For my next set of tyres I think I will go for Debica Presto UHP2: they are produced by Goodyear in the same factory as Goodyear tyres, so I suppose with the same quality standards but for a lower price, and I have read positive reviews on tyrereviews.com. Also my local tyres garage can supply and fit them for a good price. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Debica/Presto-UHP2.htm

Hi David and welcome to the club. I am not Irish but I live close to Cork. I don't drive a CT but I have owned a Prius (same technology) for nearly 12 years and I have had only one problem to the Power steering module, solved with 150 euros. In 12 years only normal servicing and only once at the Toyota dealer. Now I drive a Lexus GS450H and I am very happy with it. When I was looking to replace the Prius the only condition I firmly put to my choice was that it had to be hybrid Toyota or Lexus and eventually I have actively looked for a GS450H for nearly one year before finding the good one. My suggestion is to test drive the CT before buying. I personally love the HSD technology and the ecvt of Toyota/Lexus. I personally love the CT facelift of 2018 but I don't know about the spare wheel missing if there is a sunroof. Owners of the CT here may be more informed about it.

Yes I think national arrogance is what I would define the French attitude. I was in contact with a French friend (well I would not call him a friend, but I have known him for some years) and he has kept saying that France was a better team than England and deserved to win (I think France was just lucky that Kane missed the penalty because had he scored nobody could have been sure that France would have gone through), and denied that France was also lucky against Morocco as Morocco had some good chances that unfortunately did not produce a goal and for most of the match France was only leading 1-0 and both teams were playing at the same level. He had already celebrated the victory by saying in a message "we are world champions!" even before playing the final and eventually concluded that any team can win at penalties not admitting that for 80 minutes Argentina had widely dominated the match and France did not even seem a finalist. After all the record of Italy winning 2 consecutive World Cup editions with the same manager stays unbeaten.
-
I absolutely agree with you: I think the best team won. Argentina has dominated the match until the 80' minute. France absolutely embarrassing in the first half for being a finalist: not even one shot on target. I think the 2 french goals in less than 2 minutes are more the fault of Argentina than the ability of the French to come back. In other words Argentina should not have wasted 2 goals lead just 10 minutes to the end of regular time even though I must admit that the second goal by Mbappe' was extraordinary. After all I am very happy for Argentina and Messi who has achieved the only missing trophy in his fabulous career and especially I am happy that I won my bet.
-
I also have a bet on Argentina to win the world cup that I did before the start of the competition but anyway even without the bet I would prefer Argentina to win 😉.
-
Are we all together supporting Argentina? Or someone prefers the French to win?
-
Thank you. I have added them to my watchlist.
-
John is it easy to mount them into the wipers? You just slide them in?
-
And Maradona if I can add. The goal he scored to England (sorry guys) running with the ball from midfield is something unique. And also with Napoli he scored some amazing goals.

This is exactly my feeling about the car.

I bought a MK3 GS450H a year ago and I absolutely love it. Probably I have different expectations than Graham. The only aspect that I dislike is the fuel consumption but maybe I still have to learn to drive it properly as other members on this forum get better fuel consumption than me. My suggestion is to test drive it to see if you like it. There might be good MK3 models on sale on AT within a reasonable price.

I am just back from the dealer: apparently they do not do the hybrid check separated from the service anymore. I do not know if it is just this dealer or all of them. I have been quoted 696 euros for the major service (in the first email they had written 650 euros). I forgot to mention that they already told me that they will give me a Yaris as courtesy car. I had hoped for a Lexus but anyway...
-
Hi Toby, I think they could but maybe they don't want. In Cork the local Lexus and Toyota dealers belong to the same group i.e. Lehane Motors and the 2 brands share the same building even though with distinct logos and different showrooms and entrances but they have only one garage to service the cars so I suppose the same mechanics service both Toyota and Lexus models. I will try to go there in person tomorrow and I will ask them even though I don't think they will do it.

In terms of reliability I think Hyundai and Kia are better than VW. My opinion. -
I have emailed my local Lexus dealer in Cork asking information for booking the full service with replacement of the spark plugs and I specifically asked whether they would carry out the hybrid health check of the battery pack and guarantee the battery for 1 year/15,000 kms and this below is their reply: "Hi Sergio, There is no option for service plan. Hybrid battery check I included in service but there is no warranty after 15 yrs or 225 000 km. Courtesy car is available. It is free. Only thing that needs to be done is insurance. You can transfer your insurance for that day, or you can buy insurance from us. It is €15 per day. Service with spark plugs is Full plus service. Price for that car for service like that is around €650. Service will take around 3 hrs. Service will include: During the Full + Service our Experienced Toyota Mechanics - conduct a Full Health check and Safety Service . The engine oil and oil filter, Air Filter, Spark Plugs are replaced. The Brake Fluid and the Cabin Filter is replaced with this service. - Your vehicle will also receive a free wash and a free vhc report Kind Regards, Blaz Galic Customer Service Advisor" I therefore replied as follows: "Hi Blaz, thank you for your reply. As for point 2 I was wondering if you do the battery health check by the end of this month my car would still be technically 14 years old, would it be eligible for the warranty of the battery pack? As for point 3 I can transfer my insurance temporarily to the courtesy car without problem, I only need the registration number. Thank you, Kind regards, Sergio Barrile" I am waiting for their reply. Any thoughts are welcome.

England deserved to equalise at least and go to extra time and maybe penalties. They played much better than France in the second half. It's really pity to have missed that penalty. I hope that the final will be Argentina Vs Morocco.

Marvelous colour!!! Congratulations!!!

John a small OT for you: don't you suffer the extreme heat in summer there?
-
Thank you for the informative review. It is nice to see that you are in love with your ES. I too think that the ES is superb in the front but it is missing something in the rear. Maybe it could have been done better. I am not completely sure but I think in my MK3 GS the outside temperature is always shown without pressing any button.

I did a bet on England losing in the final against Argentina 😁. So come on against France!!!

Does it mean that all other countries in the world (and they are the majority) where the driver sits on the left hand it is not safe for the passengers?
