Couldn't be more clearer 👍

Fortunately at £4.33 each and even with losing my WFA, I can afford one even if I use a candle to heat it! (they come frozen) chicken & tarragon, beef brisket particularly good. Before too long game pie versions should be on offer 😜🍷l

How many times can we repeat - "you couldn't make this up"!

From the Sage Journals (this sounds familiar,) "The widespread scepticism towards the authenticity of Corbyn’s espoused position meant that both Leavers and Remainers were reported to distrust him. The Guardian (21 May 2019) reported that ‘none of us believe he’s truly on our side’. The Sun (8 December 2019) ran an article describing Corbyn as a ‘spineless hypocrite on Brexit’. Nick Cohen, writing in The Guardian (1 June 2019), noted that ‘voters demand that their leaders are authentic, especially voters as angry as Britain’s Remainers’, and therefore, if Corbyn began campaigning for Remain, ‘few would believe him’. The Guardian (17 May 2019) asked, in an ironic tone, whether it was because Corbyn ‘likes stories so much that Labour has two totally contradictory ones to tell people for the European elections?’ A commentary in the Daily Telegraph (28 May 2019) also posed the question in terms of dishonesty by asking whether his supporters would still view him as authentic after ‘being forced into a position [on Brexit] in which he clearly does not believe?’ The Times (8 February 2019) claimed that Labour MPs did not believe his Remain proclamations and knew ‘deep down that they are trapped in a party led by a man with unconscionable views on foreign policy who is perfectly happy to leave the EU’. While these commentators saw Corbyn as a Leave supporter putting on an inauthentic pretence as a Remainer, other commentators thought he lacked any clear position at all. The Daily Mail (24 August 2019) claimed that Corbyn did not ‘show leadership’ because he did not actually know what he believed in: ‘He needs to work out what he stands for and abide by it. If he believes in Brexit, he should say so. If he supports Remain, he should say so’."

You may change your opinion on Starmer when you watch Peter Hitchens analysis going back many years ☹️👍

What a brilliant link Len! Pity I don't live in London 🙁.. One firm that does deliver nationwide is, The Port of Lancaster Smokehouse. Fantastic array of smoked fish and meats. I also buy from Yorkshirehandmadepies, glorious selection of proper pies. I split with friends to get free delivery which makes them both highly affordable 🍻

Hugely helpful Len thanks 🙂

Yes Len, I know, I am torn between vector 4 seasons and the CC's. But so many people on here speak positively about CC's I am inclined in that direction.

Posh? Is that a person of scary habits? 😅

Perhaps they knew of the Change. Org petition?

My pals mother was like that when he wouldn't eat his greens 😉

What a great site definitely worth reading and supporting, I particularly like this comment "The National Trust is set to make half of its cafe food vegan to support its efforts to reach net zero." And K. Starmer criticised the Conservatives for claiming that the NT pursued "woke" policies.
-
Interesting question, I am also looking at CC2 from Costco - is this the best deal around? Alternatively Goodyear V 4seasons Thanks for your thoughts

Alongside David is also Rafe Heydell Mankoo both unbelievably proud of this nations history unlike the National Trust who, today, said 70% of it's staff were anti the Union Flag 🤯. Sack them all today, close up the properties until they recruit staff loyal to this country. And every NT subscriber should make their annual fees conditional on making this happen.

I like a dog that knows it's place 🙂

Good point Phil. Historically, investigative journalists are like greyhounds now that this particular hare is running. And if history is to repeated don't be surprised to learn of more and more revelations as time goes by. But don't expect resignations soon. Doing the honourable thing is a principle long since gone, consigned to history along with the WFA. ☹️

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. (Bertrand Russell) Thanks Malc for updating us. 🙂

Heres another beauty - if you're from Yorkshire standby, "Last year she published her book ‘The Age of Ageing Better? A Manifesto For Our Future’, aimed at helping policy makers and practitioners to make the radical changes needed to ensure that no one misses out on a good later life." This refers to Dr Anna Dixon MBE, awarded the gong for running the Centre For Ageing Better and now MP for Shipley who voted FOR cutting the WFA 🤯 Labour the gift that gives giving,

Well the one on the right can't change it's bought clobber! 😂

Couldn’t agree more. So far it's all been spend spend spend. Self congratulation of being first woman chancellor no mention of first woman prime minister. Trashing the Tories and still in campaigning opposition mode. And £1700 increase in pensions over this parliament. That's equivalent to 3% a year on the full SP of which only 50% claim it. And it conveniently forgets the fiscal drag on not increasing personal allowances meaning more pensioners being drawn into 20% tax. This is pretty despicable stuff from a "honest transparent government 🙁

Is there no end to their profligacy? And manipulative lack of veracity

Dell Boy if I remember right 🤣

I am also in Derbyshire at least you got a response from your MP! For what it's worth to date I have not met one person yet who supports stopping the WFA. As to the pension numbers this may interest you: The following table shows the estimated number of people receiving the new state pension, November 2022. No. of females No. of males Total Received at least £185.15 594,000 934,000 1,528,000 Received less than £185.15 649,000 881,000 1,529,000 Total in receipt of state pension 1,243,000 1,814,000 3,057,000 Source: DWP Under the old, pre-2016, system, of the 9,576,000 people receiving the basic state pension in November 2022, 26 per cent received less than the full amount of £141.85. The following table shows the estimated number of people receiving the old basic state pension, November 2022. No. of femalesn No. of males Total Received at least £141.85 3,622,000 3,488,000 7,109,000 Received less than £141.85 1,968,000 498,000 2,466,000 Total in receipt of state pension 5,590,000 3,986,000 9,576,000 Source: DWP Apologies for lack of formatting but as you can see less than half receive full new SP and 75% of the old one. So no 900/480 for millions of people. 🙁
