  1. The insanity surrounding climate continues here is the latest : All students at the University of Barcelona will have to take a mandatory course on the climate crisis after the establishment agreed to meet the demands of activists conducting a sit-in occupation. In a move thought to be a world first, all 14,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students will have to take the course from the 2024 academic year. It will also devise a training programme on climate issues for its 6,000 academic staff. The announcement came after a seven-day occupation by a group from the anti-fossil fuel organisation End Fossil Barcelona.

  3. Might we extend it to cover all windbags 🤔😊
  4. Your point about research is well made Dave and on YouTube there is a wealth of real world experience from people such as The EV Puzzle, Daniel Coe, Anthony Dwyer etc. And yes, it can appear complex mainly because the terminology used is a new thing to most people. A bit like the early days of personal computers. The number one question is, why do I want to do this? In my case it was return on investment. I fully expect this to be apx 10% in the first year. You may however wish to save the planet. Efficency of configuration components is improving rapidly along with upward costs so that's a consideration. The biggest advance however is the availability of affordable batteries. This enables you to use "time of use" load shifting in the winter when there is little solar by paying 12/15p a kW to solar excess in the summer which you can sell back to your supplier and get back 15p+ per kW.
  5. Just look up solar panels bird protection. Essentially most panels are on brackets and stand proud of your roof tiles allowing a nice dry space for birds, a mesh or spikes surrounding the panel stops this. Bird poo, dust etc will affect panel performance but washing off with a hose fixes this as well as panel optimisers 👍
  6. I have used the same company 👍
  7. When I had less confidence in our alleged leadership. During Brexit they were shown to be ineffectual, during CV-19 ineffective and now as we face huge structural challenges, utterly inconsequential. So why wouldn't you vote for a true leader? Cometh the hour cometh the man, but for us here in the UK we're still waiting.
  8. Couldn’t agree more Maurice, it's somewhat tragic that over here unless you do the research the reality is hidden from view. Right here, right now there is a monumental existential threat to our culture and way of life and it is not climate change and it is not China and it is not immigration. What it is, is, the incompetency of our politicians. I genuinely can't recall a time when I had less confidence in our alledged
  9. Largely failed to deliver Bill? Dear GxD if this is failure I would dearly like to know your definition of success 🤯 https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/0
  10. Exactly so John, so when the climate zealots use the phrase "settled" science what can we infer from that?
  11. Now there's a thought 🤔🤯😎
  12. True! But how do you explain scientists who state in my last link, " The scientists were somewhat surprised that the ozone is thinning out in the lower stratosphere because their models do not show this trend and CFCs continue to decline. Certain aspects of their findings are not completely unexpected, however. "Thanks to the Montreal Protocol, ozone in the upper stratosphere - ie above 30 kilometres - has increased significantly since 1998, and the stratosphere is also recovering above the polar regions," said William Ball, researcher at ETH Zurich. Despite these increases, measurements show that the total ozone column in the atmosphere has remained constant, which experts took as a sign that ozone levels in the lower stratosphere must have declined. The reasons for the continuing decline are still unclear}" 🤔

  14. I have just received a letter from Bristol Council advising me my Jaguar Reg was identified as being in their CAZ and that from 28th November I will subject to a fine for doing so. Now this is all well and good but I wasn't within 100 miles of Bristol on that day 🤯. When I called the support number I was told to ignore it as some of the ANPR cameras aren't recording correctly 🤯🤯🤯. Now my plate is a XK specific 5 digit number so can't imagine it's been cloned. The same firm, probably Serco, are also doing Birmingham and no doubt a town near you soon. Can you imagine the distress this could cause after the 28th in being issued a false notice? Motoring in this country is getting grimmer by the day. 😕
  15. I think Bernard that hopefully people in the West are beginning to wake up and smell the chop-suey. Fascinating how devotion to the new religion of climate change is bankrupting the West with the consumption of "green energy" products made in China who are opening coal fired power stations daily. We need to redefine the definition of insanity.
  16. I am more concerned with their manufacturing hold on pharmaceutical 🤯
  17. Well they already own, London (Black cabs) Taxis, Volvo, Lotus, so who knows? Oh, and Sunseeker boats 😱
  18. I refer my honourable friend to a response I gave to Bernard some hours ago. I also know John being of certain vintage you will recall those Japanese motorcycles imported in the 1960's and then cars and impact on the UK manufacturing base 🍻
  19. Car or pony? Do tell 😊
  20. Heathen 🤯 Car or pony? Do tell 😊
  21. Chris sounds rather combative this morning 😊, wonder if he had three Shredded Wheat for breakfast 🤔😂
  22. Yes Bernard but you are buying the hangman's noose with which they will eventually hang you. 🙁
  23. Brilliant 👍worthy successor to the mini moke?
  24. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose Looking back at the traction avant with the vertical windscreen and minimalist interior maybe not so avant-garde after all 😎
  25. Socrates also commented, "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.” A far cry from Spartas mothers whose mantra was simple - Before you or on it. 😐
