Do you think they are having me on ???? have you seen the video this is a screen shot of the so called corrosion

Can’t find anyone else and frightened to take somewhere else for mot just in case ?

They said they will replace front to rear both sides and remove fuel tank and lots more and take 6-8 hours.

It’s been there since Saturday. they said to replace all the pipes left and right and now said £1085 with a £100 discount. I’ve now sent them a long email to explain and justify the corrosion and state why ?

This is my point exactly. but it’s such a long garsly job, 6hours. why would they say excessive corrosion if it doesn’t need replacing ? just why. I’m worried they are trying to bring the wool over my eyes. £1200 to change both brake line pipes. They were insistent I left the car with them as well.

Brake callipers last month front and rear

This is my worry, that they are just trying to rip me off. i had look myself while it was in a ramp but didn’t look that bad to me also he was standing in the way. this is my 3rd mot by Lexus but at different branch. i don’t trust them, but 6 hours to change brake pipes is a bifnjob if it doesn’t need doing. Brakes are everything on a car. Just not sure why or how that would do this to me. mom just hoping the warranty group will cut ver as it’s £1200 in total to do it . So annoyed

Lexus MOT tester said it’s an instant failure but luckily hasn’t logged on and my mot doesn’t run out till mid January

I will just have to wait till Monday for the phone call

Yes they know I have extended warranty first thing they said and I have free mots too. i read the small print of the warranty please see last section is that the get out so stressed over this

When I bought the car I took out the Lexus extended warranty for 3 years which is the equivalent to manufacture but can’t find anything about corroded part

Really, as it being a wear and tear item ?? they recently changed the front and rear calliper under warranty as seized

So my car is at Lexus they have advised me my brake pipes are corroded and bubbling up. they have quoted me to repair this costing over £1000 as it’s 6 Hours labour. i currently have Lexus extended warranty. would the warranty group cover this ??

I’m sure Lexus relax should be the equivalent??

@steve2006 @Vlady @Mihanicos Took my car to Lexus sticky piston on calliper and it’s covered under the Lexus warranty but discs and pads need doing as over heated and warped. £246 to do those so overall not bad. my back seized and I replaced my self but that would of been under the extended warranty too. We live and we learn. Never mind

@steve2006 tha is I sure will give them a call. brakes and discs look fine. Front discs change by lexus in 2013 and brake pads changed at some point non oem they are apec , would you suggest changing discs and pads too although they look full of life. discs have some lip and Scoring !

@Mihanicos hey what do you recommend then?? Change the calliper itself or repair kit. Oil changed every 2 years

@steve2006 just ordered a couple of sets of these thanks for the link . also please check my latest link brakes related had to use Lexus roadside assistance front brake calliper piston came on car vibrations and wheels felt like they were going to fly off. Arms and legs vibrating so much was in a lot of pain in arms and legs and my poor disaggregated was terrified bless her. The AA man freed off calliper, brake cleaner on brake pads disc but said only temporary. would you suggest replacing complete calliper The disc and pads looked fine when he removed everything. but car slightly y still pulling and the whee does move as freely as it should ?? Any ideas or experience with this on the is 250

@Vladynew calliper around £200 plus for genuine . I will you YouTube I’ve just replaced rear discs rear pads and rear calliper all Lexus genuine parts wasn’t that bad overall cost me over £300 and I done all myself.

@Vlady last November I replaced all slider pins on the front changed and greased - all ok on that side/ brake pads and discs all ok. the problem is a sticky piston ??? it came on and stayed on for a few minutes then went off again when I stopped. im worried it will happen again. i don’t want to strip and just replace the cylinder with the kit I would prefer to replace complete calliper.

So all my back brakes done perfect. driving down the motorway, Car was shaking steering wheel vibration . So I stopped on the side then set off again everything seemed ok. my feet and legs still hurt from the vibration The smell was so bad as well. i used the Lexus roadside assistance, AA came out within 1hour. He identified I Had a seized cylinder on N/S calliper. He stripped the whee, Brake cleaner on pads disc and used a special tool to put piston back in checked discs and pads. All ok Wheel is spinning freely but a little bit tight at times. im guessing need to change the front calliper ????

Thanks Dave Hand brake done and holding perfectly just right down to the floor/ yes there’s a grommet on the discs and behind a ⚙️ cog screwdriver in and do the clicks as you say. Should be a simple job (famous last words ) thanks Dave

I used a bolt and pushed the disc off

I had to put a screw into the discs and tighten till it clicked the discs were stuck and rusted on/ Is this a quick job to fix ?? How do I do it Please.

It holds yes just all the wag to the floor
