couldn't find the origin of lurrr, but I did for lurry which I quote "A confused heap; a throng or jumble," are you part of that throng Malc as I only recall Lurpack in the singular not plural 😎
  6. That's a pretty tenuous thread James. 😊, connecting youthful adulation and swooning with the price of fuel, Lurpack or fish 🐟⛽😱
  7. Typically they started out at 250, then 500 then 1kg. 750 was introduced to make a big tub look more of a bargain - so yes.
  8. What's that got to do with the price of fish? 🤔🤣
  9. An interesting coincidence Steve - 1 litre of petrol weighs approx 750 grams and costs £2 which we all think is scandalous 🤯. Yet the £7.30 lurpak is in fact for a 750 gram tub 🤔, so my question is are the owners of lurpak taking petrol as a guide to what they get away with 😎
  10. Hey! You at the back, wake up or a black board duster is coming your way 😉
  11. But Malc what about the Werthers originals or mint imperials? 😎
  12. Intrigued by the way the lack of empirical evidence can still be used as a portent of the future. Visi calc was the most important programme ever in gaining wide-spread use of personal computers. It was predicated on the challenge "what - if", a subset of "if this then that". So Malc is essentially posing "what if I traversed the Gobi", ie, let's consider the possibilities. However the EV driver can't enjoy such meandering, they can't even get to start line. This doesn't make them bad, or wrong or misguided but an expression of a lifestyle choice. And in support of a more tolerant society I have to say, crack on.
  13. Are you nuts Malc 🤣
  14. Very insightful John 👏
  15. They do say that lefties often accuse others of something they themselves are guilty of 🤭
  16. These are the same people with Sky TV, the latest smartphones, cigarettes, taxis from the supermarket, I could go on 🤯
  17. Of course the climate changes, in fact by the minute Chris, it's generally called weather. But if you believe those changes are fundamentally caused by anthropogenic activities then they are so monumental in nature changing to an EV will not make a blind bit of difference. I have yet to see a proper "dust to dust" balance sheet of EV v ICE have you? As to fuel prices this is a car owners forum so no doubt we are more keenly focussed on the price per litre. But look closer and similar percentage rises abound in all sorts of commodities £7.25 for a tub of Lurpak anyone? For us in the West we have been living, by an large, the life of Riley based on debt for years but I sense now we have to pay the piper. 🙁
  18. Actually Bernard there are more horses kept in the UK today than in Victorian times 😎
  19. Looks like a great result, 0000, magic all-purpose reusable for no money, not heard of Muck-off sounds like some form of directive 😅
  20. Hang on Malc didn't you used to work for Nat West Bank? 🤔😂
  21. Did you use your gold card and save even more 🤔😎
  22. To that I would also add France 24, Talk TV, Whatfinger News (a site aggregator). Fox news comes in different guises not all DJT biased. I particularly like Tucker Carlson who I watch on YouTube as Fox News not accessible on usual UK channels.
  23. That's about as unbiased as RT 🤯
  24. Yes its a great place, I first went there in '73 when the word tax was essentially non-existent even now not that bad compared to here. I can wholly recommend the Hotel de France when you go next time 👍
  25. 😎, you are right Brian, it wasn't on our roads technically speaking, parked outside our hotel in St Helier, never saw it move in days 👍
